My brother just found out the hard way that our uncle got rid of his 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX hatchback because it was recalled due to faulty seat latches, posing an entrapment hazard. The car currently belongs to my cousin, but my brother was using it for the day because his truck had a dead battery. At one point, when my brother reached into the back for his guitar, the seat collapsed on him, and he became trapped in the back of the recalled Subaru. Luckily, my brother survived, but he said that the rescue was extremely painful.
The probability of a product (inspected by a mature adult) killing your child is rare. But I guess it’s nice to have tools (such as the recall website) to investigate products a little more further.

I scraped it off and had fashioned a different tool for the same purpose before my parents even noticed…was planning on getting my kids one. Faulty and dangerous physical toys like these and kids getting in harm's way are the reason why toy stores are going bankrupt and children are more into mobile video games.
I understand that sometimes things really do need to be recalled but some of these things seemed a little silly to recall. Like I get the Easy-Bake Oven thing but I mean Kidz will just be kids and it seems like sometimes the parents just don't teach them about these hazards and possibilities. Fire extinguishers are another thing that people don’t know are recalled. Especially the Kidde brand.
