Nice reaction I have seen this so many times and still hits each times. 3 one takes, dread to think what people thinking of a guy in hospital gown shouting with a guitar in the middle of the night
Nah, this one hit _really_ close to our BananaManaRenegadeFana..if I may, I humbly suggest "Power"... just two best mates, a car, and a sunny afternoon..and you'll learn from where Ren gets _his_ personal strength and inspiration. 😊 oh, btw.. you did get the twist at the end, didn't ya? Violet's twins? The were named Jenny...and Screech. Hell of a story, inspired by a news article Ren came across..born into a cycle of abuse, Jenny and Screech met their demise much like their mother, Violet..only this time it was her very own twin brother, Screech, that sealed his sister Jenny's fate.

Retired clinical psychologist here. Saw so many of these stories during 25 yrs of practice. This song is a treatise on trans-generational trauma. And it brings me to the stories of so many people I had as patients. I know this song almost by memory now, yet I still can't help crying when watching (or listening to) it. This young man knows his [__]. AND he's an accomplished storyteller. Thank you for your reaction, for sharing your story and your feelings. See you next time.
My family did the same to me and I was a kid too. 8 years old. I told my mom what my aunts husband tried to do. She’s a 5’ tall boss of a lady and was having none of it, and called the police. My own grandfather (aunts dad, my father’s side) was a retired police chief in our small 4,000 person town, and told her if she pressed charges it would be the last thing she’d do. She did it and said fuck you. The family turned against US and took up for him and he wasn’t even blood, even after my mother put up with the beatings from my dad while he stuck around. I knew then I didn’t have family on that side. Then came over 20 years of opiates and homelessness. But my mother never turned her back on me completely. We have the best relationship we’ve ever had now that I’ve been clean for several years. I thank god for her everyday, and pray for the people that have to go through that and have no one.
I'm 4' 9" Only recently, an American friend of mine told me, I am legally a midget in the USA... Didn't believe her so googled the shit out of it, low n behold, she was correct, and even better, here in England too! That was a "Learn summit new everyday" moment! Lets ignore that it took me 40 years to learn it! 😶🌫️ (My dad is 6' 7" . My uncles and most male family members on my paternal side are all over 6' 1") So I definitely 💯 got the short straw (fully intended pun 🙃)
I'm a tall midget, at 6'1" Little women rock! Partly because their heads rest on my chest. Partly because I don't like hair in my face. Mainly, because they have sass, and take no shit.
Such bravery as you show us when you tell your story in front of millions of anonymous trolls, stalkers and just curious people wanting your "juiciest" parts delivered on a golden plate, such bravery should in all honesty make God thank YOU! 🖤 Every time survivers tell their stories - break the silence - they breathe life into a human who's been diminished by the person/s taking their soul away by doing things "I'm sure their mother knew...". A good thing to remember is that a soul always can find its way back to its home. All it needs is getting reminded on how to find it's host. Just by doing what we're doing right now: step out from the shadows, sharing experiences, learning to trust and, at least in my case, stepping out of your comfort zone and stop treating HIS and THEIR secret as if it's mine when it's anything but. Come to think of it, it actually has very little to do with me. Nothing to be precise. I was 10 the first time. It's HIS dumbfuckery to feel shame about, not mine. I'm innocent. I know that with every fiber in my being this very second. If you ask me in a couple of hours, my feelings might have crawled back into the 30 years of PTSD-deep abyss where I feel the safest. Hopefully I'll find my way back up here again. Thank you all from the bottom of my pitch black heart and soul 🖤 And the reaction? Beautiful, as always. Much love From STHLM, Sweden (where we use the metric system, and women are generally quite tall, so yeah... I'm 176 cm, ha! 😸)
Renigade here. but from your last ren reaction, im a new subscriber to 7 deadly bananas. im going through some periodical alcoholism if you can even call it that. to see people who were once at a low point strive to find reason makes me happy. i have my ups and i have my downs, but i will never give up.
