That explains why it had Nemona go up to the shrine. It's looking for the masks still. When they weren't there, it went back through town on its way to the grave of the Loyal Three.
It shows just how phoned-in the epilogue was in game
@@xv1distort How? I quite liked how on the nose the story of Kitakami was with its origin; this is the Japanese folk tale 'Momotāro'. It has a coat of Pokemon brand paint on it, but it's a great retelling. The epilogue does a neat job of putting together the last pieces of the tale, namely the titular character Momotāro (Pecharunt).
@@misswonnykins9841 The absence of all the above lore. It left a lot out
@@xv1distort Fair enough!
@@misswonnykins9841 @MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Agreed, also, I like it, especially since, by extension, it explains the beginning of Donbrothers, what happened that caused Taro Momoi’s peach capsule to fall down from Ideon.
I love this so much. It gives a lot more insight to Pecharunt and the Loyal Three's stories.
Obviously none of it excuses the fact that they tried to steal something important to Ogerpon and killed her human companion, but it shows that Pecharunt also had emotions and good intentions. From its perspective, it wasn't doing anything terrible, it just wanted to make its owners happy. It didn't even seem to notice how its poison would affect others so badly.
Kinda wish we saw the Loyal Three's original forms, though.
I love this video as a form of telling a legend or myth for a Pokémon and I would love to get more of these.
This should have been in game
@@xv1distort I disagree.
@@that_icy_stylish_bitchcare to share why?
The fundamental point of SV is that none of the villains are true evil people. Every antagonist has more depth than just "I wanna do bad things because"
In my opinion I feel Pecharunt legitimately has no idea it’s mochi is something bad nor does it know its mind controlling capabilities.
Rather than just take inspiration from the Momotaro story, they've very creatively done an inversion of the tale with the heroes as villains and the villains as victims. I'm a fan
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Great, especially The Loyal Three being the villains all along reminds me of Shinrai, Ryuji Inui, and, Tsuyoshi Kijino. Those were Donbrothers who spawned their own Hitotsuki, the monsters in the show.
No one is a REALLY a villain in this momotaro inspired story and I love it. Pecharunt just wanted love and didn’t really have malicious intent.
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: I agree, it is a great story, also, Avataro Sentai Donbrothers, because, Momotaro inspiration.
Still upsetting for poor Ogerpon, but I’m glad we get a complete story with both sides. If Pecharunt’s mochi wasn’t toxic and able to further develop greed, then he could have still been loved by the couple, Ogerpon could have still been left alone so she and her human friend could thrive in Kitakami and earn everyone’s trust over time, and he could have used his mochi to befriend the Loyal Three instead.
So that means when Pecharunt finally got it’s strength back it realized it was in the future where the old couple were long gone, so I guess it tried to take everything when it awoke to cope with the failure and loss. A sad tale that was of its own doing.
This is a cool backstory and all, but I feel it would have been more appropriate if literally any small portion of this was mentioned in game.
who will tell this story everyone except for ogerpon is dead the old couple is probably dead too. this is the kind of story that cannot be tell in canon, outside of canon is the only way to do so.
Did you read their Pokedex entries? They mention the toxic chain gave them powers or transformed them. I thought to myself looking at them it would be cool if to see where they got them from, or know why. It really stands to reason to assume their chains came from somewhere when you look at them... So I guess it was hinted at in the game, you just didn't notice.
@@xephionsaketzu Just make it so that the pokemon could talk with the help of the people that it controlled. They did stuff like that in the past.

The writig ? The writing of the epilogue is only chicken dance dude. The real story is here on yt, and that’s really sad for us who played the game
@@matthew_1219 Someone had to write a script for this video
So Pecharunt only mistake was wanting increase affection the unnatural way. The loyal 3 weren't really evil but lead astray. Unfortunately pokemon don't know the concept of money as it could of gotten a mask maker to make one so it only did what it thought would make it owners or parents happy which was take someone Elses. Everyone was a victim in this story. still interesting how a pure grass type killed 3 poison types single handedly due to pure rage.
