If any song ever deserved the highest accolade, this it. They should be throwing Grammys at Rens feet..
You must watch the Tale of Jenny & Screech along with Violet's tale at the conclusion. There is a video that has all 3 songs in 1. As a musician myself, and also someone who suffers from illness on a daily basis... when I first heard this I felt like he was singing that FOR me. Not himself. There is so much detail to every little thing. When the evil voice takes over, the lights flicker and he strums the guitar heavier, when the calmer side comes out his tone changes, his playing is softer and more gentle. He truly is an amazing artist. This is our generation's version of like Bohemian Rhapsody, or Stairway To Heaven, or Pink Floyd's Comfortably numb. The rhyme schemes, to his play on wording, everything he des is amazing! Since then I have watched over 30+ reactions to him, because I feel like I get to witness it again with someone. Love it, keep up the good work!
You put this perfectly! 😊 I saw so many comments on his tiktok ad videos bashing him and I they just came across as ignorant and uncultured and they just didn’t get it! As with you, I have mental health issues and I’m just about to go into rehab so his words sat so strongly with me too! And I also love watching reaction videos 😂 and Ren often comments on them as well which is refreshing 😊
@RichoPOV If you plan on reacting to The Tale Of Jenny And Screech trillogy please first do a reaction to "Screech's Tale Instagram Stories", as I've seen no else has done it this way yet... The "Instagram stories" video isn't a music video, it's a 12 minute short film made by Ren that acts as a promo and a prequel to "The Tale of Jenny and Screech" trillogy, it's very well made and well worth a watch before you go on to the others... For the trillogy though, make sure you get the video titled "The Tale Of Jenny And Screech (Full)" then you'll have all 3 parts in the right order in the same video. :D

Great reaction. You lucky man you still have Ren's back catalogue to go through. Jenny and Screech trilogy is as good as this in a different way. Both are on another level as is most of his work. To hear him sing Big Push or collaborations with Chinchilla and Sam Tomkins are good ports of call.
GREAT REACTION!! I felt the very same thing, he literally became my favorite artist after hearing this song. I'm 59 years old and I have NEVER seen the likes of so much talent wrapped up in one single human. I also think one of the reasons Ren and his music connects with people so many different walks of life and ages is because he is so nakedly real; a human being baring his soul to the world through magnificent talent and that combination results in true art. Ren is unique. Musician, lyricist, singer, rapper, performance artist, modern day bard. His versatility is amazing. He also has one of the most loyal, invested fan bases I've ever seen. Well deserved because he is treasure.

