How beautiful. Remembering the horrors of the war. Reminding me of the soldiers that gave their life. Young adults with no future. Dying to give me my future. It is such a great gift they have given me, my friends, their children and grandchildren. They liberated my country. They enabled my father to escape the Dresdenbombing (POW) and return home safely to his love after the war finished. I can not do anything else than being grateful for what they have done. So much suffering.
Yes - I completely agree. So many people suffered so much for our freedom. They must not be forgotten and we must always remember their sacrifice for what they did.
At 1pm on 6th June 2024, pyrotechnics were used on board HMS BELFAST to simulate a gun salute.
This was to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

After 0:25, all the smoke and sound are come from the most front of the cruiser, while suppose there is not turret there, what is that? A simulator?
