Fun fact about the Taunt MV, it was actually filmed in a part of Wilbur's old flat nicknamed the Doom Shack! It for some reason lacks cell reception and also has a boiler in it??? It is probably haunted. Also if you're curious, Wilbur actually did a video with Genius the other day breaking down CMWYL :)
hey sorry I probably just dont understand what you mean but whats wierd about him having a boiler in his flat thats like very common in england I got one too
@@emily-mae_yt okay so, there was a video on youtube that was uploaded a while ago but since then got taken down so i'll try to summarize it tw: blood, insects, death the doom shack is literally a closet which is connected to wilbur's room (a closet which has a boiler in it is kind of strange) and there used to be a single mattress in there with a blood stain on it, wilbur also does not know how old the building was and literally just across from the building there was a restaurant which he had never ever seen open but the lights were always on the room was also crawling with a ton of insects and bugs in general, also the building itself was just, really, really spooky, the downstairs bathroom was literally painted black (black isnt a great color to paint a bathroom because you would probably want some visibility) but the general theory is that it was painted black because dried blood is very easy to mask on a black background another spooky thing about the building is that there were two paintings in the attic, one was a drawing of a horse and one was of a girl with a pinwheel, the scary thing about these is that the background of the paintings looks like a room inside the building, which means that these paintings were drawn from inside the perspective of the building (i.e the old owners made the paintings) and well, the paintings were in a ''victorian'' style, which means that the original inhabitants of the building were very, very long ago and probably died in the building some of this stuff might be tw so thats why i added the tw on the top but, in general, the doom shack and the building itself is pretty spooky, hope this helped, if i could find you the video i would link it but i'm pretty sure the video's just been lost to time sadly ofc me summarizing it isnt quite as spooky as wilbur's storytelling so i would still urge you to try to find the video if your curious, but i hope this helped clear up some confusion
the thing i love about the taunt music video is how simple it is. they recorded it in wilburs house but it still looks so effective and i feel like it just works really well. sex sells is my favourite on the ep and one of my favourites out of all of their songs
has he listened to their cover of privately owned spiral galaxy? If not we need to have him listen to that next :D It’ll be great to show him a little bit of crywank too before he reacts to that at some point
You have to listen to there two of their covers Privately owned spiral galaxy and The perfect pair which (i believe) isnt officially released. You also have to listen to their acoustic version of Are u Alright, especially Tomorrow
I really love your reactions m8! was waiting for this one :D Sex sells used to be my personal favorite at the time, and It was also very underrated (same for Cause for Concern, it was even more underrated. such a great song.) 6:10 I believe (excuse me if I am wrong, it was a long time since Wilbur talked abt it and I watched it) that George(this guy in the chair) didn't laugh once. I really am a bit jealous of how he pulled this off LMAO
I think I like the way wilbur sings "to his flaaat" better in the acoustic version but still, I absolutely love these songs and its so cool seeing you listen to them for the first time. Your reactions are so cool.
a few things... georgenotfound only broke once when ash tickled his ear (you can see that in one of wilbur's behind the scenes tiktoks). lovejoy were kinda in a rush to finish making aya so wilbur had to use recordings he already had of his vocals. which is why he sings sex sells differently live. some lyrics are changed and wilbur holds the "alone" and it sounds really good. i definitely recommend listening. you should also listen to their cover of Privately Owned Spiral Galaxy by crywank! they just finished a US tour with crywank who opened for them. wilbur (and probably the others) are also fans of crywank so that was big for them :)
all 3 of these are still some of my all time favorite lovejoy songs maybe cause i get nostalgic everytime they come on cause i cant believe how far they've come but definitely bangers
Hey! You should add Oh Hellos! to your list! They have a indie-folk sound and its a brother and sister duo, and they aren't anything like you've shown on the channel. :D
hello!! time for some funny facts about the songs you reacted too; - they filmed taunt all in one take as george only broke character like once. - the only reason they made the mv for taunt was because george told wilbur that he wanted to be in a music video so two weeks later george was in a chair around the band. - sex sells is about wilbur's posh upstairs neighbour cheating on her husband with his downstairs neighbour and being the only one knowing - people do tend to take sex sells in a different idea about wilbur blackmailing her into confession but i guess art is up to the viewers perception. - cause for concern was actually supposed to have a music video but sadly was scrapped and we only have a couple clips shown on ash's channel about what it was going to be loving the reaction videos recently and I really think the next lovejoy related things you should react to some of the lovejoy interviews and the sloppy lovejoy set w/ tommy to get to know the band more, it really shows off their personality behind the music. (also i might of got some of these facts wrong but i can't be bothered to check so take these with a pinch of salt ahaha)
If I’m not wrong my boy Alan Osmundson is on those beautiful trumpets! He is incredibly nice!! You can see him as the pilot in Call Me What You Like music video or even physical on the trumpets in the Portrait of a Blank Slate music video!!! He also traveled with LoveJoy for their Across The Pond USA tour! I AM VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT MY BOY ALAN!!
Cause For Concern is one of the most underrated Lovejoy songs. It's incredible, and also I think their only use of a wah-wah pedal (Joe's guitar). I wonder if they use it live too.
You should listen to their no rain in Coronado EP, it’s 3 songs and 2 of them were scrapped and the one that was released was knee deep at ATP, Coronado and main character syndrome are the two others parts of main character syndrome were reused for Warsaw
thank you so much for this reaction!! you literally have the perfect blend of analysing both musicality and the meaning of songs! are you still planning to do a reaction to the other drunk version of losing face? :)
from what ive seen, youre a solo artist. With that knowledge, i shall recommend 2 solo projects that i love. "Abandoned pools" and "solstate" Both have got amazing debut albums (solstate's debut record isnt on streaming platforms, and AP's is only available in the US) and if you like early 2000's angsty alt rock (which you do i think) then both artists (and i cant stress this enough) should be on the list!!! pretty please 🥺🥺

If you love AYA (Are You Alright), the you'll love the acoustic version of the EP they released earlier this year!
I had the chance to see them live a couple weeks back.
and I'm telling you... Their music slaps even more when you're there
has he listened to their cover of privately owned spiral galaxy?
If not we need to have him listen to that next :D
It’ll be great to show him a little bit of crywank too before he reacts to that at some point
Taunt's music video was actually supposed to be something different, but on the day of recording it was raining so they had to do something else
cause for concern's bridge sounds so good live, genuinely life-altering

he broke character right at the end when joe (i think-) put his finger in his ear, but its right at the end of the video
THERE IS ALSO A ACUSTIC VERSION OF THIS
I think I like the way wilbur sings "to his flaaat" better in the acoustic version but still, I absolutely love these songs and its so cool seeing you listen to them for the first time. Your reactions are so cool.
lovejoy is actually the only indie rock band with a double kick drum😭
i love your reaction videos! i think youd enjoy listening to the acoustic aya songs! im pretty sure its called Anvil Cat-From Studio 4 !!

Also, fun fact: (As far as I know) the trumpets are done by Leandra Badruza, Zoe, and Isaac Beer.
They're the session trumpeters they use for live shows, idk if they were the ones who recorded the actual songs
love your content man! wishing everyone here a nice day/night

Wrong playlist justin lmao
Both playlists are in there! Both should take to the lovejoy and wilbur playlists last time I checked?
