Haha. Anytime I ever have someone who has never ridden the Beast with me at KI, I force them to wait for their first ride at night. Every single time on that second drop before the helix, they always freak out because you can’t see the turn into the helix. It’s almost as fun to gauge their reaction as the actual ride is.
Just rode it last night in my favorite seat, right side of row 17, which is a non-wheel seat. You get that back seat whip minus a bit of roughness. My best ride ever was after fireworks, last train of the night (full train, so lots of weight) and a completely dark sky. Coaster Nirvana!
People knock the Beast's dumb layout but at night that's only an advantage. The Beast doesn't really have elements or predictable maneuvers, it just sort of runs around at random, and it picks up speed without you realizing it because it uses the terrain so effectively. This makes it insanely hard to predict what's coming next, even if you've ridden the Beast before, and it makes for an extremely chaotic ride. Not to mention that entering those tunnels at top speed in the pitch dark is like a surprise shotgun blast to the face. It's less of a roller coaster and more of being thrown into a kickboxing ring with a blindfold on.
My son and I had our first ride on Beast at night in August. We both could not stop giggling the entire ride! It was truly everything people say and more. One of my favorite coaster rides of all time!
I love the beast at night it’s such a unique experience! Steel vengeance is still my favorite coaster at night but the beast’s overall experience is just something else. Great video!
I've been riding The Beast since 1980 and it is my all time favorite roller coaster. The night ride on The Beast is THE best night ride I have ever experienced! The people in the station are just amazing and fuel the energy. I would highly recommend this ride at night or any time. A couple of stats. The Beast is the longest wooden roller coaster in the world and I believe the 3 longest of any roller coaster. It's 4 and half minute ride and about 7400 feet long. The ride covers 35 acres of land. That puts into perspective the size of this coaster.
took my daughter for her first night ride on it last night.. we had to wait for the fireworks as well and it added about an hour wait due to the shutdown but it was so worth the wait.. hearing my daughters (10 years old) scream next to be just added to the experience.

I got on the same Beast Ride you did this summer, at about 1030 after the fireworks. We did a Cedar Point/Kings Island trip this summer and the Beast at night had to have been my second favorite experience behind SteVe. It was absolutely out of control and wild.
I rode The Beast at night front row in 2013 and it was insane and extremely fun, the roughness of the ride is good enough that it adds to the character but doesn’t take away from the experience

That said the front row is the best place for the night ride. And the experience may very from day to day like any coaster. My last ride this summer was probably my best. It seemed everyone in the park was in a hurry to get home (except beast ops because kings island staffs that ride to the ops who want overtime). Which meant most of the rides were cleared and the lights were out. There was no light pollution and with the exception of the lift hill. Orions lights were out and you cant see that after the first drop unless you look up. It also helped that it was a full moon on my last ride.
The back at night is amazing. I still tell people that I once got on the last train out at 11:00pm. Like you said, it was rowdiest group I have ever experienced on The Beast.
i have a different experience with beast at night. I got last ride of the night and it was thunderstorming but they were still running the ride. it was pitch black until there was a random lightning flash that lights up the track in front of you. it was the coolest thing, especially when lightning went off at the top of the 1st lift hill seeing the whole layout in front of me
My brother and I once were in the last row, on the last train of the night with half the train filled with ride ops. You guys only added to the hype and it's the best way to ride The Beast. The second hill at night in the last row is the best roller coaster experience there is. Sadly, my request to turn off the trim brakes was denied. 😂🤣
I managed to snag 3 night rides on this bad boy last Sunday! Hadn't had a night ride on it for over 6 years, so this was worth the wait. Fantastic coaster at night, it doesn't normally scare me but I actually was concerned the ride was going to break off of the track and tumble into the ground. Crazy stuff! Absolutely love this thing.
The best night ride I ever got was on I305 the first week it opened. There was no light, no nothing back there in that part of the park. And also, it was - you know - I305.
If you think the beast is good at night, wait till you ride the Ultimate at night! Better ride than the beast, longer and with a better setting. Best night ride I’ve ever had
Millie is the best night ride at CP, gives a similar feel to the beast while also feeling like a roller coaster. A journey where the park kinda just...disappears. Steve has always been an overrated night ride imo, people just praise it bc Steve is the best ride in general
Beast was my favorite night ride, until I went to Holiwood Nights... The trimless night rides on Voyage are basically everything you just described, cranked up to 11. the hype from the crowd and ride ops is an 11/10, darting through the forest feeling up in the spaghetti bowl, the triple down in a PITCH BLACK tunnel, right after a turned off MCBR is something you can never forget... that is the one night ride that is truly not abled to be hyped up enough for the experience it gives
The reason it seems faster and louder is because the air is thinner at night and sound travels further and is louder because of that. Also as the air is thinner there is less resistance against the front of the train hence why it slows down less. If only a bit. Not to mention the fact that it's warmed up.
I rode the beast at night with the park manager with free admission to the park as his guest in about 6 years after it was built. All we could think of was oh God do not hit a deer , the park did not have a lot of rides then and there were deer. Lol it was a freaky ride cause we were in the front row freaking out about deer and laughing the entire time .
I was there in June and they weren’t open at night so I wasn’t able to get a Beast night ride. So I’m trying again next year, but I did enjoy the Beast during the day so there’s that

But, I thought it was great. The second drop into the tunnel was cool. I am so glad there were trim breaks before the last turn before the second lift.. very bumpy. But best night ride I have ever been on.
kinda disappointed about my trip this weekend. i went friday and saturday, saturday until close and friday for like 6 hours. beast was down all saturday, so i never got to ride it at night unfortunately. was really looking forward to it

Rode it Saturday night, I love it when the fog machine fog drifts over the Beast track. Makes it that much more awesome

All i thought was that beast was just a roller coaster with a plain layout i never knew that plain layout would change the whole experience at night

I was there yesterday and the beast was only down for a few hours in the middle of the day. It was open from at least 5 ish until close

Honestly the beast is better than mystic timbers because of the mystic timbers restraints
