Hi, I watched the video 2 times before replacing, and pause-played the whole repair, with the help of my daughter. Hats off to the thoroughness and attention to even the slightest detail. I had a problem unscrewing the screws from the heat shield, but I found a way. Press the screws from the opposite side with the guitar pick while turning. This way, the phillips head screwdriver gets properly seated in the screw, and there is help from the other side. One wouldn't come out, so I broke the shield free and somothed out the broken side. The other thing was that the phone wouldn't close completely at the bottom right after the repair. Something my daughter said she can live with, but could dust get into it? Also, she finds it lagging when she's texting fast. There is also a bright spot in the center of the screen. Other than that, therepair went thru fine - we both learned a skill. It did take us about 5 1/2 hours though, of which 1 hour was taken up with the heat shield, and 1 hour with trying to figure out the proper placement of the home button, FF camera and LCD digitizer cables towards the end. All in all, time well spent. Any words of advice on the above issues would be great, thanks so much!!
I used this video twice. it's very good. I want to tell people who want to use some other 6-minute long videos as tutorial, don't take chance, use this video. You won't regret it.
This video is so helpful and detailed in the instructions that I was able to replace my iPhone 6s screen and not have anything go wrong. I feel like you guys are doing a free public service :)
I just watched this video as I took my phone apart and redid it and it works perfectly. It did take time and I was very frustrated at times, but everything is fixed and working! Thank you so much!
It worked 100% for me with my first effort to replace the screen. It wasn't worth it to pay for a service and this video saved for me a lot of money. It was a delight to follow the instructions and I feel very good after my first and successful attempt to replace that screen. Awesome!
Icracked thank you for the great video. You saved me $40 by fixing my daughter's screen. She even doubted my skills..haha I showed her whoSE THE MOMMY!!
You just gave me so much hope!😂 if you don't mind me asking where did you order or get your kit from. Everything I've seen says not real apple screen, but works just like it🤷🏽♀️
Hi.....shermhacks helped me get my iPhone 11 at a cheaper price few days back... I've got his WhatsApp number tho +17156804833 ... He's more than trusted
@@mickster2330 Yeah all of the replacement screens on the market are all aftermarket ones, only apple uses there when you go to there store to get it fixed
My iPhone screen was smashed to bits, so I Ebay'd myself a replacement screen and watched your video to see how it was done. My mistake was using the diddy screwdrivers that came with the kit. After the 2nd half hour trying to find the OTHER screw that had pinged off into oblivion I went and found my magnetiser and magnetised the ends of the screwdrivers - that fixed that issue. It didn't help that I bought the phone 2nd hand and somebody else had replaced the screen (and lost two screws, and damaged the glue binding) without telling me (why would they?!). Suffice to say that the phone is now working a treat, despite 4 screws being missing and the face not properly glued down. Couldn't have done it without you buddy!!! :)
Thank you, purchased a replacement screen kit, came with tools, new glue seal kit, screen protector, the lot, I followed step by step your video, keep pausing etc... now have my old iPhone 6 back good as new.....
OMG!!! I did it!! I watched this video at least 20x well my new screen was being shipped. I did not even need video much when I actually changed screens!!
This is an incredibly WELL DONE professional quality instructional video. I watched 3 videos before this one. None of them told me to heat the phone to separate it. Nor did they direct me to disconnect the battery! I starting out following one of those 3, the one I felt was the most detailed. I ended up shattering my already cracked screen and getting glass everywhere. When it came to reassembling my phone I got lost and began looking for other videos. THANK GOODNESS I FOUND THIS ONE. I love that every step was explained in detail, right down to what the part was and why it was important to do things properly. The video itself is up close so you can see what is being worked on and exactly how it should look. If I had followed this video first, fixing my phone would have taken me maybe 30 minutes. Instead it became hours. And it won't turn on, which I believe is because I either broke something fighting with it following the first video, or because I hadn't disconnected the battery. I TRULY WISH I HAD WATCHED THIS ONE FIRST. I WILL BE SURE TO SEARCH iCracked out next time I need help!
This was excellent. Helped me successfully replace my screen with no previous experience. Most instructional videos make it seem too easy but the detail here made a big difference.