And grievously injured a 4th might I add, said 4th having an absurd defense stat
Thank you for giving us this back story for Pecharunt! I really liked this style of storytelling, and I definitely enjoyed the Epilogue content in-game. I am looking forward to see what come next!
Why was this not told in the game I would rather it be in the game then on RUclips after finishing it
Because anyone that knew is dead or can't talk.
Budget cut probably
Agreed xxx
@@Rudoku1 that doesn't mean it couldn't be told as kind of pecharunt remembering it.
Cause then it would give away to children that the loyal 3 are the bad guys (kind of, this makes me think that pecharunt is the bad guy)
I would love to see the story in the game. It would have built more suspense in the game.
Wow, I loved it! This kind of backstory is what I really want to see more of in Pokemon. It's nice to have a sort of origin and motivation story for Pecharunt and the loyal 3. These kinds of stories make the legendary Pokemon so much more interesting. It's a million times better than just handing us some random new mythical Pokemon through a DLC code with no context about who the Pokemon is, why it's so important to be considered legendary, what it's personality is like, etc. Please do more of this in the future! The little mini story event that Pecharunt was distributed through was really fun and I greatly enjoyed this follow up story video that expanded on the lore and origin story of Pecharunt and the Loyal 3. I still hope that we see what the loyal 3 looked like before they were corrupted. Maybe they're Pokemon from a region we haven't visited yet? Though it looked to be a clearly Japanese-inspired region, but apparently somewhere far away from Kitakami? I'd also still like to know how the Loyal 3 were resurrected, who Ogrepon's trainer was and how the old couple from this story knew about Ogrepon's masks when they lived so far away.
Gotta love that no one in this gen is a true villian. Every bad guy is a victim of unfortunate circumstances that made them do bad things but their intentions were good.
The Ruinous Quartet:
Nah that's actually crazy. Pecharunt, the Pokémon who had the power to bring out the desires of people, ended up falling because of its desire to be loved by the couple who cared for it. And here I was thinking it was trolling just cause.
Wow. What a great expansion of their lore. In a way, almost no one was truly the bad guy. It would have been nice, though, if they actually put this in the epilogue instead of "haha mochi dance"
Actually, it's implied that this lore is fake. This is the story told by the perspective of Pecharunt, when in actuality we already know the truth from the game:
Pecharunt's a selfish entity that only seeked affection. The Loyal 3 were intoxicated by the mochi, rather than "Pecharunt helping them", and you'll also notice not once did it mention Pecharunt killing the human, rather it changed to "we ran".
So yes, this is the fake legend that the people worshipped from the Loyal 3, when the story we hear in-fame is the real story of the Lousy 3.
It kinda makes sense why the lore wasn't included since Pecharunt was unknown until someone found it in the forest. It wasn't with the Loyal Three's bodies so Pecharunt wasn't found and therefore wasn't worshipped or even discussed. And the old couple didn't live in Kitakami so none of the civilians would have known who they were. The Loyal Three were barely known by the residents but were named as such because of a misunderstanding. If Pecharunt was with the others when they were found, it most likely would have also been worshipped and praised.
@@rayplaysgamesrpg7233 ...In-universe, the story didn't mention killing the Human because Pecharunt was not present in the cave. Only the Loyal Three were, and Pecharunt likely was only told by them that they retreated after acquiring the masks.
They did not know the severeity of the Injuries or if the Man needed immediate medical treatment, as they were likely panicking.
...And note that in-game, Pecharunt does not go into a Berserk fit at the sight of Ogrepon or Taunt Ogrepon, but instead, Ogrepon is the one who goes berserk upon seeing Pecharunt. This just means that the Tale is only being Told from the perspective of Pecharunt, meaning there are details missing from both halves of the story, i.e, Pecharunt not knowing that the Loyal Trio actually killed the Human and drove Ogrepon into a state of Beserk Grief.
Ogrepon only knew that Pecharunt and the Loyal Trio had killed her friend, stolen her masks and were apparently celebrating their crime... While Pecharunt only knew that the Loyal Trio had managed to acquire the masks to make his Meema and Peepa happy (Poke-Term for Mama and Papa), and did not fully understand what his actions caused.
