I was searching RUclips to see what is going on with the war and at some point, I thought to see a 4k video about Yerevan. I absolutely loved it and I wish I could visit this beautiful and peaceful country one day. Let's all wish for the peace and prosperity of all humans!

Rich religious and historical history and a sad recent history. Most gloss over armenia and swap it for it's georgian neighbour on the caucasus, but for me, Armenia is a hidden gem in the world.
@@YALQUZAQ_AZ when the King of Armenia Tigran the Great was holding meetings with the ruler of the Roman Empire, there was NO country called Azerbaijan anywhere in the world! So go look at historical maps there’s Armenia but not Azerbaijan or Turkey! Yerevan is 2,800 years old founded by Armenian/Urarutian King Argishti. Do you even know this? Azerbaijan didn’t exist 2,800 years ago. But Armenia did exist and Yerevan was one of the capital cities of Greater Armenia. It fell under Persian rule alongside Artsakh/Karabagh, Zangezeur, etc. in the 16th century for only 200 years. With Russia’s help it was liberated in 1827. Azerbaijan was founded in 1918 by Russia! Azerbaijan was part of Iran its Iran! So it was Persia NOT Azerbaijan. It only ruled over Yerevan. It doesn’t mean it was Persian or Azerbaijan indigenous lands. You Turkic people originally come from Central Asia. Armenians are the indigenous people of Anatolia/Caucasus. Russia retained Yerevan, Zangezeur, and even Karabagh just like it retained lands for Azerbaijan after separating from Persia/Iran. Azerbaijan was founded in 1918. But you will see Armenia on historical maps. Armenian history is over 4,000 years old. Just because Persia controlled Yerevan, Zangezeur, Karabagh, for 200 years, it doesn’t mean it’s historic Azerbaijan. 😡
@@HopefulInterventions In medieval written sources the name of the city where Azerbaijani Turks had been the only inhabitants since ancient times, is mentioned as Ravan, Iravan or Irivan. At the begining of XIX century after the Russian troops occupation the name of the city was written as Erivan, later on it was called Yerevan for the first time in the history of the twentieth century, after its conversion to the capital of Armenian state. Armenian historians are trying to bind the name of the city (now being called Yerevan) with the name of Erebun Fortress (Irpuni) built during the ruling period of Urartu Argistinin Tsar I (in 782 BC). Erabuni Fortress was buil only for the purpose of military fortifications and city infrastructure was never formed around it. As the Urartunians had nothing to do with the Armenians, an ancient city of Irevan had neither spatial nor historical connection with present Iravan city. There was a significant time distance between the Iravan settlement, which was an ancient dwelling and formed as a city in the Middle Ages and Erabuni fortress revealed during the archaeological excavations in 1950. Only in the second half of XX century the territory of Ganli Tepe (hill) where Erabuni fortress was located, was annexed to the suburban area. According to the found cuneiform and belonging to the Urartunians times it has been found out that the vally of Aghri (the left bank of the river Araz and down stream of the river Arpachay) used to be the country of Aza people untill the area was occupied by the Urartus in the first quater of VIII century BC. Originally the name of the city Irevan and majority of hydronium (river, lake, spring, etc.), oronium (mountain, pass, valley, plain, etc.), oychonium (dwellings, streets, blocks, etc.) around it and being closely tied to Azerbaijani Turks language, once again shows that this area used to be ancient settlements of Azerbaijanis. There is not any sample belonging to the Armenians among the artifacts found during the archeological excavations in the territory of the city Iravan so far. During 1200 years--from the period of the Urartuians collapse till the establishment of the Arabian caliphte - the name of this settlement was not mentioned in any sources. Some Armenian historians acknowledge this fact objectively. The fortress-city located on the trade routes and developed into a city in the Middle Ages where only Azerbaijani Turks used to live, was also one of the rich cultural centres of Azerbaijan. During the ruling times of Chukhur-Saad beylerbeyliyi and Iravan khanate, the city of Irevan rapidly developed

