Yeah a good beer for sure for the price it's dirt cheap and very drinkable just because a beer is meant to be served ice cold doesn't make it a bad beer
Great review! Very refreshing beer at a good price, which is always a winner to me. Great bready aroma. And kosher certified and union made: What's not to love about this beer? The best beer reviews anywhere Ronald. Thanks. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
It's one of my favorite "value-priced" beers, but in my area we only get tall cans and plastic 42 oz bottles. Do these sell well? I feel like I'm the only person buying Icehouse in my city.
It's easy to find where I'm at I guess it just depends on the location but where I live all the convenience and grocery stores sell it and it's very cheap
Glad you revisited, Jay. I bought a 24 oz when picking up some med at Walgreens for a cold I can't quite kick and enjoying it tonight. Here in VA, for $1.99 that's a decent price (we don't have super cheap convenience store beers like they do in the Midwest or perhaps LA). Mine too says "ale", but I thought that was a silly Texas law or something that is required for beer above 5 percent. Mine has also got the kosher label but interestingly no union label, probably not a union brewery...ah I just looked at my label code says "10" which is Golden, so it's the old Coors brewery. Which is a bit of a hike from here considering there's a plant in Virginia. . Anyway, I agree it's one of the best beers for the category. I miss Red Dog from my youth, but this suffices since I haven't seen RD since the early 2000s. Cheers, Jay
Good review !!! But I did notice something you said that they discontinued the icehouse edge but I believe they brought it back recently or not long ago cause I notice it coming back in stock at the liquor stores here in Maryland .
Never see bottles here in Montana I remember there being 24 or 30 cases of icehouse too at one point here but never see those either. Just a 24 Oz can or a 4 pack of 16 oz cans.. Icehouse and Natural ice are the only ice beers I drink.. I use to like Bud Ice too it's been awhile
Yeah, I have not seen a MHL 40 Oz bottle in a long long time. Plenty of 32 Oz cans and bottles though. I can't F with Icehouse. I don't F with ales. Your channel gave me the motivation to pause my beer consumption for awhile maybe completely. Time will tell. Good luck to you guys.
Icehouse has become one of my favorite stand-by beers in the last 6 months or so. It's just a solid beer. Unfortunately, my local liquor store sells Icehouse only in 30-packs. Which would be fine except for the fact that all the 30-packs are dated March 2022. And even at 5.5% abv, I think 6 months out of date should minimally warrant a discounted price. Hopefully new inventory comes, soon.
Out of all the common "inexpensive" beers out there, I've always thought Icehouse was the best tasting of them all. The low carbonation also give it a sort of creamy texture which I like. The beer snobs can scoff at Icehouse all they want, but I'll pick it over pretty much anything else in the cooler.
@@ronaldtheriot switched over to some bale breaker IPA - local brew . 6.8% this should get the job done 😂🙌🏻🍻 cheers man hope to have a beer with ya one day
As mentioned on a previous Icehouse review, when lived in Atlanta area (1st time, 2008-13) was/is a place near old place of residence & work that had it on tap : Miller's Ale House, Alpharetta GA. I frequented that place on a regular basis and Icehouse was in my rotation since they had it for cheap. They used to be approx 1/2 domestic + imported macro and 1/2 USA craft back then but now other than light beers to appease that crowd it's almost only serving craft beers on their 45 or so taps (so they don't carry this anymore). Anyway, liked it back then for after work beer and will have a time or 2 a year now when i run across it as a throwback. Otherwise you won't find me drinking any ice beers though.
@@ronaldtheriot Publix is good it’s just expensive compared to a FoodLion . Big fresh seafood section and hot food amazing chicken wrap too . Y’all have Publix down there

great review I allways get this beer when I'm on a budget here in ohio we get the 24ounce cans for 99 cents well 1.06 after tax cant beat that price 2 beers for a dollar and 6 cents
I might be a little foggy, but i think there was a rule in some places that a beer had to be called an "ale" if it was over a certain abv, even if it's technically a lager. The brilliant minds of government lol.
I got a good deal on a 12-pack bottles of this. I think I'm starting to prefer bottled over canned beer lol. To me it tastes like a regular ole beer. With a bit more body, flavor, and heft to it. No alcohol or ice beer funk with this one surprisingly. I'd give it a 91/100 A-. It was also the first beer I bought legally. Spent a dollar and change on a 24oz tallboy back in May of 2015. Cheers! Oh and since you mentioned the 6.9% version. I actually liked it. It had a nice, strong, bold, and balanced flavor. Didn't really taste the 6.9% with it. Same with the 6.9% Beast Ice for that matter as well.
Mr. Theriot. I have a very strange question for you. Did you ever serve in the military? Having watched many of your reviews, you always remove your cap before you drink. Hi Jay. I know Miller produces Ice House. Is it possible that Ice House is a condensed version of Miller Lite?
It's possible, Jeffrey, but I seriously doubt it.
Solid detailed reviews, and cool hats. Good job man.

It wasn't a cabin on the label, but a drawing of the old Plank Road Brewery. Yes, same recipe, essentially.
