  • If you're like me - interested in elevating your workshop ventilation system, then you might want to see this video! Today I will show you the ARBE Under-Bench Vacuum System from Gesswein. For a long time I've only been working with my windows open as a way to ventilate my space. Then, a couple of years ago, I invested a small amount in a little bench top fume extractor, mostly for soldering. However, I still didn't have anything for dust and particles. This gear is a bit more pricey, but it's definitely worth your investment if you're building your workshop and do jewelry metalsmithing professionally and full time. Day after day, your lungs and airways are exposed to toxic fumes and tiny particles and you have to think about protecting yourself and others that may be in your space. If silversmithing is something you do occasionally as a hobby or a beginner, then this may not be a necessary equipment for you - YET. But keep it in mind for later, once you grow and start spending hours doing this craft! :) Especially, if your workshop is essentially part of your home. I hope you enjoy this video and make sure to ask your questions in the comments if you have any!
    Love, Basia x

Basia is so organized that the workshop even looks like a doll's house.

At last, is past tense (or tents!), but going into the future with your output Basia of fine, delicate work Basia, is necessary, well done. Yes, it would be the turn-off, no suppressor? Great to see your new work, always pushing the boundaries to new heights. Very well done. Hope you are in good health. Love Robin.......

I have a shed that is 5ft by 4th and also contains a tumble dryer, garden umbrella and other stuff. I literally have no room for this. I hope having the door open and wearing a mask is enough.

A little price-ie for me but it gave me an Idea. it looks like it's just a wet/shop vacuum with a bag & a carbon or charcoal filter. the carbon or charcoal filter you can find in marijuana grow-shops and the vacuum in any home improvement store. It would take up more space but do the same thing. Or you could take every apart and put it in one container.
If I had the cash, I would just buy one tho.

It's a great idea for a DIY option :) I'm afraid that I'm not knowledgeable enough to tell how much exactly that would compare to a bench vacuum like this, but seems like it's very close! The most important part is safety, always, so it's just making sure that everything is in order