I have watched all of Rens songs, 100s of times, yet watching people react makes me feel like i am watching it all over again. Just to see your expression, hear your perception of the song, watch the smile on your face, and feel the passion that you show throughout is catching, and allows me to see it with fresh eyes. I L💜ve your take on it, and can feel the emotions from your own personal experience and can relate to it. I can guarantee that every RENegade on here has had a similar experience, if not to this, but to one of Rens other songs. Ren is on a different frequency and because of that he takes you there. Transference, Introspection, soul searching and healing is a big part of this journey. So is love, empathy, passion, hope and community. You are not alone in this, we are all on this journey together. Thank you for sharing and for such a touching reaction ❤ you totally rock and I have ao much appreciation for how open you are. It isnt easy, especially for men. The fact you are doing that will help someone else to be more open. You are a star just for that alone 🌟💜
Wow. I have to admit, when I watched your reaction to 'Hi Ren', I thought you kept your vulnerable side to yourself. But now, my heart feels like it's shattering into a million pieces. You must have felt so alone. Damn, you handled this like a boss, and here I am, watching in admiration. Thank you.
Ren is a master of imagist songwriting. I can watch him perform this and still imagine the story he's telling. As a DV survivor, I felt like he used his art to make pieces of my story visible. Like he wouldn't let anyone look away. So validating
Such a valid point. The language around DV is so trivialising. "Knocked her about." "Slapped her around." It all sounds less serious than, "Beat her hard enough to break bones." "Used to punch and kick until she lost consciousness." Ren puts it out, as it is. No frilly wrapping. And tells the audience to deal with the reality.
I have followed Ren since he was around 20 yrs old. This trilogy cam out separately over about 16 months. Jenny's tale came from a newspaper article he had read. He added the other 2 as he was able to. All were done on about 50 pounds expense. Violets bed was a child's bed that is why it was so small.
It's a challenging song. I'm a middle age woman, and I suffered SA as a child and again as a teenager, both times from two different trusted family friends. This trilogy is mindblowing. Ren is astonishing. There's so many layers to this, so many nuances. I've gained a much better understanding of all the things I missed when listening by following the chats and threads on both RUclips and Discord. I wish I could produce a tiny fraction of the things Ren does.
Ren has many videos that will make you cry, some will make you laugh but they all feel honest. He doesn't look away from the dark parts of life he tries to shine light on them so other people can find a way through the dark too. He did a video when he hit 1 Mill subscribers that is really empowering and I think it encompasses why we love Ren. He isn't always easy listening but if you need something to express your mood, he'll have something. Next? Many below suggest Back On 74 which is a newer video but there's also What You Want ... both are old school vibes with the Ren factor tossed in and will leave you feeling good.
Yes, there is even more to that series than some realize. Money Game Part 3 is his most ambitious production yet, most of every other video was done guerilla style (begging forgiveness rather than ask permission, using found locations - 'Hi Ren' he only managed 4 takes before the landlord kicked them out) They actually had a budget and arranged a venue for it, you can find many 'making of' videos for Money Game Part 3. This video was only released after an elaborate online collaborative puzzle solving game which you can still check out. Each video had a solution that when solved opened a new video with a new puzzle until you got to the 'Prize,' the penultimate video of 'Eden' then Money Game Part 3 dropped. Those game videos were sort of Easter Eggs of their own, one was 'what did Stevie do after attacking Violet?' So if you really want to cover it, watch Money Game Part 1, Money Game Part 2 (Official Lyric Video), then you should check out the Money Game ARG, dropping you into the video Eden, then Money Game Part 3. Each Tale begins with an overture that sets the tone for what is to come. Screech’s tale came about a year after Jenny’s and Violet’s about two years after that. Ren uses everything- from the literary tools of metaphor, simile, alliteration etc to the settings he chooses to the tone and cadence of his voice -which changes depending on whether he is the character he’s portraying or the narrator . I’d love to see you react to Ren when he was a part of The Big Push.
I'm 51, I've listened to this 100s of times. It has helped me work through things that I've thought I had buried, but obviously not. So much if it, I keep thinking, how does he know, the details. Like abusers blaming you for their actions, about behaviors that helped you survive as a child that you repeat when your older. Just..... All of it. Referring to the act of the abuse as "the devil comes to dance". The bigger picture of generational trauma that doesn't go away unless it's dealt with. It's amazing and so worthy of attention from everyone
Laying one street apart… they were so close to each other their whole lives and didnt know they had each other for support as twins brother/sister should.
Outstanding example of a pure and authentic reaction to this trilogy. I absolutely agree with every single thing you expressed, along with feeling immense gratitude that you opened up to us and shared some of your own story and the things you have faced. I am honored to have found your channel, and I can't wait for the next premiere, I will be there as long as I am free to be. I know I said this in chat, but I highly suggest checking out Su*cide and Sick Boi next. As others suggested too, if you want to hear more of Ren's singing voice, Chalk Outlines is beautiful. The Money Game trilogy is also a banger. And then with Animal Flow, make sure you watch Murderer first, because the stories are connected to some degree. Another thing I love about Ren is that he called out the fact that he had to censor the title of his song Su*cide so that he could upload it to RUclips/other platforms, yet he didn't have to censor "Murderer" which in itself shows the stigmatization and discrimination towards "unaliving" versus violence against others.
