Saw this performance when it was aired (2002?) & loved it. But I really wish they had kept the recording going a few seconds longer, when Conan came out, & said, "I hope those weren't ours," referring to the drum set.
This aired the night before my band, which consisted of me and my teenage buddies, played the first bar gig of our lives. This was what I was thinking about before I played my first real show.
You know i got banned from this site for sharing this viedo a few years back,Happy to see it back up as its the best version i've seen em do of it live. classic.
Eduardo F. Lopes I give a fuck. For many years. He’s just fantastic. As is this band and they still are. But indeed, apart from us no one gives a fuck. I saw them live last week and the totally surprised me with an excellent and IN TUNE show!
@rparas34 I think the video may have been slowed down a little (which would move the pitch down too) to bypass the automatic copyright infringement notice that RUclips flags up for recordings from TV shows. The tuning for this version of the song is a semitone lower, so I'm guessing the footage and the pitch of the music was changed to make sure it even could be uploaded to RUclips. For what it's worth, this is one of my favourite performances of this song.
So you're defining good music on how hard it is to play? Tut tut. Sounds like someone's measuring the songs by guitar solos again. It really is a shame what guitar hero has done to the music listening population. Okay that was a little much. To say you don't like them is one thing. To say they have no talent is another. They have a lot of talent in songwriting and composition. A LOT
I'm not poking fun of the singer, just stating fact, the singer is singing this song 85% flat & out of key. So what exactly do you people mean that he's singing this song so well? Is the actual recording worse than this? I just don't get it and I'm not being sarcastic. This is the first time hearing of this band and don't get this in the slightest.
Trail of Dead is probably the most criminally underrated band of all time
I totally remember this when it aired and loved it!!
This was on Conan in case anyone was wondering. Recorded it way back when.

Is this the best performance of this song ever? Prob.
Un-real. They are seriously one of the best bands around.

dudes need to play bass like this dude. #dude
I remember being a 16-year-old drummer, watching this, and being inspired. 16 years later I still am tbh
This was the first time I ever heard of this band, was on this show at least 10 years ago. Been my favorite ever since.

I bought this album (like, the fucking CD) the day it came out. How old school am I?
So did I! I was a big fan of Madonna and bought this one as soon as it was available...one of the greats.
3:31 I remember being 15 and thinking this was the coolest shit ever
I feel like Jason Reece is one of those drummer that need way more credit for his skills.

Seeing them tomorrow night in Denver.

Fuckin' awesome!
I had a tab for this song that was in standard e, if thats the case then they're playing a half step or more down in this vid. I might be wrong
Conrad has a tutorial on their YT page
I just realized Conrad looks like the stage fright kid 'Funniest kid ever!' video. haha! Just poking fun. Conrad rules.
choon!!
Sonic Youth???
did they make any other awsome songs like this???
Yeah
If you like Source Tags and Codes, check out the Tao of the Dead album... one of my favorites!
Another Morning Stoner
Is it just me or does he suffer while having to scream... :-D
Love this song!
This song rules. And Conrad kinda looks like a vampire. And not the shitty Twilight kind either.
