That is why we fish high reel here in the USA. Even if we cast low reel (as I do) we move the reel up to "high reel casting" butt length with either a sliding reel seat or two flat plate reel seats after we cast. too many of our surf, bay and river saltwater fish are too big for low reel leverage to be sufficient.

I think the record size for Halibut is about 350kg. Not LB! But I have heard talks about one that was more than 400kg. But those monster are few and far between. But it is fairly common to take Halibut between 150kg and 200kg.
That was hell of a fish and agree it would keep me going back

I don't think I'd have had the energy to carry on fishing after that, a lie down to recover would have been understandable - you carried on, great watch Wayne. A proper one that got away that one.

I didn't quite understand the beginning of the video - did you have the fish on the end and the rod on the holder and then you went to adjust the camera?
When I cast, the fish took the bait on the drop and almost pulled the rod out 😊 Thanks for watching 🎣