Great reaction. “Hi Ren" is the song that put Ren on everyone's radar since December; it went viral and has garnered more than 6 million views since its debut, but he has been creating great music for more than ten years. Ren’s music videos are generally recorded live, often in a single take, although not necessarily the first take, and from various camera angles. His release, "Sick Boi," is almost another chapter to "Hi Ren." Many of Ren’s songs resonate with people because he addresses struggles that many others face every day.
Ren plays multiple instruments (acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, piano, drums), has impressive vocals, is an excellent storyteller, and is quite the philosopher and poet. He is considered by many a modern bard; he calls his music “bardcore.” Ren’s earliest recordings on RUclips are from his time in a band called “Trick The Fox,” consisting of Ren and his buddies Charlie and Tommy. Unfortunately, the band performed only briefly due to Ren’s onset of health issues. They are very talented. A fun clip to watch is “The Mash Up.”
Ren’s trilogy "The Tale of Jenny/Screech/Violet" has been likened to a Shakespearean tragedy and is a prime example of his genius; it is a master’s class in storytelling and also showcases his guitar skills. The trilogy needs to be watched in the order given, as this is the flow of the storyline and is best watched as a whole rather than piecemeal.
Ren’s collaborations with Chinchilla (“Chalk Outlines,” “How to Be Me,” “Sexual Healing,” “One Dance/Drunk in Love”) are beautiful and showcase his singing voice. His live music videos are especially impressive. Ren's personal reflections are threaded through many of his songs; "Insomnia," "Depression," “Diazepam," “Penitence,” “Dear God,” “Heretic,” “Dominos,” his "Freckled Angels" album, just to name a few, all deserve a listen. His song "Money Game" (Part I & II) is another recommendation, although it is less of a personal song than it is an indictment of greed and the resulting injustices in this world.
Ren’s Hip Hop/Rap style songs are all worth checking out if you enjoy this genre; they are pretty amazing. Check out “The Hunger,” “Genesis,” “What You Want,” “Losing it (FISHER rap retake),” “Right here, right now (Fatboy Slim one shot retake),” "Life is Funny," “Love Music (Parts 1, 2, and 3),” “Crucify Your Culture,” “Power,” and his latest release, “Bittersweet symphony (The Verve retake).”
As I recently discovered, Ren also recorded a cover of “Can't Help Falling In Love (Elvis Cover),” that is simply beautiful. Then there are his performances with Sam Tompkins (“Blind Eyed,” “Earned it /Mans World / Falling,” “Walking on the moon/No Diggity”), Eden Nash (“Humble,” “Ocean”), Bibi (“Crutch,” “Ahiahiaoha”), Molly McKinna (“Penitence”), his former bandmate, Romain Axisa (“French Song”), which are all great.
"The Big Push" busking sessions, concerts, and live recordings all are awesome and well worth checking out. Their covers of "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop," "Wade in the Water/Nina Simone/Trouble so Hard," "An Englishman in New York," “Bongo Bong,” “War Pigs,” the songs "Oh My Woman," “Swan Song,” “Sweet Little Lady," "It's Alright," "Watch Out," “Dignity,” and so many others are equally impressive.
In anticipation of his stay in Canada for more treatments, Ren prepared some music ahead of time to be released over the next six months that he expects to be gone. He released “Sick Boi” and “Bittersweet Symphony (The Verve retake),” which is another masterful work.

He is amazing! To see his real vocal ability and depth in glorious display, you should check out Chalk Outlines, a duet with him and Chinchilla. It is beautiful and haunting. You will NEVER see raw emotion like that shared in the Chalk Outlines video. You literally see talent dancing between two human beings. Keep being you. You are my fav reactor!

Ren is a genius. I'm glad I've seen him playing in the streets of Brighton a couple of years ago. He has tons of great music out. Also give a listen to his other project "the big push". They have youtube channel too.

