- Here is my first GWR locomotive from the late 19th century. It was used on the London to Wolverhampton and London to Swindon express services from its introduction in the mid-1870s until well into the Edwardian period. The locos were rebuilt and altered several times during their lifetime so I've aimed to make a model which represents the class during most of its operational life. At the moment the loco is with Bob my beta tester. Hopefully, there will not be too many issues! Then, as usual, the loco will be available to download from my website. I'm aiming for early in January 2022.
A beautiful model! I had not checked the website for some time so one can imagine my excitement when I found a host of new Great Western locomotives to download. The Queen Class is graceful machine, and a smooth operator - I gave her trials on my light railway route, and in DCC mode was stunning to see, going, admittedly, rather more briskly then the 25mph speed limit! In cab mode, however, I was a little disconcerted to find no provision for coal and water, and to find myself 50psi down after three miles. She could not release the train brakes to restart on just 73lbs of steam - decreased alarmingly quickly to 55 the moment I cracked the regulator. Luckily, I'd got the (equally well modelled) Armstrong Goods in the session, which had been blowing off for some time by now - and she came to the rescue. (Incidentally, the safety valve steam exits the whistle of the Armstrong - (attachment point misplaced?)) I have both Armstrongs and they are both beautiful - (the brass texturing especially - this is shared on all the recent models and is simply stunning!).
Hi. I transferred the water and coal loads to the tenders just recently. Also the Queen class loco has a new enginespec made by KotangaGirl who tested it on the West Somerset line. Make sure you have the latest version as I uploaded a kuid2 cdp with the new enginespec onto my website after doing the update. Thanks for the glitch on the attachment point, I'll fix it and reissue at my next update. Glad you like the locos. I'm currently making a couple of GWR Toads to give a bit of variety for what's available. These will be followed by the Iron Mink and then some GWR cattle vans.
@@ing4trainz ah, good to hear. I'll download the latest when I'm next at my computer. (Say, will your Toad include the earlier open-veranda version? Not something I've ever seen made in Trainz.)
Great work!
Thank you for bringing these amazing machines to trainz.
You're very welcome. It should be available in a week or so.
This is a beautiful looking model!
Thanks. You also posted needing an enginespec for Prometheus, the Rover broad gauge loco. Go to my website/guest and download the Iron Duke spec. It may show a warning in CMP but it works fine in my TANE and TS19.
