Yes because the Lamenters never fought against the Imperium in rebellion lead by the Astral Claws and Eldar never created a powerful monster that caused the deaths of billions.
Hello, I'm trying to express my ethereal moans of despair and anguish which will echo eternally into the decaying halls of time.... can you please leave
Your videos really feel like they fit into the lore of 40k more than anyone else on youtube. Your production quality and the way you use speech as if from a 40k novel is a cut above.
@@OculusImperia You truly are a showman and the way how your vocal performance and language truly sound like an individual who IS LIVING in the 41ast millennium! I must know where do you find those enrapturing choir? as it sounds like you are speaking inside an imperial monastery. Although, maybe some quiet ambience of some machinery might also add a level of believability as if your character is in a ship or place of operation within the imperium, washed with sounds of machinary and choir. two things most would be able to associate together yet do given the universe of 40K. Your videos are amazing but some variety in ambience might be cool instead of the same choir track playing in the background. Other than that I LOVE your channel and always am on the lookout for new videos!
Everything about this channel is nothing short of excellence. Your videos have quickly become my favorite to listen to, not only for Warhammer lore, but overall on this site as well; The music is dripping with atmosphere, the beautiful pictures you've picked have perfect relevance with interesting notes, and you sir are simply a natural born speaker. I can't wait to see what subjects are covered in the future, especially what you might have to say about Chaos and the Ruinous Powers.
Thank you so much for the kind words. The channel will very much be exploring more esoteric subjects like the nature of Chaos in future, so stick around!
Now it's perfect. Your velocity is on point so that even me as non native speaker can understand perfectly :) Thank you very much and keep it up. I love your videos
Easily the best Salamanders insights I've come across. Between this and the one on the VIIIth legion, there is some fantastic coverage of the lore in far better crafted detail than other channels. Thanks for your work. Look forward to seeing what else you produce in the future, particularly any information regarding loyalist astartes in traitor legions or vice versa.
I wish you talked about how when the legion bowed to Vulcan he told them to rise because he did not prove himself and then bowed in front of them saying that they had.
Honestly I find this channel to be superior to all others, even Arch Warhammer. That is no disrespect to the quality of those other channels or to the tastes of the viewers, but Oculus' work is evocative, immersive, beautifully presented and most importantly, as accurate as any chronicle of 40K lore could hope to be.
You've done it again, man. Yet another example as to why your channel is the channel to watch for some real, quality 40k lore. Funnily enough, I have been wanting to look more into the Salamanders recently and lo and behold you make a video over them! Brilliant.
One of the few Spacemarine Ordos that is truly heroic. Unselfish to the last, they place themselves between those who need protection and all the dangers of this ruthless universe. Be rightous and praise the emperor.
So, starting at around 4:12, it sounds a lot like you are explaining what the US Marines Force Recon does today. Salamanders really are the special forces of the Astartes.
My only issue with channel is the use of legion number rather than name, i always forget who is who. Small issue as otherwise one of the best lore channel
Thanks for the comment. In many places I only use the Legion numerical designation when referring to the a Legion specifically before it was granted a proper name, as it would be incorrect to say "the World Eaters fought in the Unification Wars" as opposed to "the XII Legion fought in the Unification Wars". It's a stylistic choice, primarily. Hope this clears it up :)
Regarding the purpose of the legion, I remember another guy who made a lore video that said that the purpose of the Salamanders was to be the 'Heroes' of the Imperium, the knights in shining armor that would valiantly come to defend the weak and defeat the enemy.
One of the Tri-fold. the 18th went from near-suicidal dedication and being illogically prone to last stands to becoming a force of Dedication. Bravery, nobility and quality through patience and a honed craftsmanship. a quality based force.
Salamanders and the Lamenters, easily the best examples of true Good Guys in the Imperium. For the sons of Vulkan and Sanguinius! The Emperor Protects!
I have a rough outline of which order I'll be going in, but if there's a big desire from the viewers for one Legion over another, that'll be considered! Also, there will be other videos breaking up the Legion histories too.
love the content! great stuff! the only thing id say is to say the name of the legion when you mention the number, without the name it can be hard to follow! but otherwise awesome!
Thanks for the comment! Usually when a Legion is mentioned by a numerical designation, it is because at the time in history being referenced, the Legion had no proper designation, and was going by its numeral only.
Since all the Legions bolster successes, I wonder if there were other legions, which got disbanded or dissolved for lack of it, without anyone save the emperor knowing their name.
Salamanders: perhaps the only 40k good guys where "good guys" doesn't need to be in quotation marks.
This is blatant Lamenters erasure.
*coughs in eldar child*
Yes because the Lamenters never fought against the Imperium in rebellion lead by the Astral Claws and Eldar never created a powerful monster that caused the deaths of billions.
The fact that they are better than the others does not mean that they are the good ones.

Salamanders are my legion! Astartes of the common man! Saviors of the plain and down trodden.
More knowledge of my favorite legion. A priceless gift.
You are most welcome :)

Franz von Moor thanks so much for saying this, it means a lot. Hopefully it's worth sharing amongst your friends now!

Either just behind or equal in quality to Vaults of terra, keep it up!
This is what quality is, not rambling crap like some others
Thanks for the kind words. I've been aiming for a higher level of quality, glad to hear it's paying off.
i'd say better than VoT, at least this guy can use a microphone.
Better then VOT, I’d say he’s 40k Theories level.
I'd say this channel is near Luetin level :D

Very nice and informative. I really like that you took the criticism regarding your pace seriously. You're definitely doing the Emperor's work here.
Thanks for the feedback. When literally everyone tells you the same thing it's probably a good idea to take the advice!
Seriously... I'd rather he take it slow and steady any day.

Love to hear your take on the "mortal" armies of the emperian. Keep up the good work! I'm turning on all of my fellow 40k fans to your stuff.
Do you mean the Lost and the Damned?
this is one of the good lore channels next to vaults of terra and the ramble king arch keep up the great work
They have always been my favourite chapter...then the novels came out about them...just confirmed it for me. Excellent job on this and so many more.
your accent makes these already amazing videos so much better
Thanks to the mother for that one.
I wanted to let you know that I quite enjoyed the video! Keep up the great work! Also a shameless vote for Raven Guard for an upcoming video.
mart15596 thanks for the kind words! And that's one vote for the XIX!
Great video dude, seriously, this channel has the best content
Thanks so much man, that means a lot!

It would be nice to have a re-upload with the new 10th edition lore
This is 30k lore, not 40k lore so there is no need for anything post scouring
Perfect timing, just sitting down to paint.
I always use the Salamanders when I write a 40K fic.
Very informative and well delivered, have an upvote and my subscription :D
Keep it up.
Not planning on going anywhere!

In which order do you plan to do the Legions, since you just did the Salamenders preceded by the Luna Wolves

What book is this story in?
great work and no annoying speaking impediments (like so many other similar posts)..

Thank you. thank you!

Who lost more men the 1st or the 18th?
We need a tactic and strategies on salamanders
He did that video right after this videos. It's 6 years old

I'm still sad this is the shortest of the legion videos. Very sad.
Very huggey bois
Anyone else notice the astastes instead of astartes i mean yes the charmanders must love barbeque but astastes
