Right? He was pushing this kid so hard when what he needed to do was find a much taller woman to have a child with. Get some more vertical into that bloodline🤣

He simply wasn’t good enough. He wasn’t the player he was hyped up to be. Papa Newman lied about his own offers back in the day just like he lied about his kids’ offers.

When it comes to basketball, “Height” really doesn’t have that much to do with how you play the game.
Take Tyrone “Muggsy” Bogues for instance. Well, Muggsy Bogues stood 5”3, and he played in the NBA for 14 seasons when the league was extremely physical. And the reason why Muggsy was able to play that long in a physical era against some of the greatest basketball athletes in the world at that time is because he was a TRUE POINT GUARD! Muggsy had speed, quickness, ball handling, court vision, top level conditioning, a great passer, a floor general, leadership skills, a good teammate, high level basketball IQ, was an excellent defensive player, could start the break, finish and knew how to get his teammates involved to make shots… Julian Newman is the complete opposite of that!
Julian’s mindset is on “SCORING” and being a showman more than becoming a true Point-guard, and that’s what holds him back. If he had basic Point-guard fundamentals, and develop his basketball IQ into being a real Point-guard, then we would probably see him playing Pro.
And we can clearly see that Julian‘s father is another big part of the problem.
And yes, maybe the streetball route or The Harlem Globetrotters may be a good option for him.

I agree! I feel there are opportunities for someone who is skilled at dribbling. His height didn't help him but his attitude and lack of defense hurt. But also, there hasn't been a player like muggsy bogues since him and probably never will be again. The league is too big now.

He was never a student of the game. He never grew his skillset. He used flash over substance and had as many moves as Derek Zoolander had looks.

His sister Jaden had a true shot to make the WNBA but she let her lazyness get to her head. I remember watching their show and Julian had to push her to play. She was the best female shooter in her grade at the time in the world and threw all that away for Instagram 🤦‍♂️.

What happened is he became a ball hog. Did you see how good his assists were in Varsity?? He needs to pick that back up ASAP. Either that, or he peaked as a kid. It happens. Peaks and Valleys are all part of life. Accept it, or get better.