What an absolutely gut-wrenching amd powerful reaction. Just started following you last week. I also don't really know what to say, except thank you, and from a random stranger in Cincinnati, you're absolutely loved man. Kudos and keep being strong ❤
Ren chooses some topics that are dark & sinister in this F up world. Yet, he paints a beautiful picture in our minds, he brings the characters to life. In a way, it’s healing. Ren has been to those dark places & today he shares his life with us. Another powerful reaction. Arizona Renegade.
If you're interested, Ren is releasing a new tune on Thursday, March 28, @ 2pm EST. It's to be an instrumental dedicated to one of his childhood friends who passed at a young age.
@@7DeadlyBananas it's quite the thing! There is a whole side story Ren promoted on Instagram that Screech stole his phone and highkjacked his account to post nefarious deeds. He almost lost his account over it.
Nicely done Danny. One of my favorite things about this song is that you get so enthralled to each individual story that by the time he drops the bomb in violet you almost forget about Jenny and screech
To me the greatest aspect of his multi-faceted voice and storytelling delivery is its intimacy. He’s there singing and he’s telling this story to you and you only. That’s how he makes you feel. There’s a level that he reaches in this that supersedes thousands of popular singers with amazing voices. Few musicians/singers are true bards these days. Ren is that and more. When you add to that his ability to use melody, meter, and key choices that further punctuate the lines he’s delivering it raises him up to an even higher level.
From another greatful recovering addict and alcoholic, I am glad you are becoming a RENegade. I use Ren videos in teaching my daughters, especially my teenager who struggles with depression. If you haven't already watched Chalk Outlines by Ren and Chinchilla you need to. Also For Joe, but I will warn you that that one is a tearjerker.
The Tales are based upon a police blotter article in a paper Ren read, it was the story of a young prostitute killed by another youth during a mugging, then a responding officer killing the youth. In the article the commanding officer was quoted saying 'they were so young, it's such a shame.' 'It's such a shame' is a phrase Ren uses throughout The Tales. Some seem to miss that Violet's father 'tuck her tight, but never left the room. I'll spare you with the things he did, I'm sure her mother knew.' 'moved out at 16, a semi-detached council flat provided by a welfare scheme...' The only girl who would get a flat like that would be pregnant... she was likely pregnant by her father. Multigenerational trauma and abuse. Stevie calls her a 'little liar' and a 'fucking slut,' this could be because he figured out that she was pregnant before they got together. Levels. These videos were actually made a year apart. Originally it was just the two videos, but the third part was created to bring them back together as a way to understand the origins of the characters, the generational abuse, neglect, and trauma they led to their lives, a repeat of their parents, and the resulting continuing tragedy. Some people see 'The Tales' and think they are recent, or the 3 parts of 'Money Game' and not that they go back 3 or 4 years, and that his back catalog is so big. Ren is obsessive and rehearses endlessly and in filming with his cinematographer Samuel Perry-Falvey does take after take, for 'Money Game Part 1' there were issues so they went all night with about 180 takes, for 'The Tales' they were done about 50 times, for Violet's tale there were 54 takes as something wouldn't go just right in the long live one take shot. They had one with rain showers at a very special moment but in review it wasn't as good, but in the version used the plane flying over stirring up the seagulls right when 'Stevie' pauses to see what he did to Violet seems to be a propitiously timed moment as well. This is Ren very much in 'Bardcore,' he spent much of his youth going with his parents to renaissance festivals and likely seeing the British pantomime plays, so this kind of performance was well ingrained for him.
Heartfelt reaction. Ren makes us feel things (and some of us relive things) with such detail. He's an absolute master at what he does. He has lots of feel good songs too that are just creative and fun but not so heavy if you need a break from those. Genesis, Power, and Back on 74/Message in a Bottle are the first ones that come to mind though he has more. He really doesn't shy away from the hard topics and puts it all out there. He probably wouldn't be allowed to if he had a label. His creative genius just freely flows and he makes magic every time.
Give Ben's What You Want a listen for something a bit more upbeat and positive feeling! He tells stories and conveys emotion like a master, however, his ability to fire fun into a tune and bring back the 90s is great too! A totally different feel!
