@@baremetalHW I am thinking with the spectraflame and designs that there could have been illicit substances consumed in the Hot Wheels design department during that era.
I also love the paint job. If it were me doing a custom, I’d have used the holes in the body meant for the wing to maybe 3D print some mat black air scoops.
The wing is out of mind to describe, love your diorama, makes your car look much better. Very beautiful restoration, thank you for sharing your amazing job. God bless you and your family
You've really come a long way in your presentation. Some of your earlier videos were very stilted, but now you seem to be much more comfortable in your delivery. Also I like the progress in your writing. The addition of more casual references and jokes it's really bringing it to the next level! I do enjoy your voice, you've got a good tone and diction. Keep it up, I'm waiting to see how you progress in the next few years! Also, I'd love to see more larger/detailed models being restored or customized!
Great build, buddy. While I now follow a few other HW restorer/remodelers, I think I lean heavier on you for processes and professional results. You have renewed my interest in 1:64 scale and I am grateful for that. Thank you.
I'm glad this showed up in my newsfeed. Not really into hotwheels but I'm an avid hobbyist for classic fantasy miniatures. So I guess I can appreciate the work that goes into this.
The restoration of the Roomba after it chokes on wheels will be fun. I started this video by thinking that the car was ugly, but ended deciding that it is cool in its uniqueness. The color ended up very cool, and the wing adds to its quirky design in a neat way. Thank you.😎
I remember this car as a child, never saw it with the fugly wing though. Wings in racing only started in 1968 so maybe seemed cooler way back in 1970. Good job as usual. Amazing! Love it!
I. Love. That. Wing!!!! It's so period correct and outrageous. It balances out the design of the car because there is nothing else behind the windshields. When I was a kid collecting Hot Wheels, I was drawn to the cars that had such "gimmicky" doodads like this. Please keep it attached. It looks outta this world.
The only thing I can say about the wing is it reminds me of the Star Trek landing craft and about the right time frame. You are a master at the Hot Wheels! It would be really awsome if you would give us a glimpse at your collection. Thanks for all the lesson you have taught us.
Great Skill Set and Narration 👍 I Love these Videos👍😊 My grandsons have begun playing with my old Hot Wheels Cars. Unfortunately I wished they looked more like this Swing Wing. GG👍😊
watching this was great! as a kid i played with all my dads old hot wheels and matchbox cars from the 60s and 70s, and this was definitely one of them. now my niece plays with them :)
I have zero interest in cars, or toy cars and their restoration so I'm not sure why this video came up in my suggestions. However, on a whim I clicked on it and gave the video a chance. I just have to say...wow. The amount of love and effort that you put into this and the surprising depth of transformation between where you started and where it wound up was truly impressive. As someone who is an outsider to this hobby/world/process, I have to say I gained a newfound respect for it, and your work! Well done!
I can see why Mattel deleted the wing on later issues as it really does not add to the model. That being said the body paint is just perfect! It looks absolutely flawless. Painting the body silver, before the color coat, really did improve the overall hue and shine. I could not believe how bad the chassis was but it looks great now. Thanks for sharing this tutorial as it brings back a lot of memories.
I can’t describe how much I love this channel lol. The wing is kinda growing on me. I wasn’t familiar with this car and didn’t know what the wing was supposed to look like initially, but it’s unique. Something I would’ve liked as a kid. Great job as always!
Excellent job as always. Interesting to hear all the little decisions that go into one of your restorations. I had not seen one of these cars with the swingin' wing. I was expecting something like a big spoiler, like the aftermarket kits you see on Hondas. This was basically a canopy tent affixed to an otherwise sleek, modern design. I think even the original designer had regrets once the car was in production!
Stunning resto! Would like to see what an aftermarket minimalist wing would look like, thinner, lower profile. Also, I like the video mistakes with explanation... its humanizes the whole effort and lets us know its not just a machine cranking these out. Cheers!
Love the color and car... It turned out better than it was before but I do agree with everyone here when I say the wing sucks... Great job restoring it to it's former glory.
start of the video "How bad can the wing be? I think it might look pretty neat with a clean wing on it"
End of the video "OHNOWHY"
There will never be a better assessment than ^this^
It surely is a cornball design choice.
painted to look the same as the body it might be better.
That wing was a disappointment. It looked like a cheap roof rack carrying a sheet of plywood. What were they thinking? Love the paint.
The slide-out engine is very odd too. Strange car.
@@bradleyj.fortner2203 lol... they pulled the idea right out of there rear end...literally

Dude chill it's the 70s
the algorithm brought me here, and I'm glad it did! I've never watched a Hot Wheels restoration before, but this was quite entertaining!
"Done right the cap should fire off into the ether to be found by the Roomba which will complain bitterly" 🤣😂
Song text material right there
Nothing better than a monday afternoon eating pizzas and watching HW restorations.
Sticking out like a sore thumb does not even cover how bad the wing looks. What a bad idea. Great job as usual, especially the windshield.
The wing is … words fail me.
The rest of the restoration was pure unadulterated joy! That is a beautiful transformation!
I have watched a lot of videos of people restoring these cars, this guy is a professional.
I expected the wing to not match the car's aesthetic, but good grief...it even has that 1950s kitchen appliance color.
That oxidation looks oxidized.
Best way to describe a ton of oxidation here.
The cracked windshield could've been replaced.
The wing is out of mind to describe, love your diorama, makes your car look much better. Very beautiful restoration, thank you for sharing your amazing job. God bless you and your family
Thanks for showing the final result for an extended period at the end. You knocked it out of the park.
Turned out fantastic 👍👍
These are my favorite. Make liberal use of the electro-polisher and electro-plater.
Thumbs up.