In the end, either way, Pecharunt's actions were in the end, all for nothing. His retainers were slain, he was put into a critical state and was forced to withdraw into his shell to recover, he has outlived his Meema and Peepa by well over a century, and had gotten Ogrepon's dear friend killed... Nobody got what they wanted in the end.
...The better question is, how will the story go after this? Will we learn the otherside of the story in the game? Or is this just it?
So All Pecharunt ever wanted was to make its owners happy and thought he wasn’t doing anything wrong, but it never noticed that its poison would affect others badly.
Such a shame the story of this creature has to be in a video and not in the DLC.
It's also very sad because this old couple cared for Pecharunt and they are most likely dead now and poor Pecharunt doesn't know and is now in a pokeball owned by the protag and doesn't get any form of good ending.
Like all it wanted was attention and love but didn't understand that it could get that without constantly fulfilling requests.
I WILL CARE FOR IT.
Yes, mainly because the old couple's request was not for them to STEAL the masks, Maybe to ask someone to make one for them, but he wouldn't understand either.
I disagree, from the beginning pecharunt showed selfish motivations. He is not a victim in this story. His actions brought him a bad end.
@VictorSilvax idk man, all he wanted was to be loved
@@VictorSilvax Not exactly, Pecharunt never outright meant harm by serving his Mochi. I mean if it did then stuff that the couple asked for would have related TO Pecharunt. But it was everything the old couple wanted.
Not saying that Pecharunt is all good either it did still kill a man and got other pokemon to steal masks.
But it isn't a bad Pokemon, I mean Bewear has a crushing grip that hurts but when it hugs someone that doesn't make it a bad Pokemon because it can't control it's grip.
Pecharunt didn't seem to feed the old couple out of malice, it just didn't understand that the way it showed affection was also harming it and others.
I was literally talking about this to a friend yesterday and now we know the story.......i feel bad for Pecharunt now but, it went about everything the wrong way.
It's the story of momotaro and now they made peacharunt a tragic figure.
Sort of. It's weird. Pecharunt wasn't bad intentioned, he acted out of a desire and need for love. But he did mind control people on purpose, so he is not faultless. However, he is a pokemon and probably was a child, so can he be blamed for not knowing better?
How do we hold super powered children accountable when they are wrong but no one literally could have taught them to know better sooner?
According to Ogerpon the answer is Bonk! Now we know
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Avataro Sentai Donbrothers also takes inspiration for its own plot from the story of Momotaro.
Pecharunt is a living pecha berry. Which makes me think if we’ll ever get more pokemon based on berries in pokemon
It does have runt in its name,so it's easy to assume it has siblings.
Where does it say that it's a living pecha berry?
And a pecha berry is poisonous? Makes sense
Its based off of Japanese folklore. A baby being birthed from a peach or something.
Could be cool
I feel like this is trying to make Pecharunt sympathetic but it already had the love of the old couple but then he enslaved them with greed because he wanted more love.
i wish that pecharunt could see the old couple again, at the crystal pool or somewhere else. also the fact that pecharunt told the loyal three to protect it when it's higest stat is defense makes me laugh a bit
edit: just realized that pecharunt's hands are in the shape of hearts
They're meant to be the shape of a peach, which is naturally kinda heart-shaped, due to the whole thing with Momotaro being born out of a peach cut in half.
Because its nature is timid. It's likely not confident enough.
@@EmperorOfTamarins @MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: I like that, especially because of Donbrothers, and, not just the show in general, but, especially, The Don Momotaro Alter specifically, because, the peach themed defense mode.
Cool motive, still murder
For real though I hope we get more pokemon backstories. Those are always fun
It's a beautiful video but I have no idea why this isn't in the game
Yeah - a lot of people that play the games and have the DLC probably don't even know Pokémon has an official RUclips channel to find this

they just intentionally keeps some of the lore vague because the mystery is more fun The games in the 80s that satoshi Tajiri and sugimori grew up on were like that -source DYKG
If only this story was in game, most players arent subscribed to the youtube channel
Would people pay attention to the cutscenes though?
