What a lovely couple and beautiful garden! I can't even imagine having that vision or where to start - but when Tom said it didn't happen overnight - it has been over 30 years - and one plant at a time, how true. Ram's vision of what she wanted to see from the dining room was such a good approach and it paid off. Well done, Ram and Tom. Heaven on earth ❤

Yea! I have been waiting for this video. I don't even know where to begin, I have so many thoughts.....thank you Jim, thank you Ram, thank you Dr. Giberson! I'll give you two thoughts. 1.) Really enjoyed hearing about how Ram and Tom met and settled down in Athens, GA. 2.) Per Ram, totally not true that if you plant a lot, you have to water a lot. If you plant in stories, they all work with each other bringing food to the root. "Don't be scared, your plant needs friends." (Haha. Good one, Ram!) This was a light bulb moment for me. I have always viewed more plants as more work. But really, over time, it's the forest floor. It's nature. Thanks, Jim. I learned a lot.

Ram and her husband are as delightful as their garden is. Ram is an artist and her garden is her amazing pallet. I love that she doesn't use harmful chemicals and lets her garden thrive naturally. I appreciate her words of encouragement so much. Ram and Tom's wisdom for working with nature, and from their hearts, shows in every plant, tree, pond, rock, flower, and path.

It has been decades to build this garden successfully in a large plot of land. So much patience they have. Amazingly impressive job they have done. So many plants collections. It's a true gem of all gardens Jim has taken us to see. They are such a lovely couple and Ram, she has a lot of energy and passion to her garden. Goosebump to watch ❤️

I just found this and OMG I am so in love with this beautiful gardens and ponds you have created. When you said you found your passion I totally understand. I have that passion also. I am currently 77 but my daughter who knows nothing about gardens but loves to look at them is allowing me to transform her property to whatever I desire. I see that there are so many new gardeners, and they should know that the pleasure of it is in the building, the saving up for a new tree or idea or addition to the garden that is so fulfilling. If everything was move in ready with your garden, what’s the fun of that? Some of my best successes have been years after what I thought would work-didn’t…and the garden and my experience grew into a better way, better idea, the lead-in to something else….

I can see the love and care that has gone into this garden. Thirty years and she is still passionate. That says a lot. Thanks for sharing your beautiful garden. I have been at it 20 years and I still dream about new ideas and plant combos to improve my perennial beds. I look back on all the mistakes and misplaced plants that were all part of learning and I wouldn't change a thing.

These people are hard workers and very creative. She had a vision and she went with it and look at this beautiful place. He is very supportive of her. Most beautiful place and I hope to use some of their ideas this year because we built a new home and there is no landscaping at all. Hope I can create at least a little part of what they have. I am 67 but I love gardening and landscaping and miss our old place. We downsized because it was just too much but I still need a relaxing place outside.

Fun couple and fabulous property. Loved listening to the passion they have for gardening. Loved their life story. We have a similar personal story coming from 2 countries, and buying 4 acres of mountain trees/bush 34 years ago and building our garden plant by plant, area by area, ripping areas out when plants no longer liked and redoing over and over. Only real gardeners can relate. Thank you so much for sharing this garden.