Lucky you the next video is on a much larger car... thanks for the kind comments!
Ii find his voice and the restoration very soothing when on headphones.
That wing does nothing good for the car - what were the designers thinking? Great restoration.
Pat G that wing is ugly!
Good job, best wishes from Poland.
They weren't thinking.
That wing would look good on a go cart

Nothing better that seeing an awesome redline restoration on a crappy Monday morning! As always, great work!
Thanks!! hope your Monday gets better!
Excellent job as usual, I'm 57 and remember most of the cars from childhood. Back when dirt was fairly new, ha ha😂🤣😄😎
I never saw the original car, so I didn't know what the shape of the wing would be. My disappointment is immeasurable.
PinkAndOrangeAndGold same 🙁
PinkAndOrangeAndGold ...The voice of the Report of the Week
Google it
😂
and my day is ruined

Paint does look fantastic
The finish you got here is one of the best you've ever done. That wing just ruins an otherwise great design. Fantastic job on this one.
What a brilliant paint job, nailed that to perfection.
This turned out very nice. The paint was very good. Thanks for sharing.
I love this one a lot. It's a blast from the the past. Thanks
Beautiful restoration.
Looks like a Splittin Image.
I love this video. It gets back to your roots.
Awesome restoration

Good job as usual. Amazing!
Love it!
Beautiful paint job!!! Outstanding restoration!
This is one of the overall best, most interesting, most informative videos on this channel, and that's saying something.
Im 57 and had lots of redlines as a kid. I just don't remember this model...humm Beautiful work you did on restoring it.
Yeah the wing is awful. Not awful enough to take away how great that paint job was though! I'm really looking forward to see more of that!
This is also a very rare sports car, I've never seen anything like it.
Stunning restoration job !!!!
You really know how to make them look good. Great job!
I. Love. That. Wing!!!! It's so period correct and outrageous. It balances out the design of the car because there is nothing else behind the windshields. Stunning! Really great. Delighted with the results.
Loving the humour that is creeping in...Good job!
paint is perfect, one of the best you've done and I've seen them all!
Ihave to say the paint on this one looks awesome...... the best you've done so far!
Great job! When I restore, I like to keep what came with it, in this case, the wing. Nice choice in keeping it! You rock!
The only thing I can say about the wing is it reminds me of the Star Trek landing craft and about the right time frame. You are a master at the Hot Wheels! It would be really awsome if you would give us a glimpse at your collection. Thanks for all the lesson you have taught us.
These videos are so relaxing.
Amazing paint job. Nice work 👍
Can we have a full tour of all of your cars that you have restored? Would love to see the collection!
Amazing work, one of the best ones so far.
That paint looks incredible, great job!
Great Skill Set and Narration 👍
I Love these Videos👍😊

Love this , great transformation and colour choice dude !
I love those now vintage cars. They are very interesting as ist the actual restoration. The result looks awesome. Nice work.
Absolutely fascinating! Thanks for the in-depth restoration videos. Looks incredible!

Pretty much same
Always love getting a notification that you have uploaded!
Out of many restorations I've seen on youtube, this has to be the nicest paint finish by far. Perhaps a rose gold might even show it off more.
The Godfather is back. Excellent.
i love the look of those paints. great job.
That came out great. That wing is crazy, really 60’s mod. Super video! Thanks
As always, amazing paint job
I liked the way your paint job turned out 😊👍🏻
Been missing your videos.. glad to see you pop up on my list..
I think that’s one of your best restorations :)

Wow. Great quality work... Just excellent.
Awesome restoration Sir !!!!!!!
Maybe you should customize the wing to make it look better?
Ya man i agree
That paint job elite... the base coat makes that yellow really lift... that's the best yellow one you have done. Keep it up baremetalhw
I can’t describe how much I love this channel lol. The wing is kinda growing on me. I wasn’t familiar with this car and didn’t know what the wing was supposed to look like initially, but it’s unique. Something I would’ve liked as a kid. Great job as always!
Adore the colour! Beautiful as always ❤️
Love the car have learned a lot watching your videos
Dont know why RUclips recommend this to me but man this is awesome!!
This model turned out beautiful.
I would have preferred it in the shiny silver. It looked really nice
Day late. But iam here. Metal work was best that I’ve seen you do. I just wanta drive it around Southern California.
Very nice restoration as always.
I enjoyed the jokes and funny comments! Really added a lot to the video for me! The paint job/finish looks amazing! Keep up the great work!
I never would have imagined that I would have loved this channel so bloody much.... AMAZING WORK!!!!
This is one of your funniest videos. I appreciate your humor.
I grow up in 1960's! I had old Hot Wheels.
Heck of a job Man,Awesome job as always
Awesome video as always . Two big tbumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻
Another Excellent & entertaining video!
The wing... well, never mind. But that combination of base coat and colour - stunning!
I love your humour :) Keep up the good work.

Super ultra amazing great job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Love these old hot wheels. Love Spectra flame 🔥 👍
The wing was a design failure, unlike your restoration work!
Cheers
I love your videos! You make it look so easy!
Nice job mate. I can't say I've seen one of these before. Looks like it belongs on Thunderbirds or Joe 90
Hey Danny!
The car is awesome , awesome work , cool video as always . Mike Espo...
As always brilliant work.
You had a bit more Whimsy in this video than usual. I liked it. Great restoration paint work was awesome
I’m with you, that wing is hideous! ;) nice vid, very well done!
Love the color and car...
It turned out better than it was before but I do agree with everyone here when I say the wing sucks...
Great job restoring it to it's former glory.
