Your Dad (who works like a Trojan) taught all of you work ethic, please teach that to your kids (you will have them one day Yuri !). Blessings guys and have a great week end.
Nice to see you elbows deep into your dad's job. He has passed on so much knowledge and experience to all of his sons that you guys will never be short of a bob or two as long as you keep on working. I did an apprenticeship on plant machinery starting in 1983, worked on lots of Cat D7s and D8s and this little skid steer looks like toy with it's hydraulic drive motors compared to those horrible things I worked on. I hate working on "yellow machines"
Nice work. Make sure to use loader arm stop when boom is up working on machine. I work around equipment daily things can happen fast. My buddy ended up in hospital for 2 months when ram dropped and pinned him and his head
What a bonus !! More than one hour off nice heavy machine job !! And you just fixing this complicated Job with a good working Team !! So much fun to watch how this job was turning to a good ending. And as a extra bonus: so saved $ 20.000 !!!!!.Super video !!!!
Proud of you guys, as my father always said...you just have to WANT TO bad enough and you can pull of anything. And obviously you guys have that drive.
i see this myself with so many guys on you tube, even them there Goonzquad boys are always working on their knees on the floor, i can't do that anymore from having done it myself for years, i ache so much now, a nice big solid built wooden bench on industrial casters so you can shuv it where you like, bash seven bails out of it - one of my mates has one in his shop, its great and is the perfect workmate, you can even dump a full engine on it working at a descent height, and no worries about damaging the surface or what your working on
I'm very impressed with your fortitude and determination as a family and working together. There is better ways to do that job, but non the less you got it done and save a bunch on money. Remember these days, because they will pass very fast and before you know it you are aged seniors and wonder where all that time went. Great job !!!!!!!
ýeeeaaah buddies,Ive been asking a long time for a colab between the brothers, will have to settle for half of you guys with your Dad working together for now.Your unity is a great might, keep it together guys.
Great video! I just bought a used 277b with the exact same ASV undercarriage. At some point I'll have to replace the undercarriage, or at least get in there and replace some components but not for a bit as the machine I bought came with new tracks and some boggie wheels, etc replaced but just not all like what you guys did. So I'm educating myself on what I'm up against with this ASV undercarriage system. You guys did a great video so it'll help when it's my turn. My 277 didn't come with the track tensioning ratchet or "tool" as it's referred to in the manual for the ASV undercarriage for tensioning the tracks, so I ordered one from Cat (not cheap!) for occasional track tightening adjustments. But you guys made your own with a pry bar with a couple sleeves welded onto the side on the one end that slides into the top boggie wheel. Nice pry bar idea man! And certainly not what I paid Cat for my track tensioner "tool". I almost think your pry bar idea would work better than this track tensioner "tool" I bought from Cat. So, again, great idea. Nice work overall! I'm so jealous you have a CnC cutter! Great video!
I've seen guys use the machine to get the tracks on. In the example of the front right track being off, you would spin to the right to use the friction to push the track on. I'm pretty sure this is frowned upon but it worked.
That type of machine and undercarriage is meant to work in soft materiel like sand. Not rough terrain or rocks. Great job on the rebuild and seeing Your dad in there.
I really appreciate Yuri’s comments regarding wasting time and paint on those cat track bogies but I wouldn’t be able to resist cleaning it all off and giving it a nice coating of black Hammerite gloss 😁
Thanks for sharing. Looks like a pain in the rear. We sold our 287b because it was time to do the same thing you guys did we got quoted $10k with tracks. Wasn't worth for a $25k machine.
We want to see a collab with Robbie Layton, and then Fab Rats and MORR that would be so awesome to interact with your different skill sets and cultures.
After all that hard work, you guys may need to rest a day before you finish the Austin.I'll wait because,"I want the Austin",and I know it'll be awesome after you're all done.
oh dear another one wanting the Healy haha, you know what will happen, you'll have them fancy old mans driving gloves, a flat cap, and join all them Austin Healy owners clubs, you'll get a caravan next and all i can add, its all down hill from there - i know i used to own a Land Rover - but all you need to be careful is when your on the open road and them huge rigs overtake you, you will feel very very intimidated being so small
A piece of advice for you to take or leave. The outer bearings on the drive sprockets are pro an to fail so what I did was removed the outer seal on the bearings and I drilled and tapped the plate that is held on with a snap ring and installed a grease fitting in that plate and I just give it a shot of grease every couple of weeks. You have to pick the spot where there is room for the grease fitting to stick through the plate. 15 years now and no more failed bearings.
I'm surprised that the Cat system is so different to other manufactures, plus it looks like it is so much harder to replace the undercarriage, I think maybe it's so they expect to get all the repair work, which won't be cheap, surely it's not just a poor design, but done on purpose, where people cannot repair it themselves easily, if so, then you guys proved them wrong, well done.
i need to develop a Bob Cat (other brands available, hmmm Kubota) team, with some minor modifications, one i need them to have metal tracks and fitted with mulchers as standard be nice to have a full on tour of your Bob Cat, including some specs, images of chassis plate and specs etc, is yours a hi flow hydraulic system, i know some kit won't run unless it has a hi flow system i can see ya dad itching to get his fingers dirty on something cool great job Yuri - good to see you on heavy plant machinery - you got all dirty n sweaty, nice haha great job on the CNC stuff Nate great job dad !!
@@23RD your on dude - be happy to play, but i need to get in contact with Kubota first, i'm looking for a company to sponsor the project with full backing, mobile maintenance etc - my project is secret for now and can't be mentioned here as yet - i know from the Goony boyz they got a cracking deal - but i felt sure at one point Kubotas were manufactured not far from Chattanooga - any ideas on that?

Do it for the old man! You are all going to heaven! Nice job.

Damn never seen Paul so dirty and Yuri is the man..great video!!
Great job guys 🫡
Gday guys?
You have to fix Hydraulic leaks cause it’s sucking air where the leak is. It’s just need Orings and stuff to rebuild it. It’s quite simple.
Thanks for sharing. Looks like a pain in the rear. We sold our 287b because it was time to do the same thing you guys did we got quoted $10k with tracks. Wasn't worth for a $25k machine.

Dang! Took all of you to get that thing done. Good team work but maybe call the tread guy out next time. :)
We are the tread guys now 😉

This is the stuff of ball bag hernias

It’s an ASV undercarriage.
Great channel 😊😊😊😊😊
great video ,, I'm in the process of replacing the asv tracks and needed info on how to remove them
i need to develop a Bob Cat (other brands available, hmmm Kubota) team, with some minor modifications, one i need them to have metal tracks and fitted with mulchers as standard
be nice to have a full on tour of your Bob Cat, including some specs, images of chassis plate and specs etc, is yours a hi flow hydraulic system, i know some kit won't run unless it has a hi flow system
i can see ya dad itching to get his fingers dirty on something cool
great job Yuri - good to see you on heavy plant machinery - you got all dirty n sweaty, nice haha
great job on the CNC stuff Nate
great job dad !!
Let’s build our own

Andrew Camarata would be proud
Yuri, I seen Paul on Fab Rats use a 18 volt drill to tap holes, maybe try it next time to save time...💡
I did, metal was too thick and my drill chuck was not strong enough to hold the tap.
