Yeah yeah i assume everyone figured that much out akaza is a demon who had centuries the time to improve himself rengoku was still a young hashira so it was obvious however that does not matter there is nothing better and honorable than sacrificing yourself to save innocent lives
My mother is my favorite person on this earth, so seeing the heartfelt conversation between Rengoku and his mom had me sobbing. Not many movies can make me cry, but damn is this one a tear-jerker. So many loveable characters.
This movie was the hardest pill for me to ever swallow. Its just on a whole other level. The unfairness of it all. The Upper ranking Moons have not changed in over a hundred years. No matter HOW AMAZING a slayer you are, running into an upper moon is a death sentence. The power gape is IMMENSE.
Something some might have missed: The crow seen at the end of the movie is RENGOKU'S crow. It returns after calling for help/backup, but the battle had already been decided. It then carries on it's FINALE message to the Slayer HQ. :(

Rengoku’s mom’s spirit was really there, Let’s not forget that Tanjiro was trained by ghosts at the beginning of season 1, so ghosts/spirits are a thing in the demon slayer world.
If the fight feels unfair it’s because it is. The upper demons have been alive for centuries and Akaza in particular takes the time to train. He’s killed enough hashira to know the difference between their techniques thus the comment about not having fought a flame hashira. Even if Akaza couldn’t regenerate for some reason they would develop some other demon power or simply not fight recklessly with fists against swords. Personally I think Akaza fights this way to feel pain in a fight again because at their level they are so rarely challenged and when they are their reckless style shows potential recruits like rengoku the futility of fighting and the benefits of being a demon.
That's a good observation, I mean most people say its unfair for uppers to have crazy regen ability. But even if they are somehow unable to regenerate like that, they have enough battle IQ to change their stance and fighting style to avoid getting slashed so easily. Whatever any hashira does, the uppers are stupidly strong and will overwhelm them by hook or crook.

Rengokus death really broke me i found his last words really inspirational Rengoku won that fight despite the fact that he wasn't trained properly; became a hashira and held his own against one of the most powerful demons in the world because of his sacrifice there were no casualties and/or deaths on the mugan train. A true her for us all
the demon underestimated his will power at the end so he got caught by rengoku, but do you know if that uppermoon fought seriously and used 100% of his powers at the get go, Rengoku would die within a few hits. ? He was joking around the whole time, that's how weak that flame hashira is to him. I think only 3 hashira can go 1 vs 1 against upper moon 3 and still struggle for their life. All the hashira would die and never stood a chance and would need multiple help to fight against just 1 upper moon rank demon

He still dominated the slayer corps at the young age of 20, he had killed HUNDREDS of demons, and no one EVER died on Rengoku's watch. Just sad that a few short months later...the fight couldve turned out differently.

Horrifying thing is that upper moon 3 was not fighting with his full power otherwise the time he activated his technique not only Rengoku but people there would have died but he was moved by Rengoku's potential that he tried to recruit him ,if you see the conversation between the fight you can see he was trying so hard to convince Rengoku at last he pierced his stomach and thought at death door he may be convince to be demon but our GOAT hashira make a surprise attack and seeing sun rise akaza run away . Still Rengoku hold him enough until sun rise otherwise after Rengoku, other 200 people there would have died aswell
It's truly terrifying to think about how powerful Upper Moon 3 could have been if he had fought at full strength from the beginning. Rengoku's incredible strength and determination were the only things that saved the lives of everyone at the scene. It's a testament to his skill and bravery that he was able to hold off such a formidable opponent for as long as he did. And the fact that he was willing to sacrifice himself to protect others just goes to show what a true hero he was. His actions ultimately saved countless lives and his sacrifice will not be forgotten. Rengoku truly was a shining example of everything a Hashira should be.

And it’s symbolisms in the manga is top notch. It’s also one of the top animes that expresses amazing emotional moments with incredible fight scenes. The uppermoons are some of the best villains in new gen anime (muzan is like the worst character writing wise though) so yeah I think it’s peak but you are free to your opinion. I just think Demon Slayer has just gotten so overhated recently.

I bet you guys didn't expect the fourth most powerful demon in history to just show up out of knowhere after they just finished defeating the last of the lower moons. Rengoku made a brave and daring last stand to protect the younger slayers but the truth is that a Hashira alone just isn't enough to defeat an upper rank demon most of the time. The Hashira tend to always travel alone and in my opinion that's how so many have fallen too upper ranks before. As it stands there is maybe only one or two certain Hashira in this day and age that could have come out of that fight alive. And even that is uncertain because of how Akaza's fighting style really works.
It was cowardly from their perspective though you can’t deny it at least in their point of view. He came to here to kill everyone but could only kill Rengoku and almost got himself killed due to his recklessness. So running away is cowardly in their eyes.

Yes, he could heal but remember that Akaza didn't have a sword (just hands) and he obivouly wasn't really giving his full power because he was having fun fighting. If Akaza didn't play around then he would have killed Rengoku, and the trio way before the sun came up. I get it though... we all love Rengoku. Rengoku made a brave and daring last stand to protect the younger slayers but the truth is that a Hashira alone just isn't enough to defeat an upper rank demon most of the time. The Hashira tend to always travel alone and in my opinion that's how so many have fallen too upper ranks before. As it stands there is maybe only one or two certain Hashira in this day and age that could have come out of that fight alive. And even that is uncertain because of how Akaza's fighting style really works.

It was cowardly from their perspective though you can’t deny it at least in their point of view. He came to here to kill everyone but could only kill Rengoku and almost got himself killed due to his recklessness. So running away is cowardly in their eyes.

If Akaza fights seriously then there would be even more casualties. There’s only one dude among Hashiras who can be challenge to Akaza. 35: 02 what was that though ? He cheated ? Akaza literally made Rengoku a fan favorite character. If he wanted he could have humiliated him but he chose not to do it. Because then the audience wouldn’t be interested in this show. Rengoku’s death was actually a turning point in the show.

The upper rank cheated? Lol... I get it, the frustrations had us in disbelief. However, Akaza (upper 3) is just much more powerful than rengoku. Yes, he could heal but remember that Akaza didn't have a sword (just hands) and he obivouly wasn't really giving his full power because he was having fun fighting. If Akaza didn't play around then he would have killed Rengoku, and the trio way before the sun came up.
I get it though... we all love Rengoku. But we can't ignore the power of the upper ranks... especially if they're serious about the fight. There's a reason the upper ranks have remained unchanged for over a century.

I can argue that Akaza was serious especially at the end of the fight but you know whatever you believe.

Its not like Akaza was malicious in killing Rengoku. He genuinely panicked when he impaled him at first. Because he wanted to recruit him. I 100% understand the emotions tho, don't get me wrong :)

Alright, demons regenerate, well so do demon slayers sort of, through their techniques they are much stronger than regular humans.
