Thanks! Sorry I haven't replied sooner, have been very busy. Today was actually the last run. Starting Monday, the chip Mill will be sending the woodchips overseas via Charleston, South Carolina. This is due to the sole customer the chip mill has (Evergreen Packaging in Canton, North Carolina) closing its doors in late may. Starting Monday, the Asheville railroading scene will be very different. We will just have to wait and see what Norfolk Southern decides to do.
@@CarolinaRailVideos Thanks for the reply; I just happened to come across a video from another YT'er yesterday and found out about the paper mill in Canton closing...such a shame. My ex-wife is from there and her parents live up on a hill just a stone's throw from the mill. Hope this isn't the death knell for the Blue Ridge Southern as well...
@@CarolinaRailVideos Good to hear; I just now remembered that they also run from Asheville to Hendersonville. Wonder if the Murphy Line is going to even be profitable since the only other customers besides the paper mill are in Sylva and Waynesville who see traffic twice a month at the most.
Good news: My footage might be coming in a couple of days. Bad news: Didn’t do drone footage. My dad was talking while I was recording audio for my drone footage, so I couldn’t use it. And we ended the chase at the round knob. Wonder why you left round knob and went to high fill? That train was a sweet surprise!
@@CarolinaRailVideos I agree, but I didn’t know that the high fill shot had a little trail to get to, and a good place yo take up the drone. The summer comes, I guess I got to do round knob.
@@2025trainfanmanproductions Today was the last scheduled run of P87 to Bridgewater, due to Evergreen shutting down in May, the chip mill will be sending chips overseas via Charleston, SC. Going into affect Monday 5/1/2023.
love this video ❤️
love this locomotive ❤️❤️
Excellent video...gave you a thumbs up. By any chance do you know when/how often this turn is made?

Update: Blue Ridge Southern is staying. Just without mill traffic

I've never seen an NS woodchip train before.

Ah. We went to High Fill because the shot is better there than round knob.
@@CarolinaRailVideos was it because of the obstruction of trees and power lines? Also, that train at that location was screaming louder than the horn!
@@2025trainfanmanproductions yes, the trees and power lines made the shot look to cluttered