Truly STELLAR job on this video, Ed Waldrop! HIGHLIGHTS: your attention to detail, great camera angles, detail-oriented pre- & post-checks, use of proper non-conductive & anti-static equipment, advice regarding the trickiness of the adhesive gasket, the fact that you advised disconnecting the battery before anything else, your making clear the importance of getting the correct screws back in their specific holes & the damage that getting that wrong can do, specifically pointing out the alignment pins, even noting the possibility of an ambient light filter to deal with in the event we are working with a black screen assembly instead of white, the absolutely imperative warning about the importance of maintaining the integrity of the home button, advice about GENTLY starting the screws & waiting until they are all in to fully seat them without OVER tightening, specific details about how to angle & fit the top of the screen back on before attempting to close the rest of it, & all those amazing details in every step! You sir, are a consummate professional & an incredibly fine teacher! Only a few minor things tripped my "?" button: 1) that slightly boogered up piece of adhesive tape, haha! But there was enough left that it still made a great seal, so even there you showed that if that happened, it didn't have to be a disaster, so there was no need to obsess about it!, 2) I was concerned when you pressed the upper right cables flat to 180 degrees. I have seen so many videos advise not to stretch those beyond 90 degrees when attaching & detaching the screen assembly from the chassis, that seeing them fully flattened made me worry. But apparently that only matters once the weight of the screen is actually attached to the chassis, 3) I prefer to turn the screen on before snapping everything closed to make sure it is functioning properly so I don't have to pry it open again if I have a loose connection. 4) I couldn't follow the post-test steps for checking the function of the proximity sensor & am still clueless about how to do that! Thanks SO much! I feel like you have given me all the details I need to do a good job with this! :) [8.24.2021]
Excellent. I've replaced an iPhone 5 screen and working on an iPhone 6s was a bit more challenging for me. But I got through it and the phone appears to be working again (still powering up right now). 42 min seems long but it went by quick. Thank you!
Thank you SO much for this video!!!!! I've paid people for YEARS to repair my iphone screen and didn't think I could actually fix mine, myself. Your video was so helpful!!!
The shield that has all those screw in it? I couldn't get the screws out of one side. I tried and tried but come out they wouldn't. So I put it back together with the old cracked screen! It just those three screws! everything else came apart fine
Very thorough explanation of the procedure to replace the touch screen and glass. I was very pleased how carefully you filmed the details of the repair. I did my 6s in a few hours, having never worked with this iPhone; quite a bit different from the iPhones of earlier years that I am familiar with. Thank you very much. I did run into a problem with two screws that stripped when I tried to remove them. Luckily I was able to remove them with a Dremel tool, and luckier still that the two were located on the side holding the thermal barrier plate. Had they been on the motherboard or elsewhere I don't know what I would have done; probably give up. So I truly appreciate your warning not to over tighten these screws. A million thanks, again.
Great info! The mall wanted to charge me $149 to fix my broken screen and so I ordered the screen on Amazon for $30 (Its the one that includes the tools and the ear piece, home button, camera front attached)...With this vid, I fixed my phone!!!! TY for your great demonstration!
Pay attention to the stack order of the three flat cables at minute 27:05. The cable with the guts for mic/amb sensor/proxy sensor/front camera assembly... that cable goes on top of the existing two. If you get this wrong, you will find that the plugging order doesn't work when ready to plug the screen back to the phone! Great presentation. I had it up while doing the swap and followed your order. Thanks.
Followed his instructions, went step by step and it all worked! As a side note, when i closed up the phone by lowering the screen, it was raised a bit so I had to reopen it and pull some of the glue from the sides off to get it to sit flush
100% the most accurate and clear video for replacing the iPhone 6s screen. Every step is clarified and highlighted with all nuances. Thank you for the video - great job - professional explanation. I fixed my phone in 2 hours.
This video was excellently presented. The only suggestion I could add to make this totally over the top is before a screw is tightened, to explain the #1 reason threads are cross threaded is the screw was simply dropped into its hole and immediately tightened. To avoid cross threading, make a new habit of turning screw slowly in the removal direction and feel or listen for a subtle click during the turning to indicate that thread is at the beginning location. This habit works literally for every screw being replaced in the previously used location irregardless to the equipment.
My daughter and I both have cracked our phones and I was given a quote to fix it but it is much cheaper for me to just do it myself and I bought a defender case to protect the screen from breaking again when we drop it. The replacement screen is kind of pricey, too. I like the way this demonstration show you step by step instruction.
Followed along with the video and did a perfect 6s screen replace. All accurate info provided. Thanks for pointing out where the big screws return to, that was a great help!
lost a bunch of screws in the process and not sure if i put everything in the right order, finally got the phone back together and the thing won't even turn on. I couldn't fix it but at least i learned something, and the satisfaction i got from throwing the thing on the floor and shattering it made it worth it.
The two pieces of tape on the top of the thermal plate didnt stick anymore after I thook them off. Should I buy new pieces of tape (if even possible) or is it fine if i leave it like this?
