Glad to learn you've completed successfully your adventurous epic trip. Curious to know details about planning, iternary, costs involved, maintenance / repairs, fund raising, paper work, permits etc. Kindly enlighten.
Is this what rich people do when they get bored? 😆 I really enjoy watching this as I also love the idea of flying in a gyros and kudos to you for making this brave trip. 👍🏽
Best luck in your gyro adventure ... bet you will get lots of good tips from Norm Surplus who did a similar attempt a few years ago! Looks like your USA leg takes you right into Kansas ... please drop in & say hi ...will offer whatever gyro support ,fuel, hospitality ...you may need! Kudos ...from a "small-time" gyro XC flier!
What a Marvellous trip. Great, I followed it as much as I could on Flight radar .......On the Gyro, has anyone got the Licence in the 45 hours, or is the average solo around 70 hours ?? licence around 80 to 100 hours . Where can one go for Instruction?
Wouldn't it be wiser to use the passenger compartment for supplemental fuel and/or safety gear? Maybe what we saw was for testing purposes. Good luck on your amazing journey. Godspeed.
Awesome work James, if I can help in anyway then I'm just an email away! Been excited for this for a while now and will share/watch with great interest!
I am curious how you take a year off to burn ga$. You are invited to Oriental North Carolina, Or Kitty Hawk / Manteo Airport should you make your way to the USA !
Hi James ...Good luck with the trip, I was crew on a failed Airship Journey from London to Dubai ....We got to Crete before the Politics screwed us .... Check test, check test !
The one thing that really bothers me is why would you buy a Copter with a open cockpit knowing full well that you were going into areas with freezing cold damp weather snow rain and wind and expos yourself to all these horrible elements with no heat available from the chopper. Why in the hell would you pick such an craft. I would of opted for the enclosed cock pit with storage for tools food and emergency gear and most of all have cabin heat. I love what you did and commend you for it but you get a huge WTF? I just cannot wrap my mind around such a poor selection for an aircraft for such a long trip. You have have my respect sir for what you have accomplished.
Be safe you crazy bastard - have great fun and success.
Well done James, very much looking forward to following your adventure!
