Just found a way to join Japans faction, when they declare on Shanxi just make sure you are also at war with Shanxi (had everyone but one refuse, basically the inverse of what happened in this video) Japan declared while I was at war with Shanxi and was like, hey want to join my faction, so I did.
The scout planes are not too bad for 'spotting' enemy unit positions, you only need 1 per zone, they're rarely shot down , hella cheap to manufacture and adds to your intel
Watched it to the end, liked as well! Feedback, you have genuinely made me a better player at HOI! I was wondering if you could do a ship design tutorial? While I'm not terrible with the Navy, it tends to be a category I struggle in the design phase with.
I also struggle with navy, except when doing the mass subs strategy. I'd like to know more about fleet composition and designs for classic naval and for carrier based fleets
@2:00 small artillery was basically always drawn by horse in ww2, especially in the early years - the videos of the invasion of poland depicture this in great detail.
With the strategy of using ships to see troops on ports it doesn’t work with submarines, but it always works with all other ships. In the video, a division had moved onto both of the ports you paradropped onto. On Taiwan you could see a division there before you clicked the go button for the paradrop(14:54). The division on that tiny state japans owns had got to the port just before you paradropped because you can see it on the port right after you hit go on the plan but before any paratroopers has left the airport(at time spot right after 15:30).
You just weren’t paying enough attention on the first paradrop, but on the second one you just got unlucky that a division had got onto the port between the small time frame of you creating the paradrop order and hitting go on the plan.
To be fair, paratroopers are useful if you have a leader with commando trait. You just use your special abilities and then you can fight even against the garrison.
Hey! I always watch the full length! Coulld you do a video on forming the HRE easy? It's a bit annoying now because as you can no longer go for the reich+empire exploit, you basically need to defeat and conquer all of europe. By that point you have already won... So, can the HRE be formed "early" by some sneaky exploits?
Watched the entire video. Thank you for showing your production and templates at the very end it's very helpful to us newer and inexperienced players. Great video gunna try it this weekend
Watched until the very end (the video closed automatically). Thank you for your great videos, I enjoy every single one of them. Also, thank for teaching me a new cool strategy!
Feedback, I was wondering if you did a video on this before. In a Communist China game, I did a lend lease exploit, by doing increase relations and maintenance with the soviet union and germany, then requesting lend lease by building 120 army units at a time, going into massive gun debt, then requesting. They were extremely willing to contribute, and by 1940 I had 240 20 width armies as Communist china.
That problem you mention with paratroopers glitching and not following orders even with over 70% air superiority i find that deleting the transports and adding them back to the airfield works.
Watched till the very end didn't skip a single second Quite possibly I might have become your fan, keep going my fav exploiter and prob my fav Brit as well
Can you start the Second Sino-Japanese War in July '37 and finish it in July '39? I tried it once two weeks ago with overall strats similar with you, but I just can't quite get it. Maybe it's because my production isn't efficient enough to support my offense.
I did it once by spamming naval dockyards and submarines from the start. It generally doesn't work but you can get lucky sometimes when ai doesn't manage their navy well enough. Once you land in japan, it is over for them.
I have a lot of experience playing as Japan, and the hardest thing about invading China is the terrible, terrible supply. That's why you want to blitz the coast and take all those ports.
Hey Dave, my only issue is, it's quite RNG based. When I subjugate the Warlords, 75% of the time, all but 1 refuse, and so I have to constantly restart - it's frustrating.
Could non aggression pacts be used to negate a guarantee? I've been trying to figure out how to conquer the nordic union territories as finland but the allies always guarantee Sweden and I can't flip them fascist fast enough
The ships not always showing the troops that are in the ports you wish to paratroop into might be the only good argument I've seen for why you should use scout planes.
I usually play as Yugoslavia and diplomatic pressure Germany, Italy and Hungary lol. But one time in an unhistorical game all my neighbors except Turkey and Greece joined pact of Rome and it was that moment I knew... I fucked up
lets say you watch the vid for the first time in it’s entirety and you come back to it later lets say if you wanted to recreate what was done in the vid. does youtube register the skip aheads from the 2nd time you click the video or just first time viewing. if so that genuinely fuck up the algorithm thingy.
If you're going for romance of the three kingdoms, DO NOT RELEASE THEM, puppet them in the peace deal, because if you do annex and release them you lose your cores
If you comment before watching the video you get 1000 years of bad luck. XD

then I shall be!

1000 years of bad luck isn't that bad if you think about it. :)

It is easier to point a machinegun up than make a bigger gun.
At least, i assume so
But it makes no sense chinise army used artilery in the first civil war it was a Basic tool for their strategy

I agree
I prefer rule columbia myself

I watched the whole vid without skipping. Dave, thank you for the suggestions playing as China.
FeedBackGaming: I'm not asking for a like.

One good thing about annexing warlords through pp instead of puppet autonomy is that you get their generals as well
Great stuff Dave. Got to the end. Have a great Christmas
Happy holidays!
Made it to the very end, no skipping. Good work fam!
that two extra years makes a lot of different ...
I always watch the whole video , why skip the video when the full length is entertaining !?
Not the game menu

Great video, love playing in China. Watched to the end with no skipping!
No one:
FBG: Historical Game BTW
Not skipping leg day, not skipping FeedBackGaming video! My two leading principles.
When para dropping into a port you can sometimes withdraw from combat by selecting the paratrooper and right-clicking on a friendly port.
I was recently playing communist china and took most of the upper warlords then allied with china then proceeded to inflict 2mil casualties for japan
Hi feedback, very nice video! Greetings from Italy

I always watch the whole video and like with notis on :) i wish i was goof at the game like you lol
Watched the entire video two times. Love the videos keep up the good work and diplomatic pressure completely broken lol.
The ship spotting thing only works for capital ships - so you need to have Battleships/Carriers to do it
True but iirc China's start fleet has 2 Coastal Defense ships which probably are considered capital ships?

16:32 "lose an entire paratrooper army"
Oh no!
Anyway
I never used diplomatic pressure before. I'll have to try this.
I watched it completley, and all i got was new ideas for the next China playthrough.
21:13 if you don't feel like reloading the save, just delete the transport planes and respawn them, that always fixes it for me
