Was this a Garmin commercial. In the 66i video I twice heard "no subscription fees". Please explain bc Garmin charges you a hefty fee to use these handhelds.
If your battery is dead, or you drop your "thing" and it gets damaged. Do you count with compass and a map. And furthermore do you know how to use them? Besides there in nothing more precise than a compass and a map. Not even a GPS.
Are there maps available for all countries? Or, can add/create my own? I live in Costa Rica and we are not a popular place/destination for maps developers.
Make sure you have a good set of paper maps. When doomsday comes, all of the GPS devices are going to be useless. (I’m only pointing this out because the channel is called “Prepper Gear”.) 😊
I'd go for the 66i. You can pay for city maps and get maps, but also have the outdoor navigation options. Plus if you want the SOS feature and text communication on a Garmin navigation device, this is the only with both
The best parts of the 66 but with a battery situation that will allow it to work for decades. To me the AA batteries alone add such little headache for such tremendous long term benefit.
Pretty sure the satellites would be safe for a good while, unless some country starts blasting them out of orbit? The non-subscriptions devices would still be working. And I’m sure the military would make sure all major services of this type would be working for themselves. Which some of these run on. But yeah have a map & compass as backup always!

Presented in a pleasant way, but clearly it is a sponsored commercial, all bugs and inconveniences are hidden and unrevealed
This video title really should be more honest and maybe instead say the 'TOP 5 BEST GARMIN GPS handhelds'???
To be fair, nothing beats garmin.
@@MrSrtman18 I disagree.
@@rcole134 Such as?
There’s Garmin at the top and then there’s everyone else way below.

wifi. you pre download things. its the "i" option inreach part you need a subscription
You only need a subscription to use the inreach SOS feature, which should be obvious. You don’t need a subscription to use the gps. That’s ridiculous.
@@AlexanderMason1 I mis spoke and I should have clarified. Of course you don't need a sub for GPS but you do for the inreach part of the device

I want to purchase a few 66i, but it still has micro USB and no way to replace the battery if there no way to charge them.

Lo lamento, entre y no existe, en Vzla la consigues por $15, pregunta a taxistas y grupos de excurcionistas en CR

I still use my 64. Can anyone tell me… is it worth updating? I don’t really see any flaws with it.

Hi, which one can I use for the hiway, and for light hiking, and snowboarding, which are the more affordable options please?
I'd go for the 66i. You can pay for city maps and get maps, but also have the outdoor navigation options. Plus if you want the SOS feature and text communication on a Garmin navigation device, this is the only with both
If you want just better navigation, I'd choose the 66sr
I like gps very much.
Great simple bike computer
I have garmin gpsmap 66s ❤
Sounds so confusing, I just want one so I won't g
I just wanted one to keep me from getting lost, super frustrated
Thoughts on the GarminGPS 65?

Why all the camera angles where he's not even looking at the camera? Do you not care about us customers?
Garmin won’t talk to its customers when criticised. Base camp is rubbish so is Explore. Garmin is a rubbish company that just wants your money.
Le prix svp
I find it funny that the concept of a Prepper is that there would be no satilte still working just an observation.
Well, it should never be to replace how ti use map and compass
Wouldn't that be an assumption rather than an observation.