I'm American and I went to Armenia for about a week in June of this year and absolutely fell in love! Yerevan is a WONDERFUL city with so much interesting architecture. What I thought was really cool was that everyone was still walking about (kids and families, etc.) when it was 10pm. Felt very safe the entire time I was there, and the whole city was had a really nice vibe with lots of outdoor restaurants and even water mist (it's extremely HOT but dry there in the summer-- was 100 degrees 5 days in a row!). I got to see both Varni Temple AND Geghard monastery on a really affordable tour-- it was only $15 (USD) for a 5 hour bus tour of both! I also traveled to the city of Gyumri and it was amazing! This was actually a work trip, but felt like a vacation because it was so much fun. Armenian people are also so nice-- I got so many invitations to have tea/coffee and snacks. Decent amount of younger people speak English in the capital city, but primarily the second language is Russian so it helps to know a few words in Russian OR Armenian just in case.

You are mistaken. Stepanakert’s true name is Khankendi. Artsakh’s true name is Karabakh. Karabakh is the legal territory of Azerbaijan. It is under occupation of Armenia, which capital city Yerevan. True name of Yerevan is Iravan, another ancient city of Azerbaijan. Iravan was given to Armenians by Soviets who created Republic of Armenia as well. Please note this.
@@sahibaliyev816 No. While indeed, Nagorno Karabakh is a legal territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan under the occupation of the Republic of Armenia, neither Stepanakert nor Yerevan have ever been azerbaijani cities. Both have been inhabited by Armenian people since ancient times, and despite the favorable vote by the Caucasian Buró of the Soviet Union to merge the Armenian territories, the tense relations between Armenia and Moscow due to anti-soviet protests and other political and geopolitical events provoked that the territory of Nagorno Karabakh (nowadays the independent Republic of Artsakh) was given to the SSR of Azerbaijan by Stalin, same thing for Najichevan, which was an Armenian territory until the 1940s. Iravan and Khankendi are just the demonyms in your language. Armenians are the historical inhabitants of the Armenian Highlands, which spans present eastern Turkey, Armenia, northern Iran and western Azerbaijan, but due to certain events, the territory of Armenia has been cut down severely, specially since the XXth century. Ancient civilizations predate the existence of both republics, and both countries have been under the dominion of other empires throughout the millenia. But unlike ethnic Armenians, who have inhabited those lands since prehistoric times, Azeri people are the descendants of mainly Caucasian Avars, who inhabited ancient Aghbania, and the Oghuz Turks who migrated from present Turkmenistan to settle in the region during the Seljuq Dynasty. Yerevan's founding can be traced back to the VIII century b.C, with the founding of the urartian Fortress of Erebuni, which evolves through the Armenian language until the present day "Yerevan". The founding of Stepanakert/ Khankendi lies in doubt, I'll give you that, but again ethnic Armenians have populated the area since ancient times. So no, they are not Azerbaijani cities. I will abstain myself to make a harsher comment if you would be so kind to put aside any political influence you might have and look at the historical facts from a neutral point of view. Thanks.
@@adrianpenate5302 Karabakh is one of the ancient historical regions of Azerbaijan. The name Karabakh is a combination of the words “gara” (black, big) and “bagh” (garden, land). The word “Karabakh” as a name given by Azerbaijani people to their land first appeared in primary sources of the 7th century. In dealing with the subject of Karabakh, the first question to be answered is: where is this place and which areas of Azerbaijan does it cover? The answer to this question is especially relevant today for any understanding of the “Nagorno-Karabakh problem” created by the Armenian separatists. To answer this question we will refer first to Mirza Jamal Javanshir Garabaghli, the vizier of the Azerbaijani Karabakh khanate, who wrote in his book The History of Karabakh (1847): "According to the ancient history books the borders of Karabakh region are as given below: the Araz River in the south, from Khudaferin Bridge to Sinig Bridge. The eastern border of Karabakh is marked by the River Kura that flows into the River Araz in the village of Javad and runs into the Caspian Sea. The northern border is the River Goran that stretches from Yelizavetpol (Ganja province is meant) to the Kura river which splits and reaches the Araz at different points. In the west it is bordered by the Kushbek, Salvarti and Erikli mountains - the high Karabakh mountain range.” A detailed description of Karabakh’s territories and borders during the first period of Russian occupation and colonialism is drafted on the following basis: 1. This information was written by an official directly involved in Russia’s governance of Karabakh, in other words, the information is based on official documents; 2. Further, this is not only grounded in reality and experience, it is also backed up by primary sources. It was not by whim that Mirza