It feels good to hear both sides of the story now.
omg this makes the loyal 3 look so much cuter aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
also respect for the human who managed to square off against Okidogi and Fezandipiti
They basically told the story of momotaruo. For those who dont know, its an old japanese folktale about a child born from a peach and raised by an old couple who defeated ogres with the help of a dog, a monkey and a fesant to protect his village
Edit: in this case pecharunt is the peach child and the loyal three are the other animals but they did bad deeds instead of good ones
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Right, especially because of Donbrothers.
Did you notice okidogi and fezendipity sweating after fighting the and the fact that he managed to secure at least one mask. Who is this guy and what is he made of?
Aw come on don't make me feel bad for this mon, Ogerpon had her rough times and so did Pecharunt. Both such poor souls.
I love though how we finally see the actual Momotaro tale unfold after seeing all the mon that presented the characters.
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: I like it, too, especially because the announcement of Hidden Treasures Of Area Zero came literally a day after Avataro Sentai Donbrothers, the 46th season of Toei Company’s Super Sentai series, which was also inspired by the story of Momotaro, ended.
I love the fact that Fezandipiti is only there for emotional support
Kinda wish every mythical had a mini story in the game like pecharunt did.
so kitakami is near sinnoh/hisui
Momowarou!
Switching in Ogerpon and any of the three in the battle against Pecharunt gave a couple of little bonus interactions. They were a nice touch.
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Right, especially since those bonus interactions, mostly because they exist at all, remind me of Donbrothers.
What if we could have other mad little interactions in future games, like if someone threw out a Zangoose against a Seviper xD
So neither Pecharunt and the loyal three are from Kitakami and they are old enough to be alive when Basculegion wasn’t extinct…
Interesting that they are expanding the amount of old Pokemon that were alive back in the days. Even if the Okidogi, Munkidori and Fezandipiti that we know aren’t the true self because of Pecharunt’s chains they’re probably the last of their species currently (somehow) alive.
Now I’m glad I caught my Pecharunt in a love ball
Love balls are for catching Pokemon of the opposite gender compared to yours(which by the way, the bonus worked on the same gender in Gold and Silver).
@@azazel166Doesn't matter, it's a guaranteed catch.

Wow! Theyre kinda making me like these guys... even though they're the villains.
I really want a legends game involving kitakami now.
Love the little stories.
So that's why my Ogerpon had dialogue when I threw it out in battle against Peacharunt.

i haven't played the newer games but this is a really nice story
That is a very sad story indeed
Put that damn thing in the game guys, why we got a chicken dance instead of this? Tell me
So pecharunt isn't really evil
no he still is he is greedy and he poison his only caretakers just so they give it more praise thats is evil not super evil but evil nonetheless
Good and evil are just social constructs. Every action is based on a individual or group's perspective and goals which are valid. But we, as a society, decided that if actions lead to the harm of others, they're wrong.
Pecharunt is like a pet cat
@@xephionsaketzu It seems it was a case of "Oblivious Evil". Pecharunt did not realize that the Mochi he was giving his caretakers was poisoning them and their minds. He just thought the Mochi was delicious and that they loved the Mochi.
@@xephionsaketzuI wouldn't call evil him because it's kinda like darkrai type of situation. Only different is darkrai know that nightmare is bad meanwhile Pecharunt doesn't seem like he knows his power is bad. It's seem like Pecharunt have the mind set of a child so could really call him evil if he didn't understand that what he did is wrong?
"Munkidori could see the future" guess it saw the beatdown coming there way then
So the loyal 3 origin species are from that mysterious new japanese region pecharunt came from, or a china one since theytraversed the sea
It's from Japanese region, because it's based on the Japanese folk tale Momotaro
@@b.d.s8662 @MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Right, also, Avataro Sentai Donbrothers, because that Super Sentai season is also inspired by the story of Momotaro.
Pink & black just goes well with each other tbh, color scheme wise
I KNEW IT!
Knew the Loyal Three were because of Pecharunt.