Violet's Tale literally gave me a panic attack. I had to stop, in the middle of the beating, to calm down and catch my breath, before I could continue.
Not sure if it is just a British expression but it goes " Jack of all Trades and Master of None " however Ren is " Jack of all Trades and Master of ALL " which he clearly demonstrates over the 200 plus videos available ( inc The Big Push " Great reaction to this tough one!
I am so very sorry for what you went through and extremely sorry for the unfair, hurtful way you were then treated by people who should have loved and comforted and supported you ! ❤ big warm comforting hug from me to you ! 😢
Really enjoying your Ren reactions! 😊 Another great one to lighten the mood is Shot the Sherrif/Road to Zion. A street performance with his old band The Big Push. (Has to be the one where Ren is wearing orange suspenders 😁) A great pick me up/wake up song!! 😊
There's so much humanity in Ren's storytelling.. even when its horrible. He's a master at social commentary through song--he manages to withhold judgement and show unvarnished truth, no matter how tragic the topic
Imagine hearing that outside your window at night not knowing it was a video being made 😅 i do gotta give it to the cameraman too, the camera movements and reactions really add so much. Especially the way it fell.
This live one shot style is called Bardcore by fans. The story telling travelling minstrel type character. If you want to see something similar Money Game 1,2&3 will blow your mind. You’ve definitely earned a happy track though. When you’re ready, Chalk Outlines is awesome with Ren and Chinchilla. ❤
He does a live version which is done with a 360 cam so you can move it around. Pretty cool. He asks if people know the lyrics and they all did. He asked them not to sing except for Screech's lines. He wanted them to do that- scream like Screech to let any difficulties currently or in the past to get out and in to the ether. Let it out.
There is another version out there where the crowd is walking along a certain pathway to get to the open air venue. They come across a police 'do not cross' line with a surprise in the alley. It was all part of the experience! That one is great too.
I’m excited I said you would be doing Ren again soon and I said this should be one of the two that you would be doing I’m feeling very psychic. Can’t wait to watch this reaction.
So sad to hear what you have been going through but also very glad that you fought through it and sitting here again doing a great reaction 🙏 Plastic throwers unite 🤘
Welcome to Ren. It's a roller coaster. Worth it. If you find your way to Maryland, You've got someone to play a round of disc golf with. Can't help seeing the bag in the background.
@@7DeadlyBananas I discovered Ren a year ago. Not going to recommend a next, there are several. He speaks to the heart, regardless of your musical preference. I have my favorites, but those are the ones that speak to me. You've gotta find those of his that hit you. Definitely worth the listen though. After a year I'm still finding stuff from years ago he did that speaks to me. Let Ren give you what means something to you. But the disc golf thing holds.
Thank you for sharing this reaction with us, I really appreciate your willingness to be vulnerable with us and tell some of your story. Part of Ren's stated purpose is to encourage communication and connection, which he's good at! This is a masterpiece, for sure.
Thank you for your reaction to this I love how you appreciate what he's doing. You picked up the vibe right, welcome to Bardcore. Can't wait for you to see Money Game parts 1, 2 and 3. For wider vocals you and Audrey should check out How to be Me (duet with Chinchilla) and For Joe which are both relating to his friend who ended his own life. Also for a completely different vocal vibe check out his busking video's, Earned it/Man's world (with Sam Tomkinson) and I Shot the Sheriff/Lion Zion (with The Big Push - band). Both Sam and Chinchilla are incredible and blowing up as well. That all of these people crossed paths has to be fate.
I have just heard about Ren from his musical only performance in the mountains in memoriam of his friend who passed away in 2011. It was incredibly beautiful and he didn’t even need any words to tell the tale. Now I’ve watched “Hi Ren” and it’s a brilliant song but feels like a brick to the heart. Then I see this and it’s a brick to the head and heart. I had no idea that Violet would be the mother of Jenny and Screech. Just incredible. Ren doing the 4 gunshots and the camera person were so masterfully executed. I’m definitely intrigued by more of his work now. I’m sorry that this touched you so deeply. Hopefully it’s more of a healing experience than a painful reminder. Maybe both. Keep being yourself and going through it, not around it. Congratulations on staying sober for so long in this crazy messed up world. I can only hope that we will regain some semblance of normalcy again soon. Thank you for this reaction and your vulnerability. 🥰
I like to think that the short sequence of pretty or bright music before he gets into the 'tune' of the story proper is like the person hes about to tell you about. Like, this is the person they could have been if Life hadn't hit them but (tune change) buckle up, cuz this is what we've got
Tale of Jenny. "Woah, this is not where I expected this to go." Yeah, you don't even know. Buckle up. It's going to be a ride. Watching reactors to this is fun.
