      Ignacio I went there, i am a C student at best at Stanford right now but continue to work hard. When I went to this school and applied we emphasize on being black and from poverty in essay that we have help writing. we deserve this. We need more black representation! Grades are not everything. While it’s true no one actually have a teaching degree there, thier methods are ahead of anyone’s time. All students participate and I have not seen anyone ever not get an A! All students are in honor roll .This school is great and you ppl are jealous!

      Casey believe me I'm not coming from jealousy, at the end it doesn't matter to me, I'm not from USA, but your experience contrast against several others made by other students there. If they in fact used phisical punishment, and lied to get their students into universities at levels above their true capacities they should be held accountable for that

      Ignacio if you’re not from the USA then why you so concerned, interested, or why would your opinion even matter? That’s like me like worrying about a school in Kenya rural village or sticking my nose to the business of a small private school in Indonesia town of Bali. That’s just my two cents though 💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿😳☠️

      Casey haha relax, welcome to the age of the internet I can have an opinion on your school and anyone can avoid it. I have no reason to doubt the NYT article, and I can't be less concerned about the race of the students. If in fact nothing illegal was happening in that school you have nothing to worry about. by the way, for what it sounds the doesn't seem like a "years ahead" model, it looks like a Montessori system or am I wrong?

If you really are from the school (which I highly doubt), you should be able to see the very evident deception. About kids teaching themselves, that's the basic principle of modern Common Core. I was in Common Core test groups 7/8 years ago when Common Core was first being instituted in public schools and our teacher plainly told us, the goal of a Common Core environment is for students to discover the topics on their own and for the teacher to simply give them the answers at the end of the exercise. This was Algebra and Geometry, we were trying to teach ourselves how to write proofs and it doesn't really work. I have no comments abt TM Landry, but the American public school system in general is broken.

      Mike Landry and his wife are con artists , nothing more . He was a salesman for most of his life .He did teach for a couple years .(2003-2005 ) She was a nurse .Many of the kids are years behind their official grade level . The school has teachers who are not qualified . They spend their high school years prepping for standardized tests . They are doing well on the SAT`s and ACT`s because of that emphasis . Mike Landry , then falsified transcripts with courses that kids hadn`t even taken , let alone excelled in . He also gave them a backstory that they didn't have . After that ,they got accepted in schools where they were often unprepared . Some kids , who hadn`t been at that school for long , did manage their university studies , but most were woefully unprepared . ( The students at this school , and their parents , are the victims of a charismatic cult leader with no conscience . )

    I wonder how many times they had to rehearse?...Someone should have been suspicious when 100% of students enter college. It's unrealistic🤷‍♀️

    • @inpiglatin
      @inpiglatin 5 лет назад

      Not really. It's a college prep school not a high school, so everyone there has the goal of getting into college. There were only like 15 people per grade, and most college prep schools screen kids to get them in (probably not this scam, but before people knew it was a scam that would've been under consideration). And not 100% got into Ivies or anything - it wouldn't be at all unrealistic for 15 pre-screened kids at a private college prep school to all at least get into a state school.

    If the founders of this private school and their students were white instead of black, people would be praising them! I can already envision some of the praises that’d be going around:
    • We need more private schooling and homeschools like this in the States
    • Private is better than public schools
    • The current educational bureaucracy is what’s failing our system
    • See, Louisiana a red state, better than those dens states
    • Founders are geniuses and heroes
    • I’d send my kids to this school than to the public system
    • Free market solves everything
    • Any allegations of the fudging the transcripts is Fake News perpetrated by the Bureaucrats, Establishment, and Media
    • The kids who are coming out talking about the bad things such as abuse, bad tactics , etc. are a bunch of snowflakes
    Blah, blah… The list goes on…
    I think what these founders are doing is brilliant and we need more like them around the country. All allegations made against them are just that allegations until proven otherwise!
    Praise these people as they have proven their system is working!
    Shame on anyone criticizing them. For what? Because they’re poor and minorities and they’re doing superior things to advanced themselves?

      HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
      you DO KNOW they got caught for chokeholding and slamming 8 year olds, illegally forging the transcripts of all of their students to say that they have gotten all 100s and have completed classes they never took (math, science, English, history), blackmailed and threatened the kids to lie in the interviews and prepared them and set up mock lessons and whiteboards to have interviewers think and record that they're doing what they never do when they are there, And that ALL of the kids who moved on to their colleges ended up failing and quitting out of inexperience, fraud from the school, and SOO much more? Look it up, the reporter was right about his skeptics all along. They were brainwashed indeed and YOU bought it!

    • @Garrus1995
      @Garrus1995 4 года назад +1

      Better than nothing, man. A lot of people start at community colleges to find their place academically before transferring to 4 year universities. It’s a decent way to save money because community/junior colleges charge very low tuition to get electives out of the way so that students can move on to what matters at a full college. You don’t need to start at an Ivy League school to have a good life. Not everyone who is successful goes to such schools.