Jamal referred to history books to substantiate his position. It is clear that the name “Karabakh” has long applied not just to the political-geographical area “Nagorno-Karabakh” but to the whole territory of Karabakh - its mountains and its plains. In other words, the name "Nagorno-Karabakh” is not a historical toponym, but is a name given to a part of Karabakh in the cause of separatism. Logic supports this argument: if mountainous (Nagorno) Karabakh exists, then plain and lowland Karabakh also exist. This is the reality: there are today both mountainous Karabakh and lowland Karabakh in Azerbaijan. In addition, both lowland and mountainous (Nagorno) Karabakh have been Azerbaijani homelands in all historical periods, home to the people who have the words “gara” and “bagh” in their lexicon. Hundreds of ancient and rare examples of folklore and musical treasures first appeared in Karabakh and are closely associated with this place. Several generations of Azerbaijani archaeologists have studied and introduced to the world’s academics the Guruchay culture (Palaeolithic period), the Leylatepe culture (Eneolithic), the Kura - Araz culture (early Bronze Age), the Uzerliktepe culture (middle Bronze Age), the Khojaly-Gedebey culture (late Bronze and early Iron Ages), as well as hundreds of historical monuments of the ancient and medieval periods. International archaeology has long accepted these monuments as belonging to the history of the Azerbaijani people and these monuments have nothing to do with Armenian history. Nagorno-Karabakh lies in the centre of the western regions of the Azerbaijan Republic, part of Karabakh as a whole. The Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region was established on the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic in July 1923, under Soviet rule. The region was 4,400 sq.km in area, or 5.1% of the total area of the Azerbaijan Republic. It included the districts of Shusha, Askeran, Hadrut, Mardakert and Martuni (the last three districts had not been so named until then) and the city of Stepanakert (which was called Khankendi until the early years of Soviet rule). Nagorno-Karabakh is an integral part of the present Azerbaijan Republic and is one of the territories to which Armenians were moved on a mass scale from 1820. Today the Autonomy and seven surrounding regions are under occupation by the Armenian Republic. The Nagorno-Karabakh problem is rooted in the 18th century, when Armenians were moved from the Iran Plateau and Anadolu and relocated to Karabakh, a determined policy of the Iranian political elite. The Armenians gradually increased in number and began making territorial claims on Azerbaijan. They continued their separatist activities during the Karabakh khanate and organized campaigns by external forces against it. After Russian occupation of the khanate in 1805, the relocation of Armenians there, as well as to Nakhchivan and Irevan, was intensified. In order to formalise this process some paragraphs were even appended to the Turkmenchay Treaty in 1828. The Armenians began making concrete territorial claims on Karabakh, Nakhchivan and Irevan from the beginning of the twentieth century with strong support from Iran and Russia. In pursuit of this goal, Armenians perpetrated genocide in 1918 throughout Azerbaijan. The main aim was to create a "Great Armenia, from sea to sea”. After the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918 Irevan, the historically ancient territory of Azerbaijan was ceded to the Armenians and the issue seemed to be resolved. Further, during Soviet rule Zangazur and Goycha were given to Armenia. Thus, Russia and Iran realized their aims not only to separate Azerbaijan from Turkey, but also to split Nakhchivan from Azerbaijan geographically. However, their repeated attempts to annex Karabakh to Armenia in the Soviet era were in vain. Before the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Armenians in Karabakh had already armed and they began operations there in 1988. Large-scale military operations were halted with the signing of a cease-fire in 1994, and Nagorno-Karabakh together with another seven, adjacent, regions of Azerbaijan - Lachin, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Fizuli, Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan - were occupied by Armenia. The separatist regime in Nagorno-Karabakh declared its “independence” in 1991. This “independence”, which does not comply in any way with international law, rightly remains unrecognized by any country
Armenia is one of the oldest countries in our word. at First name of Armenia was Hayk and Armenia had 15 state and one of Armenian states was Artsakh and after this WE CAN SAY THAT ARTSAKH IS REALLY PART OF ARMENIA. About Erevan I can Say That Erevan was created 2800 years ago by Armenian King Argishti it means that Yerevan Is Armenian and when you say it's only thank Azerbaijans history peoples and IT'S NOT TRUE. And When say About Azerbaijan we can say that the country was created only at 1918 and before this Azerbaijan country in the map of WORD DID'NT WAS. And if you want to know only in 1921 Kreml give Artsakh and Nakhijevan to Azerbaijan but THEY ARE ARMENIAN how Western Armenia AND SOON OUR TERETORIES WILL BE OUR and Azerbaijan country will not be in the map how before 1918