Ren's skills were honed by love and experience of busking on Brighton's streets. There are films like 'I shot The Sheriff' (The Big Push) which show how his skills were used in the live situation and lead to his love for one-shot videos, with ambient noise and errors left uncorrected.
For a break from some of the heavy ,emotional songs try want you want ,losing it , down on the beat or any of his stuff from his band the big push . It will show a completely different side and lighten the feel between some of the other songs
Ren is brilliant. The money game trilogy is also a work of art. He does a a few songs with chinchilla who is another insanely talented singer. Try Doing chalk outlines the live version and how to be me live also. So many great songs he has
I know there's a million suggestions which is overwhelming. If you want to hear some of his vocal range I would go to his recent tracks. 2 of his last 4 drops will give you a glimpse into that. Back on 74 /Message in a Bottle Retake & Fred Again Mashup. Both totally different, both live performances and both stunning. (both Ren's composition with lyrics by original artists except for his own in the middle section of Back to 74 one.
Jeez dude, huge revelation at the start of Violet’s tale. Respect for what you must have gone through to get here. Top class analysis of this mini musical - more to go. 👍
Thank you for sharing so much of your own empathy with us. Ren is such a master at bringing stories to life. It's so vivid, and I couldn't agree more that it feels like Broadway. (Money Game parts 1&3 are similarly theatrical. pt2 is a lyric video.)
I appreciate you telling some of your story about your childhood, too. My brother did something similar to my niece- and she spoke up about it. I could not believe that most of my family ended up "shunning" her almost and we devastated that my brother ended up in jail. My family was always weird about keeping the creeps around at reunions and such (I slowly learned about all of this over the years) and tend to make the victims like they ruined everything by even speaking out
You mentioned that a lot of Ren's stories hit home for you. One of the reasons that I have come to love Ren so very much is because I have lived some of the songs that he's created. Violet's Tale could have been my story if I hadn't said something at just the right time. In 2005, I was in a toxic marriage that I had convinced myself for the previous 7 years that I wouldn't get out of alive. After an attack that ended with me being removed from our house on a stretcher being pushed by a woman that spoke to my soul. She told me to say something so I could get help. She said that I can't remain attached to my husband by invisible chains that have isolated me from escape. She said that I needed to remove my wedding band and never look back. I was crying and saying that I can't leave. He has a lock on my soul. I have to die to be free. As she sat next to me in the ambulance, this angel on earth told me, the baby inside your belly has taken the key away from your husband. She needs you to say something because she chose you to save you. So in February 2005, I escaped from my ex husband when I was 5 months pregnant with my now 18 year old daughter. At the time that I left, I had chosen the name Violet for her, but I ended up changing my mind on her name. I ended up naming her Willow Jolie because she was the roots that I needed to create a new life. A life that was no longer dark and toxic. She was my beautiful shelter that gave me the courage to leave the death sentence that I did not deserve. Life hasn't been easy, but freedom has been beautiful and something to cherish.
The comment you made about what happened to you as a child, and a separation, the ostracizing between your family and you, was luckily, something I never had the experience. While what happened to me was traumatizing “in the moment” I have a family fully supporting of me and the testimony I gave to put him behind bars, I have never once actually considered what that would feel like having somebody related to you; and I just want to thank you for giving me that different perspective of what it’s like for that to happen within a family setting, as opposed to the stranger that did that to me. I’ve gone more than 20 years, barely thinking about that occurrence, but your comment gave me an entirely new perspective on everything they went down when I was a child
Hey man, I’m proud of you. Being sober, having dealt with whatever you had to deal with, being the beautiful human you turned out to be and your composure while watching Ren’s craft - that can surely make anyone relive very unpleasant (is an euphemism) memories. I don’t know you personally but if I ever had to describe empathy, I would be confident saying it feels like this. I just wanted to leave a message and say to you, and anyone dealing with it, I’m so glad you’re in this world with us.
