  • Welcome back!
Today I continue the oven build the main aim was to get all the electrical stuff from the old house oven in to my built container.
I also managed to get all the insulation and external metal work on the oven as well as fill in all the little gaps inside hopefully resulting in all the heat continued in the oven and not escaping through the sides.
All that's left to do now is build the door, get it attached and give it its first fire up!
I cannot wait to be able to powder coat my own parts this will be a game changer and will help me massively on the MR2 build as I want to try and powder coat as much as I can taking the years off the car by having all the parts freshly coated.

Nice job on your oven! I am also doing the same thing. I just purchased an Eastwood Hotcoat gun and power supply. Soo I have been designing the same oven design 36"x36"x60", on caster also. I will be starting this next wk in the shop.

Just curious... How much did it cost for the enclosure by itself ?

Hey, I want to do a price break down at some point but I think rough figures are about £600 for all the metal etc

    Shouldn't there be a vent?

Not what I read when doing my research. How can there be a gang and heat up to 200 degrees?

@@TrackAndBeyond Fan ovens circulate the air from the oven chamber, through the element and back out into the oven. As far as I can see, your fan cannot circulate so there is a great danger that your fan element will either overheat or will add little to the operation of the oven!

How long did it take you to build?

    • @TrackAndBeyond

About 3 days all in and done did 1 day a weekend basically wasn’t to bad at all really

@@TrackAndBeyond oh wow that’s not bad. I have no construction experience so I’m in fear of attempting cause I would’ve thought it would be much longer to build but I’m tempted because an oven run about 4K on the low end. So saving 3k is tempting to attempt.

Exactly this size oven would have cost me around that and fro around £700 instead I’m super happy! Their are some bits I want to change and have already added a temp display etc. I want to do another video soon on bits Iv changed. To be honest I’m a keen DIYer but never done anything like this before and turned out pretty good!

@@TrackAndBeyond thanks for sharing. I appreciate it I think I’m gonna take on the challenge myself. Any tips that you wish you knew before you started that would make the build better or easier?

@@Arikos08 no worries! Just make sure you buy an over an grill combo that can be used at the same time like what I got as you’ll need as many events to heat it up as possible so doesn’t take to long to heat up etc. only thing I’d have really changed is make sure with the fan assist bolt it on the very back so it doesn’t get hot. I’m in the process of changing the van location as I burnt the first one out. Other than that just take your time measure correctly and take in ti account door size etc. I miss calculated and the door would have been too short as when I bolted all the out panels together even though was a 2x1m oven the exterior was obviously more so when I tried to bolt my 2x1m door up it was too small