I feel like the region pecharunt came from we'll see the original forms of the loyal trio
If we take the end of the epilogue and it "losing" breaking the hold it had on those "infected" with the mochi, then its very likely that at the moment Ogerpon KO'd Pecharunt the original owners/parents of Pecharunt may have snapped out of their mochi fueled daze, though if that was the case like in the epilogue it means they might have "awoken" from what may have a been a several year long "dream" where they had a strange purple Pokemon/child.
The story are quite the same as the momotaro story
It's what it's based on but reversed
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: I like that, especially because the plot of Avataro Sentai Donbrothers also takes inspiration, rather heavy inspiration, in that, from the story of Momotaro.
I felt like pecharunt would have started to grow a deep hatred towards ogerpon and waiting its time to return to get what it had gone there to steal in the first place eventually leading it to evolve into something stronger to get the masks and prevent ogerpon from sealing it away again into a deep slumber having the player and ogerpon deal with it together in present time almost like in sword and shield with zacian and zamazenta plus the player preventing eternatus from reeking destruction but instead a peach turning everyone into zombies and probably spreading more of it mochi and making more people zombies and do it bidding leaving places without resources and such to please it probably and most likely dead owners
So that’s why it was going crazy throughout Kitalami, it wanted to satisfy everyone, but there are still questions I have
What was the large beam created at the monument? Pecheraunt was asleep at the time so it couldn’t be the reason for the revival.
And given its powers stated here, I don’t know if it even is powerful enough to create such a massive beam like that.
It has to be something else right??????
As others have pointed out, it probably would have been better to include this lore as part of the game itself. It recontextualizes both Pecharunt as a threat (It seems to be more of a well-meaning idiot who doesn't really understand that it's doing wrong) and the three weirdos, who are straight-up just brainwashed victims even this long after the events.
So, in a crazy way, this is the story of Momotaro in reverse...interesting, very unique
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Agreed, and, this actually reminds me of Donbrothers, not just because of the plot, but, also, because there are current and former Donbrothers in the show that spawn their own personal iterations of Donbrothers’ monsters of the week, The Hitotsuki. There is Shinrai, a former Saru Brother who lost his powers because he used them for personal gain, and transformed into the Shinkenger-themed Hitotsuki, SamuraiKi, out of his desire to find out why the main Saru Brother, Shinichi Saruhara, fights. Then, there is Ryuji Inui, a street musician who temporarily becomes Inu Brother, and transforms into the second iteration of the Goseiger-themed Hitotsuki, TensouKi, due to said Hitotsuki being attracted to Inui’s desire to meet his girlfriend, Shoko. And, then, there is Tsuyoshi Kijino, the main Kiji Brother, who spawns a lot of Hitotsuki from him. There is the Carranger-themed GekisouKi, the Sun Vulcan-themed TaiyoKi, the Gaoranger-themed HyakkujuKi, and, HyakkujuKing, and, finally, a demonic version of his normal Kiji Brother form, exclusive to The Donbrothers G-Rosso Stage Show, known as KijinoKi.
I wanted to catch it in the masterball, but didnt want to use it, so I used a love ball. Now I'm really glad I used the love ball
That's the first cutest villain story ever🤣🤣🤣🤣.
*edited after seeing the conclution*
Yep. Definately a villain.😢
If they weren’t possessed by Pecharunt, would they be Fighting,Psychic and Fairy? Or would they have different types.
Not exactly, they might have had their wishes granted to become a new type, at the cost of also becoming part Poison type. From their appearance, Okidogi might have been a rockruff both have collars and similar faces- and similar personalities , Munkidori a Chimchar (they have the same rear end pattern and body shape), and Fezandipiti might have been a Swanna or Cramorant , both Pokemon who likely would wish to be even more beautiful - all of these Pokemon can be available in Kitakami with Chimchar of course being given to you possibly by Jacq
And that everybody is how mochi mayhem started
This makes it seem like Ogerpon’s companion didn’t die…
Maybe he left to get more masks since only one remained and something happened to him along the way?
Maybe he didn’t survive along the way from his injuries?
this is very cool and insightful, but why was this not in the epilogue itself and had to be a separate lore video later on