Ren brings us right into the frame to 'stand witness'. He's not 'just' a mega-talented genre skipping and dipping creative artist and master-class story-teller. He's also a powerful social commentator. He was disgusted at how quickly the deaths of a young prosititute and street gang member disappeared from the 24/7 news cycle. How people murmer meaningless platitudes like, "Oh what a shame..." and look away - click away to the next thing. He say's "No! STOP! Look Here!" These lives - and deaths - matter. We KNOW how and why innocents like Jenny, Violet and yes; poor 14 y/o Screech too, get onto pathways that lead them to becoming victims and/or perpetrators. SO - Why aren't we doing more to stop these tragedies!? And, yes, being a Survivor, doesn't mean you have all your stuff sorted. Psychological scars are no different to physical ones. They are lifelong. It's how someone carries them that matters. Identifying when something needs more work, more help, and the right kind of help, to do more healing, when necessary. Not allowing scars to be dis-abling, to get in the way of a happy healthy life, forming happy healthy relationships. It takes work, and sometimes when you think; "Sh-t! I've done this work! Why is it coming back again?! Sometimes it means there's still a bit of healing to be done. Sometimes it just means it's a scar and it got bumped...
Love your reaction!!!❤ I find it hard to watch still and I’ve known of Ren for 2 years! When The tale at the end reveals that they were siblings without even know really shocked me and it really scrambled my brain 😂
I’m new to your channel. It’s been amazing watching you react to Ren so far. I’ve also been sober for about 20 years. I’m very sorry to hear a little about your past, and I’m incredibly happy you made it through it. Not everyone does. Keep on fighting the good fight.
Wow you said what I have always grieved. The thing. It happened. But the ripples and bad choices and the self hatred leave a trail of sorrow that is so hard to rebuild from. Good for you. You are standing with your intelligence and compassion.
I know someone said it already, but it was NOT your fault. I'm loving these videos. I definitely will watch more and more. I'm on a binge of Ren reactions. But, I love your personality and resonate so much with how you talk about and perceive things and your past experiences. Thank you for the video!! Stay strong. You're awesome ❤️❤️
I'm so sorry that happened to you. Thanks for sharing. I hope the music helps break the silence and people can feel less alone because of it. I sometimes wonder whether this performance should have a content warning, it's so visceral.
Abuse often happens within the family circle. I hope you've overcome your experiences, don't let it define you, im sure you haven't. On a lighter note, Ren is fucking awesome! Much love from England.
Thank you for having the courage to open up about your experiences. Im so sorry to hear you went through that. This song is a true piece of art. Brutal yet brilliant. Im hooked for sure
Excellent reaction! My reaction was very similar, having come from a Screech-like family background of physical and emotional abuse, alcoholism, drug abuse, mental illness, etc. A few months ago I read an article about the minstrels and bards of medieval Europe. I was surprised to learn that often the "nobility" frowned upon them as malcontents and rabble rousers, because--like Ren--they tended to be truth-tellers who could get crowds worked up to the point of violence, riots, rebellion. It got so bad at times that I'm surprised they were allowed to roam from town to town at all. I don't doubt that Ren was one of those truth-tellers in an earlier incarnation. If he ever starts touring, I hope he does it the old way, via horse and wagon. (With a Marshall amp tucked in among the bales of hay...) 🙂
It’s crazy how so many don’t realize that just cause you forgive it doesn’t mean you’ll ever forget. I can’t tell you how many clients I see that struggle internally with why they can’t be ok around that person when they forgave them…. And it’s sad how people think that when you say I forgive you means everything is supposed go back like it never happened to the point my clients feel like there’s something wrong with themselves… let me just say forgiving is something you do for yourself in the healing process it’s not done for the abuser and no you’ll never forget it but with the right help you learn to take the power back because you’ll go from trying to understand why and needing them to tell you why to being able to answer it yourself and that’s the moment everything changes (I’m a hypnotherapist and guiding people through that process is everything)
Love & respect to you for sharing such trauma & deep hurt & hats off & kudos to you for surviving, fighting through & becoming the beautiful human you are. Relatable haunting memories from this one for me too. It’s cliche but true, what doesn’t kill you does indeed make you stronger ❤ Absolutely brilliant reaction to this masterpiece & the Master 🙏😊🥰

After two heavy songs, you need to lighten things up with something positive and uplifting. Check out Humble feat. Eden Nash.
You've earned a happy Ren song next. I suggest his recent release "Back on 74/Message in a Bottle retake".
Agree! back on 74/message in a bottle is so gorgeous and upbeat
My thoughts exactly.
Nah, this one hit _really_ close to our BananaManaRenegadeFana..if I may, I humbly suggest "Power"... just two best mates, a car, and a sunny afternoon..and you'll learn from where Ren gets _his_ personal strength and inspiration. 😊
oh, btw.. you did get the twist at the end, didn't ya? Violet's twins?
