Leeches are fantastic for all freshwater species and this highly mobile pattern is no exception. I've tied this one for carp, but it works great as a bead head or balanced pattern for indicator fishing.

Merry Christmas best of luck in the new year. Your a far more knowledgeable and better tier than me. Having said that I designed my own fly that catches the biggest trout in the lake. To me that looks like a great medium size trout fly. It's my inexperience and experience which led me to my variation that just catches the whoppers. Anyways as they say no fat fly's here.

I don't criticize tyers. You are obviously good at what you do. Anything I ever say about change is about how I might adapt it for my own greedy self!
I am curious as to why you set a piece of lead on the underbody and not just a bead head? Is it just to build the underbody up?? It is a very nice pattern and quite easy to change in colours, thank you!

It's to turn the hook over, weighting the shank in this way works with the material drag on the gap side to make the fly fish hook point up