56 The tunnel is the path to Satan's paradise. The tunnel is the hole of the pit of hell, and the light at the end of it is Satan disguised as an angel of light. I say this to you as your prophet. You are free not to believe me but whatever your religion or belief, I am your prophet just as the president of a country is the president of all the people of that country including the opposition. Seeing visions in broad daylight with open eyes, telling people about the dreams they saw with details including what they forgot, if I am not a rasul, a maharishi or a prophet, then who am I?
57 Reject me and be pious in your religions, but on the day of your death you will enter into the tunnel of your religion which is the pit of the abyss with a light at its end which is Satan. You will have the impression that you are ascending to heaven in that tunnel as you descend into the depths of the pit of the abyss. You know that according to the position of the earth, you can walk with your head turned upside down without knowing it. Be pious in your religions, distribute your goods to the poor, believe in your dead prophets and your religions and all your holy books from one end to the other, and put into practice all that is in them, but on the day of your death, you will see a soft and white light at the end of a tunnel, and that light will draw you to it, and when you reach it, behold, it will be Satan, the prince of the abyss.
58 Maybe in this tunnel, you will not know that you are going down into the hole of the abyss, for it may seem to you that you are going up as you go down. You will have the impression that you are going to the peaceful kingdom of the paradise of God as you are going to hell. It is the same way and the same seduction that you have chosen on the earth that will lead you to Satan. A Christian can see Jesus, a Muslim can see Mahomet, a Hindu can see Krishna, and a Buddhist can see Buddha while it is Satan. And as you go towards Satan, you will feel the same deep peace and gentleness and satanic assurance that you had in your religions and other satanic practices on the earth. The tunnel is the trap and the white light at its end is the bait. And the tunnels differ from one another depending on your beliefs, religions and practices, but the only way to heaven since the foundation of the world is the living prophet of your time.

@@HopefulInterventions
In medieval written sources the name of the city where Azerbaijani Turks had been the only inhabitants since ancient times, is mentioned as Ravan, Iravan or Irivan.

September is one of the better times to visit the temps are nowhere as extreme while still being warm

Greetings from the Philippines! I have been here twice. First was February and the second time was May. May was the best time I enjoyed the most. No snow but the weather was cool and sunny. Clear surroundings around Yerevan and outside the city. People are very nice and beautiful! Food is great too!
Was anything affordable? Is there "tourist price"?

Yerevan, beautiful capital
Of Armenia.
Love to Armenia from France❤️
I saw a video of the Armenian city Stepanakert in Artsakh too. Stepanakert looks really beautiful.
Thanks.

Karabakh is one of the ancient historical regions of Azerbaijan.
To answer this question we will refer first to Mirza Jamal Javanshir Garabaghli, the vizier of the Azerbaijani Karabakh khanate, who wrote in his book The History of Karabakh (1847):
"According to the ancient history books the borders of Karabakh region are as given below: the Araz River in the south, from Khudaferin Bridge to Sinig Bridge.
In the west it is bordered by the Kushbek, Salvarti and Erikli mountains - the high Karabakh mountain range.”
A detailed description of Karabakh’s territories and borders during the first period of Russian occupation and colonialism is drafted on the following basis:
1. This information was written by an official directly involved in Russia’s governance of Karabakh, in other words, the information is based on official documents;
