- The World of Warships Legends Shots Series covers key skills and tips to improve your play!
In Part Two of our Easy Aiming Series - How to Read Target Lead & Elevation!, we build on our last video by fine tuning how to use the tools in the crosshair to accurately target various kinds of ships with your main battery guns! This might be our most ambitious video yet from a technical and teaching perspective - I really hope you find it useful and it can improve your aim - and game!
In this video, we will show you how to...
- Read the components of the main battery crosshair
- Use crosshair data to improve how you lead and hit targets
- Understand gun elevation with regard to turning targets
- Where to vertically target hulls for maximum effect
- Consistently land more shots, score more damage, and rack up more kills

This is more detailed than a lot of legends CCs’ aiming vids. Kudos to you, professor
Thanks, Garrus - I aim to please!
Bad dad jokes aside, I hope you are doing well! Hope to get back on stream this week. Thanks for watching!
The first aiming video I have found (among AA Ron, TBull, Let um peek etc) that actually explains the cross hair scale and how to use it. Kudos!
Thanks for that! It’s not explained explicitly in Legends, but the scale mimics the dynamic crosshair setting in the PC version.
Using the tick marks and shell flight counter really can make a difference! Be warned that some might call you a hacker, though! 🤣
Great video. It is amazing how few players know this.
I have to admit I was probably a couple thousand games in on World of Warships PC before someone made a video that clued me in (probably iChase or Notser). Unfortunately, we only have the most basic crosshair available for us on Legends, but understanding how to use it can make a big difference in consistency of hitting targets.
Thanks very much for watching and for the feedback!
Great info… thanks for sharing!
Thanks, again!
SCIENCE!!!
Good stuff Del!
As a once professional scientist, I can’t help myself! Thanks for watching!
I have to subscribe just because of your name Van Kraken
Much appreciated! Took more thought than you would think and translates roughly to ‘“water kraken” - even if not fully intended!
I'm really excited to be back with the second part of our Easy Aiming Series! This episode of Shots explores the mystery of the crosshair and the amazing shell flight time and distance data it contains that can greatly improve your main battery aim! It probably took me over a thousand games and finally some content from original World of Warships PC players to even know these techniques existed!
We also cover the topic of using gun elevation and sprinkle in a little bit of everyone's favorite thing - RNG, too!
I really hope these techniques can help you improve your performance in Legends, so please share any questions or comments below.
Once you've watched Part #1 and #2, don't miss Part #3 here... ruclips.net/video/jGQ0HEcTQa0/видео.html.
your shots r so accurate.....meanwhile i cant even kill a broadside target in the mobile beta.....
Took a long break - sorry for the delayed response. It’s really just about practice and repetition. You’ll get more and more accurate as the general targeting becomes second nature and you can take a tiny bit of time to check the lead based on the method I show in the video.
Good luck!
is it normal that I can't see data like the time it takes for a shell to travel a distance while aiming ? do i need to install sth ?
Hello and thanks for watching! I don't think there is a specific setting that you have to turn on to see the shell flight timer (in Legends, not PC) - I am pretty sure that it is there by default.
@@VannKrakenGaming well I had to find the source file and add a mod that I found but it works!
@@svarog350 Nice! If you are playing on PC, my video works for the standard “static” crosshair that is the default.
You might want to give the “dynamic” crosshair a try that changes it’s scale as you zoom in and out. I would suggest looking at videos from iChase Gaming and Notser for help with those. Good luck!
@@VannKrakenGaming tysm!!!
@@svarog350 No problem! I should mention that the dynamic crosshair I use on PC is downloaded from the WoWs Mod Station and is called Nomogram Classic. It uses the same kind of tick mark method that I describe, but on two different scales on the top and bottom of the aiming line. Good stuff!
In other words just lead target and predict
Yes, but there is a method to the madness if you choose to use it. It does become second nature after a while.
