Hello, if it starts up and you can expose and you see later on the PC/memory card the picture - the display is defect. In addition check if there is button to enable or disabled the display. The camera has two displays the front one need to be activated in the menu or with a button I have to look. Good luck.

Yeah, it uses a proprietary connector. Friend of mine has this camera actually, so that's how I know