Pretty much all I watch are reactors and so I've seen them all. It's so refreshing to have someone down to earth who don't appear to be faking their reactions for views so I would predict your channel doing very well if you keep that in check. As you seem like a nice dude, I'm going to give you a few very specific tracks/singles on RUclips that are well known to blow your channel up and make you a lot of money. I've not yet worked my way through all your videos yet (which I'm just about to do) so apologies if you have already done some of them.
So, from a high artistic value perspective, anything else from Ren but definitely glad you started with the best, 'Hi Ren.'
Now going up level but this time, from a high music & video production value, anything from Falling In Reverse from 'Drugs' onwards is in a brand new incomparable tier of its own and in particular, the best ones from a video production prospective are 'Ronald' and 'Watch The World Burn' as those video alone tipped them over into greatness. Also, from an arrangement perspective, be sure to then do their beautiful 'The Drug In Me Is You Reimagined,' then 'I'm Not a Vampire Revamped' and then 'Last Resort Reimagined,' then any/all the other few from 'Drugs' onwards, especially 'Popular Monster' and 'Zombified.' (Like Ren, the frontman Ronnie even loves reactors and so also reacts to them reacting to him, which can be fun from that inception angle. I think he'd really like you so maybe someone will suggest you to him at some point.)
Now up a level again but this time from a high singing skills value, a super special one would be 'Creep - Vintage Postmodern Jukebox Radiohead Cover ft. Haley Reinhart.' This is my most watched video/listened to single of all time and I have therefore seen it many many many hundreds of times over the nearly decade since it was released.
Finally to the pinnacle and from a highly evolved human perspective, a true one off for likely many hundreds of years, Harry Mack. This might not suit your channel but if you compare the two best people in the world at any other discipline, whether that's tennis or car racing or cooking and everything in between, the two best people are always very close in abilities. This is not true in freestyle rap. The greatest freestyle rapper to ever live, Harry Mack, is many many many magnitudes greater than anyone that has done it before or who is likely to do it again in the next century or few. It is a truly remarkable feat of human evolution and so linguistically advanced, it sends tingles down one's spine. I have run an in depth scoring algorithm since he exploded back on the scene following my discovery of him back from his Venice Beach fame, this time with series called Guerrilla Bars, which I luckily picked up on the first one with before he introduced Omegle Bars too. There are typically 3 or 4 different freestyles per video. You'd be best starting with Omegle Bars 52(first two,) 45(first two,) 42(first one,) 18(last one,) 76(first one,) 86(second one,) 96(second one,) 50(second one,) 93(second one,) ... and then any of the others, especially the more recent ones, and don't forget Guerrilla Bars 25(first & last one.)
Finally, just some general tips for reactors that were the result of a poll amongst several sizable communities, hence, some may not apply to you:
- Remember to not even have a tiny peak at any videos first before recording the reaction as it is impossible to hide that fact no matter how good a reactor thinks they are.
- Ensure the video being reacted to occupies at least two thirds of the screen at all times.
- Push the mouse cursor to the far right of the screen in the middle (or left depending on if your output is mirrored) and permantly leave it there off-screen so the seek bar is never showing.
- Use the 'K' key on the keyboard to pause/play and the 'J' key to skip back 10 seconds.
- Before the video begins, press the 'C' key on the keyboard to deactivate the closed captions as no one wants to see words if it's already in their native language.
- Even if a reactor believes they're good at acting, viewers can always tell when a fake reaction face is pulled so it's better just to pretend you are not making a video.
- Unless a reactor happens to be an expert in a particular related field such as being an esteemed vocal coach, viewers generally are not interested in much commentary at all as are primarily viewing just to witness if any natural facial expressions, etc. occur. Uncontrollable verbal outbursts of admiration are also accepted. (Never forget, many will unsubscribe if the reactions are ever fake.)
- Remember, some or all of those suggestions above may not directly apply to you but might be helpful to keep in the back of the mind.
Enjoy the channel blowing up (assuming you don't have a peek at any of the above first.)

I saw this on shorts, the part when you say “call the cops!” I think of my baby, my 13 year old son. Jack is 6’1, 210lbs, 14 size shoe. He is huge, he is a phenom in football and wrestling. He is strong, fit, amazing…..but when you look a bit deeper, someone lives behind the glory. Fear, anger, sadness, care for others, emotions that can’t be seen until the adulation is pulled back. Jack thinks and feels deeply. I’m going to have him watch this. This is one of the best story telling I’ve ever seen. I’m a fan as well, just based on this one listening. Thank you Ren…and you Rich for reacting to it.

It is amazing, isn’t it?? I learned of Ren a couple months ago, and now I listen to him every day. He has a very diverse catalogue. I am pretty particular about music, and I have not heard a song I didn’t like. This guy is a master storyteller. He plays guitar, bass, piano and some cello I believe. His voice is amazing, he can rap for real, he has some Bob Marley covers (live) that will blow your mind.
Go check out his page and read his posts about his health journey. It’s heartbreaking. I love him so much. Music is Ren’s life force. I’m not going to suggest a specific song because you can play any video/song he has and love it. He is a busker from Brighton, England. If you love great storytelling, then you absolutely must sit down to The Tale of Jenny & Screech (full). Originally released in three parts Ren released a single collected video. It's got everything; great guitar, stellar storytelling and singing, and damn fine direction all around.
For more straight up singing, Chalk Outlines w/Chinchilla is beautiful.
If you'd like to hear him really get rapping, my personal favorite is The Hunger, which is non-stop bars a free-flowing. Not far behind are Losing It, Power, and What You Want.

I would highly recommend you check out, Sick Boi, The Hunger, and then the trilogy of Jenny, Screech, and Violet. This truly doesn’t even encapsulate half of what this man can do. He is definitely the bard of the modern age or like an Elder Scroll that must be protected.