The were named Jenny...and Screech.
Hell of a story, inspired by a news article Ren came across..born into a cycle of abuse, Jenny and Screech met their demise much like their mother, Violet..only this time it was her very own twin brother, Screech, that sealed his sister Jenny's fate.
I recommend Power, or Humble for something very positive.
I would go with Uninvited ❤😂
Please dont forget how good the camera man is. Sam is so so good. I feel he personally jas helped make ren what he is today
Definitely - big shout out to Sam Perry Falvey
@@SilkytoasterSo Ren's Sam isn't Sam Tompkins? I love their song Blind Eyed but I didn't know there were two different Sams
@letsart6434 Sam Tompkins is a singer that he has collaborated with, camera man Sam is his very long term friend that is his camera man and helps him with Video ideas and direction etc
Big up Samuel Perry-Falvey ❤
if you look up Empathy in a dictionary you get Ren's picture. They all hit home. Every time.
My mom was 5’2” 😂 until she shrank 😬 😂
I'm 4' 9"
Only recently, an American friend of mine told me, I am legally a midget in the USA...
Didn't believe her so googled the shit out of it, low n behold, she was correct, and even better, here in England too!
That was a "Learn summit new everyday" moment!
Lets ignore that it took me 40 years to learn it! 😶🌫️
(My dad is 6' 7" . My uncles and most male family members on my paternal side are all over 6' 1")
So I definitely 💯 got the short straw (fully intended pun 🙃)

Partly because their heads rest on my chest. Partly because I don't like hair in my face. Mainly, because they have sass, and take no shit.
Such bravery as you show us when you tell your story in front of millions of anonymous trolls, stalkers and just curious people wanting your "juiciest" parts delivered on a golden plate, such bravery should in all honesty make God thank YOU! 🖤
Every time survivers tell their stories - break the silence - they breathe life into a human who's been diminished by the person/s taking their soul away by doing things "I'm sure their mother knew...".
Thank you all from the bottom of my pitch black heart and soul 🖤
And the reaction? Beautiful, as always.
Much love

Renigade here. but from your last ren reaction, im a new subscriber to 7 deadly bananas. im going through some periodical alcoholism if you can even call it that. to see people who were once at a low point strive to find reason makes me happy. i have my ups and i have my downs, but i will never give up.
You and Audrey should react together to "Chalk Outlines" by Ren & Chinchilla
The live version they do in the hallway is hauntingly beautiful.
Yeah good for your situation
YES!!
"Knocked her about."
"Slapped her around."
It all sounds less serious than, "Beat her hard enough to break bones."
"Used to punch and kick until she lost consciousness."
Ren puts it out, as it is. No frilly wrapping. And tells the audience to deal with the reality.
Ren is pure Genius....thanks great reaction👍.
Money Game 1, 2 and 3 are also amazing! There is a behind the scenes from Money Game 3, also interesting!
Those game videos were sort of Easter Eggs of their own, one was 'what did Stevie do after attacking Violet?'
So if you really want to cover it, watch Money Game Part 1, Money Game Part 2 (Official Lyric Video), then you should check out the Money Game ARG, dropping you into the video Eden, then Money Game Part 3.

Ren got the idea for Jenny tale from a news paper he read about a 14 year old boy that kill a young streetwalker with a knife
What an absolutely gut-wrenching amd powerful reaction. Just started following you last week. I also don't really know what to say, except thank you, and from a random stranger in Cincinnati, you're absolutely loved man. Kudos and keep being strong ❤
Couldn’t agree more ❤
Ren chooses some topics that are dark & sinister in this F up world. Yet, he paints a beautiful picture in our minds, he brings the characters to life. In a way, it’s healing. Ren has been to those dark places & today he shares his life with us. Another powerful reaction. Arizona Renegade.
It was NOT your fault.
If you're interested, Ren is releasing a new tune on Thursday, March 28, @ 2pm EST. It's to be an instrumental dedicated to one of his childhood friends who passed at a young age.
I saw that! After I did this video I joined his patreon and YT. Looking forward to it 🙌
@@7DeadlyBananas right on! Guess you're a fan, huh?
@@7DeadlyBananasI'm on his Patreon as well! Good job! See you there!❤
Hooked me as a fan right after watching this 🙌
@@7DeadlyBananas it's quite the thing! There is a whole side story Ren promoted on Instagram that Screech stole his phone and highkjacked his account to post nefarious deeds. He almost lost his account over it.
in Screech tale when he make phone call she busy because she with Patrick that why he never answer the door
Chalk outlines is a must
Nicely done Danny.
