Thanks for the videos Aaron. I was a manager for ShowBiz in the early 80's. By far my favorite job. I was really disappointed when the store I worked at in Michigan closed in early 1984. I'm still in the pizza business though.
There was a store in Detroit self-named the "SuperStore". The manager went way over the top making his store the greatest possible Showbiz Pizza Place. I want to find that guy again. Does this ring a bell?
therockafire the store I was at was called Detroit/Pontiac. It was store number 327. I definitely remember the colander head promotion. We did do, what our GM called "junk Decor". We put everything we could find from junk, to antiques everywhere in the store. Is this the store you are thinking of?
I always loved the way the characters were able to interact with the employees/staff in some shows where they bring out someone to show the audience something, like Johnny the Jockmo has came out into the spotlight for both the history of the colander show and Rolfes tribute to frank sinatra show.
Actually he would make an animatronic blue and Steve for a rare blues clues stage show at a nicktoons pizza and cafe Or at nick resorts punta Cana (RIP nick hotel😭)
This kind of creativity (and honestly funny material) is what the execs missed out on by pretty much robbing Fechter of his legacy. That's one creative dude. I would have loved that colander bit as a kid or a wry adult back in the day.
Okay, this guy lives in a completely different world from many of us. I recognize that Colander Head is the precursor to the Pastafarian 'religion' (re: Flying Spaghetti Monster).
This guy... so visionary, such a performance artist, so forward-thinking, such an engineer of dreams,... even though he frankly was robbed of a level of success and respect he should have enjoyed, he's left a wonderful mark on the world and in people's hearts. He has so much to be proud of! Good on you, Aaron! 👍
Ahhh to be unique and enjoy life on your own terms is to have slipped a chain? Sad for the clones and sheep of the world that some of us dare to be unique.....
@@DrKelseyGraham If not understanding why pitching wearing DIY decorated colenders to execs & owners of pizza restaurants and wondering why they didn't love it makes me a cloned sheep then in the spirit of the season I'll have to plead baaaa humbug. Don't get me wrong - I believe weird is wonderful. In the words of the great philosopher Willy Wonka, "A little nonsense now and then is treasured by the wisest men."
This guy talks about the ideas he had back in the day to enhance childrens experience when visiting a chain of restaurants he was associated with and does it in good fun, and that makes him mentally disturbed?...you people are so sad.
@@Alex-km9uw Trust me, there's a lot of other stuff that makes it clear that he's not all there. I don't feel like digging up all that dirt again but if you look into him a little more it becomes painfully obvious. I honestly feel bad for him more than anything. He's (or at least, he used to be) a clearly very creative and intelligent guy.
Jeff Howell and Bubba Wilson who were on the radio in Orlando 104.1 told this story once before. They were voice actors and singers for the characters in the Showbiz shows.
Happy Thanksgiving one and all!🍗🏈 I remember the Collander Day actually making the local news. They were interviewing the owner of the local Showbiz Pizza for the story. I think they also tied it in to the local food drive as well.
I had a Circus Pizza back home in St.Paul MN that had a Rockafire Explosion show. Was one of my fave things. I was sad when it went under and Chuck E Cheese bought the building and put in their stuff.
I’m working on my own colander, it’s not like the gray metal ones with long legs and holes in the handles made in the 80s but it’s still a wearable colander with round holes
Hey Aaron Chuck E. Cheese is getting rid of the animatronics omg right and made just made show bizz can reopen soon all Chuck E. Cheese animatronics will be thrown away and I believe there losing money
This guy's enthusium is adorable and contagious.

Everyone calls him “This Guy” but his name is Aaron
Imagine Aaron hosting an episode of Blue's Clues....

May you be touched by his noodly appendage 🍝
R'amen.
If I had the Rockafire Explosion, I have to admit...I'd have them doing dirty jokes and songs.
kinda like early PTT, eh?

How brilliant! Imagine anything like this at Chuck E. Cheese now.
Yay I loved the colander head movement I'm glad people are remembering these wonderful events hosted by Aaron Fecter.
Sounds like this guy's anchor to reality has slipped its chain.

Denise Boldea Wow, where was that Showbiz pizza?
@@Rockafirefan99 hmm,gee it's been so long I'm not sure I remember. It may have been in Canton Michigan. It became a Chuck E Cheese.
What a showman that Aaron Fechter is, was, and always will be. Shoot! Maybe if Aaron was in complete charge we'd still have Showbiz around these days.
Well they say geniuses are odd. I went to school with one. He was way out there also. Lol. I want one of those shirts he’s wearing.
That is one of the most awkward weirdest most amazing show I've ever seen in my life hahaha A+++++++an

I loved this video and the great artistic and collaborative show. Well done.💫
I vaguely remember putting a colander on my head in 1983 or 1984........is this when this happened?

True metaphysical parity can only be ascertained through the transdimensional luminescence of a colander.
It is known.
Always something new!!!!
Amazing
He is like in his 70s and he looks awesome!!!!!!!!!
I want whatever this Guy is on, Man.
........and to think of all the things I missed out on because I was born in 1985!!
I can just imagine me as a teenager working at Show Biz and being expected to wear a colander, and thus being obliged to quit. ;)
bagged
We had a Showbiz Pizza when I was a teenager 💕
Btw I love all ur videos :3
Anyone else feel the paint job on Mitzi's new mask looks a bit creepy. It looks too dark in contrast to her eyes when the spotlight's off.
Wait a minute... The Pastafarians have the colander head
Maybe this is where it started
Something completely depressing about this place
Fatz is hilarious!
Can you do a basics of animatronics
Wow! 😂

OMG, I LIVE IN SALINA KANSAS!! A LITTLE TOWN
