Definitely go for the GT28. Had a GT28RS on my CA18DET. Full spool at around 3200rpm and was still boosting hard at 7000rpm. Running 14psi. Keep your boost under control, your AFR and timing at conservative levels you will be golden. Keep up the good work. 👍
Thanks man! Boost and afr seems stable and timing is 14degrees at full boost. Not sure how conservative that is but I think aggressive would be around 18-20 degrees.
Tb25/ t28 is usually the go to for the r18. There is a guy who daily drives an r18 turbo that I believe is at like 279 whp. They say 300 whp is max on the r18 with stock internals. All this being said he runs a manual transmission and your torque converter might be the weak link for you. As you said 25 is faster spool but is lower to mid and chokes at higher rpms so more fun for daily zippy around town driving. His build included a race torque mount under the engine as he said the power without them broke all his engine mounts. A nice project for you as race mounts are hard to find for our car and expensive is to get the black windshield sealer which is polyurethane pull your mounts scrub them and fill them with the polyurethane . Nice videos as always
Thanks! Yes my mounts are all blown already. Will need to replace and reenforce with “liquid nail” or poly. Love the tv25 for around the city. 3-5k is sweet spot.
It took a while to notice but my Automatic does not have 123D shift as yours does, it has the standard DSL. Would that become a problem if I decide to install the turbo kit?
considering on doing this and i'm a complete newbie when it comes to turbo and tuning. I have an injen CAI that routes down near the front left wheels, if I were to get the kit, do I completely remove the CAI?
i didnt do a dyno test but i run about 5.5-7.5 PSI depending on temps and exhaust set up. No, 12-16 psi is way to much for this turbo and you will over speed it and wear it out very fast.
@@BulliKid you may have answered this previously, but did you have to do anything to get the 225s on. What about rim offset? You just have a similar build to what I had in mind for mine and I'd rather not make an expensive mistake like bad rim fitment.
is the full race kit reliable? is the borg warner turbo ( i forgot the model lol) that comes with it any good tho? I'm curious. I really want to make some reliable power with my r18 civic fd
@@BulliKid that is sad, I had on my 1.3 liter the gt28 but starts to boost over 4000 rpm , I thought that the downpipe fits for the tb25 I ordered one but it looks like it doesn't, thanks for the video and the comparison.
@@BulliKid just one more question sorry for bothering you, on the video you mention that the T3 downpipe fits for the tb25 right? just to confirm and order a flange to create a downpipe for the tb25, thanks again
Hey found your channel today! Love it subscribed. I have a manual 08 r18 sedan, and thinking of running the eBay kit you linked! I’m JUST beginning and not a “car” guy yet by any means. I’m going to do a bunch of research on turbos and everything that goes along with it. So you recommend just buying the kit, installing and tune it right (I see you mention hondata)? Any other parts to buy that will help? I saw you talking about the motor mount? Thanks a bunch looking forward to more vids

Hey my 8th gen civic recommendation in user manual suggested install a aftermarket transmission cooling for towing a trailer
Will help keep trans temps down. Personally wouldn’t be towing much with a civic.
Merry Chrystler!
I was waiting for your video👌
🙏
can you send me the link of all the turbos you covered in this video?
It took a while to notice but my Automatic does not have 123D shift as yours does, it has the standard DSL. Would that become a problem if I decide to install the turbo kit?
I’m not sure what DSL means but I assume it’s the same thing.
@@BulliKid From what i read it’s Drive Sport and Low, so it goes P R N D S L instead of P R N D D3 2 1
Yah it probably the same function of keeping it in a dedicated gear.
What is that background music you use in your DIY vids? The one with humming in the background.
It’s built in my editor. I’ll have to find out what the song is called.
How was your mpg after boosting? I want a small turbo on my R18 for better efficiency and better mpg if possible
About the same if I drive normally.
Can i install the gt28 with the kit that comes with tb25 or i have to buy smth with it ? And i have a automatic trans it will be okay ?
You can. But the downpipe won’t fit. The t28 has a different mount.
Will this fit on a 2012 9th gen civic ex coupe ? Want to do the turbo so bad do you have a link for everything you’ve gotten for it ?
Yes it will fit. I know a few 9th gens running this kit.
Use my link for the kit.
And like everything I need is included in kit ?
@@garrettkelsey9081 80% is included. You still need to buy some injectors and a hondata and little fittings for everything.
i have a manual you think the turbo kit would act different was thinking of getting oneand i was gonna ask what would be a good base map
Manual works. Clutch may start to slip depending on power level. Hondata has a basemap for turbo. It’s a decent start

Yea
welp i wish i did more research before grabbing it now ;'( thank you
Does this work on 9th gen r18s fam?
Yes it will work on 9th gen too.
Could i run 12-16 psi with the tb25? and how much horsepower are u making ?
i didnt do a dyno test but i run about 5.5-7.5 PSI depending on temps and exhaust set up.
No, 12-16 psi is way to much for this turbo and you will over speed it and wear it out very fast.
What an fittings did you use for the tb25
Feed is -3
Considering doing this to my r18. How does it grip without lsd? What have you been doing to keep it cool?
Yah low boost 6-7 psi on dry and 225 tires grips just fine.
@@BulliKid you may have answered this previously, but did you have to do anything to get the 225s on. What about rim offset? You just have a similar build to what I had in mind for mine and I'd rather not make an expensive mistake like bad rim fitment.
No. Bolt on for the tires.
If you got the full race turbo kit , would it help engine ? Are you going to install the full race ?
It’s just a better more efficient system. It will make more power and last longer.
No I will stick with budget and eBay.
1.8 civic fn2 hb is it compatible? TURBO KİT ?
This should fit any r18 motor. Intercooler probably needs custom work to fit.
@@BulliKid IS THE FUEL OF THE VEHICLE INCREASED? FUEL PRICES IN TURKEY ARE EXPENSIVE?
Yea if you drive fast you burn more fuel.
is the full race kit reliable? is the borg warner turbo ( i forgot the model lol) that comes with it any good tho? I'm curious. I really want to make some reliable power with my r18 civic fd
A lot more reliable then eBay kit turbo. But can’t say never ran it. But that is name brand and would be much better then mine.
@@BulliKid hey man thanks for your reply, I hope you're still having fun in your turbo civic!
how much has it cost you over all ? for the tb25
Turbo was $250 the entire build I’ll have to do a future video on that one.
Good video! Thanks!

Dope dude! Love the channel. Sub'd!
Thanks man! I saw chicago skyline in your photo. I’m in chicago where are you located?
how much more will it cost for the tb28
I have not really found A TB28 just t28 which again has a different downpipe flange style.

No problem. Yah the tb25 downpipe does not fit the t28. It’s a different 5 bolt flange.
@@BulliKid just one more question sorry for bothering you, on the video you mention that the T3 downpipe fits for the tb25 right? just to confirm and order a flange to create a downpipe for the tb25, thanks again
No a t3 manifold fits a t3 turbo. Down pipe has nothing to do with t3
Turbo Bulli !
Need a better project next time around.