"The silence lasted decades." Oh sweet Jesus, that hit harder than the trilogy. Thank you for that.
If you want to hear his singing voice: Chalk Outlines (live) or his I Shot the Sheriff cover/medley with his band The Big Push.
Great reaction, hard to watch even now, about my 200th watch, thank you and many blessings Sir 🙏🦉❤️🐊👍
I just found Ren 2 weeks ago and yah….
This trilogy destroyed me.
He’s an amazing musical artist!
I'll spare you with the things he did, I'm sure her mother knew.'
'moved out at 16, a semi-detached council flat provided by a welfare scheme...'
The only girl who would get a flat like that would be pregnant... she was likely pregnant by her father.
I have dealt with those consequences for 35 years until I broke and had to rebuild myself.
I watched your Hi Ren reaction yesterday and now this... and it's enough for me to subscribe
I finished your Hi Ren with only 5 mins till this release. Glad I found you and get to see your response!!!
Man... that is how we all felt. Thank you. Subbed
Please do more Ren by all means.
Thank you for being real. Ren helps. You help. We all help in our own way.
To finish the story the 14 year old got sent to prison and that’s what blew his mind
Really enjoying your Ren reactions! 😊 Another great one to lighten the mood is Shot the Sherrif/Road to Zion. A street performance with his old band The Big Push. (Has to be the one where Ren is wearing orange suspenders 😁)
A great pick me up/wake up song!! 😊
There's so much humanity in Ren's storytelling.. even when its horrible. He's a master at social commentary through song--he manages to withhold judgement and show unvarnished truth, no matter how tragic the topic
The term your brain is looking for is Bardcore. That’s Ren. ❤
Ren speaks to the human in all of us, in every variant of pain.
@@Dstinii Yep. Think that's the same night. That one is extended.
Wow. It sounds so corny but this guy "is not (just) entertainment, it's real life" and he's doing an absolute ton of good for people imo.
Worth it.

Several folks have made mention 😂 glad it’s getting noticed
@@7DeadlyBananas I discovered Ren a year ago. Not going to recommend a next, there are several. He speaks to the heart, regardless of your musical preference. I have my favorites, but those are the ones that speak to me. You've gotta find those of his that hit you. Definitely worth the listen though. After a year I'm still finding stuff from years ago he did that speaks to me. Let Ren give you what means something to you. But the disc golf thing holds.
Maryland here as well! 👋
Thank you for sharing this reaction with us, I really appreciate your willingness to be vulnerable with us and tell some of your story. Part of Ren's stated purpose is to encourage communication and connection, which he's good at! This is a masterpiece, for sure.
This is the song that I first found from REN and let me just tell you... WOW! can't wait for your reaction!! :)
He’s genius.
I sing all three along with him.
He is unique.
Loved your Hi Ren reaction. Loved this one too. His video, POWER has a great message about self-reliance and perseverance.
It’s always fun to see people’s reactions to all of REN’s details. It never gets old ❤
Tale of Jenny. "Woah, this is not where I expected this to go."
Yeah, you don't even know.
Love great reactions to Ren. Unbelievable artist.
A masterpiece unparalleled in so many ways.
So many great songs he has
I love that you are reacting to ren! he is so good! you need to watch money game and sick boy plss
As a discgolf enthusiast myself, I really appreciate the Grip bag on the background 😀. Nice reaction!
Good on you for making it through. Thanks for a great reaction. Looking forward to more. ❤❤❤
One the best Ren reactions out there. Loved your response to Sam’s camera work in the guitar shooting scene!
So hyped for this!!! So hyped for this whole rabbit whole tbh!! I think you should also react to chalk outlines by Ren and chinchilla!!!!

You've got so much more poetic stuff coming from Ren, whether it's in his tales or his sung songs.
I subscribed! I love when a new person joins the Ren fold. ALL of his work is different. You never know what you will get.
One of the best reactions I've seen. So sorry you endured your trauma too mate.
Thank you for having the courage to open up about your experiences. Im so sorry to hear you went through that. This song is a true piece of art. Brutal yet brilliant. Im hooked for sure
Wow, what an awesome reaction!!! Keep going! We're here for your Ren journey!
This one hits hard. I hate that you had to go through what you did as a child. I hope you have a way to heal now.
Excellent review.
