    I used to play sports in Pretoria and I remember parting in the exact streets shown here when we won the RWC but now it’s an absolute no go area - completely overrun by violent criminals, you can see for yourself how helpless the police are - what’s needed in South Africa’s cities is armed forces and curfews - it was only a matter of time before we went the way of the rest of Africa and there’s little hope of returning to order when these savages rule as they do

    • @punishedgloyperstormtroope8098
      @punishedgloyperstormtroope8098 2 года назад +1

      Good point, I think curfews and armed soldiers on the streets with assault rifles are the only thing capable of keeping law and order now. If soldiers were deployed on every street corner criminals might think twice. Civilian police are for civilised countries with law and order, South Africa needs military police. But post apartheid this might be politically hard

    I live in Pretoria and always avoid main city at night. If you have to go at night (dont go alone), roll slowly to every red light until it becomes green, and if you have to stop, leave at least 3 cars in front of you. That way you can at least speed off. Even stopping anywhere in SA during the day requires you to look at all your blind spots till you are moving again. The place is a beautiful shithole, and its becoming worse. Your life is worth more than having good weather and nice scenery.

    • @MrDomo66

      So I guess I will remain in Quebec city, Canada and his shitty 7 months winter time. You in SA you have no idea what is the joy of starting your car early in the morning at -35 celcius after a snow storm. But it's true we don't realise the safe place we live in here. Even for women safety is not a preocupation no matter the time of the day. ;)

    The police MUST start carrying R4 and R5 rifles in their vans and cars like years ago and not be afraid to use them. What a disgrace to have to retreat in the face of criminals! Shoot the criminals - this is a low level civil war with 20 000 murders a year in RSA. There should be no such thing as "no-go areas". We have this problem in Helenvale and Bethelsdorp as well and want the police to act with more force and less soft - soft approach. SAPS must shoot first and ask questions later. We nearly lost a brave officer last week in Malabar Ext 5 when he was shot in the back by a criminal - luckily he was wearing his bullet - proof vest. These criminals must face the death penalty. Yes MrGabrieljude we do need 2nd Amendment.

    • @edwardpennacchini7841
      @edwardpennacchini7841 6 лет назад +5

      Hi mwilson70201, we don't have anything like a second amendment in our constitution. The Communist government has enshrined all sorts of rights, but not the right to bear arms as yours does and I admire your country for that. Wish we had a strong pro-gun lobby group like the NRA. I like your question. Carrying weapons is nothing new, before firearms it was swords. Weapons have been around since day 1 and its all about the fight between good and evil and humans will never have peace on this earth. What I don't like is governments trying to restrict the rights of legal gun owners instead of focusing all their attention on illegal firearms. This is why RSA is awash in illegal firearms stolen from police, army and smuggled across the border NOT stolen from legal owners. The UK is particularly harsh with its laws which is not morally, ethically or legally correct. Your 2nd amendment protects the right to bear arms and I think Texas goes further with a "Castle Right" on defending your home.

    • @Swanesang91
      @Swanesang91 6 лет назад +3

      The problem is if you carry an R5 you immediately become a target. The crooks are jacked up on Nyaope and "protected" by Muti. In my opinion the problem lies with the conviction rate, witnesses not wanting to come to court because of negative sentiment towards the state of justice in the country and intimidation and police corruption. Then you have dockets going missing, police dropping charges due to corruption and so on. The corruption starts with the president. Guys in crime intelligence are collecting information implicating their own bosses. South Africans need to stand up to corruption wherever we see it, it is dangerous I know, but it is more dangerous to live in a country where no-one says anything about it and it goes unchecked.

    From someone who lived just behind the zoo in Pretoria, it wasn't uncommon for me to see this happening. I was robed the fist morning I moved there by a smash and garber. After braking my finger fighting him off, saving my cellphone a local gang about 6 guys robbed me from my possessions on hand including the cellphone all within the time of about 5 min.
    Remember that Pretoria is still safer than most large city in South Africa. Here in south Africa almost all robberies are done with weapons and very little if none with remorse for human life. Criminals will kill violently and with hatred towards there victims. Its exactly like this video or GTA played by a real life killer. I bet if the polices did confront the hijackers from this video head-on someone would have gotten killed.

    things are absolutely insane downtown, it's such a beautiful area being decaying cz some buildings aren't occupied and there's a lot of young homeless youth who fall into drugs, they do odd jobs or beg during the day and rob people at night. I once almost got robbed coming from jhb and my sister had been admitted for a panic attack at the hospital up the road there, but I'm from the township/hood so I bluffed my way out of it but intimidating them myself. I know better than to go there at night I just hope people stop driving through there at night, you could die for a simple phone or plastic watch which they'll sell for close to nothing.

When the cops came they helped us kick the crap out of him, they hand cuffed his ass to our gate in the back and had our German Shepard savage him for a bit then the cops dragged his ass away. They for sure want the streets cleaned up but they are far from innocent. When you live in South Africa you realise its never gonna change..... ever...... so you have this burning desire to take the law into your own hands. Thats why I moved to the UK. This is why I love private security. Law enforcement is great too, but sometimes they can be too underfunded or understaffed from budget cuts or not enough qualifying employees. In private security, if you pass a drug test, criminal background check, have a high school education or alternative; you can complete a security officer training course (40 hour training), and be on the job with the knowledge/training of basic marksmanship, handcuffing procedures, detecting suspicious behavior, communication with emergency services etc. Enough training to get the job done. In Mexico and other latin american countries, firearms are hard to obtain for private security, so they use something that's better in my opinion.
    They have a type of security service known as Dog Units. If alarms go off, or if they're called to visit a paying neighborhood, a private security Dog Unit will show up with a German Shepherd trained to chase down criminals running at speeds of 30/mph (faster than Olympic sprinters) and trained to bark at suspicious people. When a mugger see's the glowing eyes of a guard dog, they usually turn the other way. In central and south america, many criminals have had to get stitches from being bit by guard dogs. In the end, Dog Units prevents anyone from having to die. The dogs are trained to bite the arm with the weapon to disarm. The criminals will likely suffer from injuries, but it prevents the criminal and the security enforcement agents from having to get shot.

      Radg Bullhonkey.. In SA it's only easy to obtain a firearm if you're a criminal and there's no 2nd amendment ensuring the right to defend yourself by ownership of firearms. In order to own a firearm you have to pay for, take, and pass certified classes which takes a few months. Even after passing competency programs you have to draw up a motivation to be licensed for the specific firearm that you wish to buy(more time).. And that's what a liberal dream does, it makes ownership of firearms for self defense impossible so that only the criminals have guns. So there may be lots of guns, but only owned by those we don't want having them -aka the criminals. All in all it's a shit show..
      And ya, now look at Britain's crime problems

      noted... thanks for the correction... im not Afrikaans not even South African actually but i pretty sure that you would not tell someone ''voetsek'' in polite way.. as in back off... its more like telling someone to ''fuck-off''

    He says he's a couple of blocks away from the SA Parliament... Buddy, do you know that the SA Parliament is seated in Cape Town?...

      Henre Truter - Massive fail mate. Do you know that SA has 3 capital cities? Bloemfontein is the judicial capital, Pretoria is the executive or administrative capital and Cape Town is the legislative capital.

      Yeah, I know there's 3 Capitals, but Parliament isn't seated in Bloemfontein, nor Pretoria, it's in Cape Town.

    About 10 years ago ... someone stole my bike! It was outside (locked) during night time while I was sleeping. So nothing really violent. That's about the level of crime I have encountered here in Amsterdam during the last 20 years. Ofcourse, there is more severe stuff happening but a lot of it is between criminals