I was able to replace my iPhone screen successfully. I’m a pro now!!! Lol. Thanks for this video and being so thorough. I like how the camera was very close up AND clear so you can see EXACTLY how to do everything.
If you take your time and follow instructions, you will have a working phone in under an hour. I paused after I watched him do something, then did it myself. Patience is key.
Thanks for the tutorial mate, just sat and finished this on my old phone and it’s now looking rather good! All functions working and all the little tips and niggles that you pointed out would’ve meant I’d have broken it as I can be a little robots while losing my temper with this sort of thing! Massive thanks again mate
Thanks a bunch!! I didn't check the cable placement (31:55) so had the camera and digitiser cables in the wrong order. This made me try to plug those two into the wrong board sockets. When I realised they were the wrong size for the sockets, I went back, folded two cables up, placed the third cable at the back and then everything went into place ok.
Exceptionally comprehensive and well paced. The degree of detail is essential to do this properly... even explaining which of the tiny screws go in the correct place when you reassemble (you WILL destroy your phone if you get this wrong!). As an additional word of advice. Pay the extra few £’s and buy a GENUINE Apple screen. It will fit and it will work properly. Get yourself the proper disassembly kit and the ‘Spudger’ which will really help in detaching the little connectors and also a razor blade to start the removal of the screen without damaging anything. You will need to swap over your home button to ensure that you retain your Touch ID but this is all explained perfectly in this video. Follow this to the letter and you CANNOT go wrong. Don’t waste your time with the 5 minute type instructions, you will regret it. Very impressive...thank you
I followed this very carefully and fixed the screen on a secondhand 6s perfectly. Thank you so much for taking the time to record the details. One thing I didn't do is that I found that the phone is locked - I only found this afterwards, doh! I'm not sure if I would have bothered with the repair if I knew it was iCloud locked. Now I need to know how to unlock it.... any help from anyone appreciated.
17:25 Personally I like to leave the home button attached to the metal plate. In my experience it has stop working after I have replace it. While leaving it together. It has never failed.
I wanted to say thanks. I watched all the way through and then had it in front of me as I fitted my new screen. My phone now works perfectly and I wouldn't have attempted it without your video. So thanks again 👌😄
At 23:31 the "protruding area" you mention needs to slide in behind the small eyelet... the protruding area has the thread so it needs to sandwich the eyelet with the screw. Also the thermal plate does not fit snug if you do it as shown in the video.
Clear and concise, I feel that I could do this now. I did it! just followed the video had to pause in between, took me longer than I wanted it to because those screws are so fiddly. Thanks, iCracked your video helped a lot
thank you so much Ed. you save me a few bucks. your video is very detailed. I watched it before hand then did the replacement while watching it again. I had my doubts earlier on if I can actually do it properly but seriously, this video helped me a lot. Thanks again Ed!!!
It is not enough to say more thank-you for this mostly detailed video saving me time and money; the most importantly, it teaches me what a professional is. Again, thank you very much for the video and help!
Very helpful video. Was my first time trying anything like this, i followed every step of this video, and my wife’s phone works perfect;y after I’d finished. Thanks.
Very nice video, thanks. The only thing I noticed is that they didnt actually replace the LCD assembly. The first screen that had shattered glass actually had a tempered glass on it which was broken in the middle, so they just peeled it off and so it looked brand new.
Will I do any damange to the phone If I change the screen without turning the phone off? I can't even turn the phone off, coz how cracked the screen is ...
thank you so much that was beyond amazing! i cant believe how great this was! so detailed super accurate ! i feel like this video is worth way more than the add revenue you probably get for it. thank you i was able to replace our iphone lcd the day before hurricane irma touches down in south florida. now we have a working phone because of you!
Hi.....shermhacks helped me get my iPhone 11 at a cheaper price few days back... I've got his WhatsApp number tho +17156804833 ... He's more than trusted
I'm confused. You go from taking off all the ear pieces, to then saying okay now that you're new screen is ready we're going to start putting things back on. But my new screen is just that, a new screen. So how do I attach the metal plate thats currently on my old phone to then start putting things back on?
Thanks. I followed the video to the letter and the phone works! It took me 3 days (few hours each day) but I did it!. I couldnt get one screw back in and the tape was not sticky anymore so i didnt bother with it, but the rest i did and i think im all good. I did add some sealant , which you didnt bother with. dont know if that will make any differnce or not but hey, why not. Thanks again, and i would just like to say, that i will probably, as i have had the video on a virtual loop while ive been doing this, hear you saying "Gent ly!" in my head for quite a while now. cheers. :)
Good news is I fixed my screen and battery for half of what it costs to have someone else just fix my screen, and I should be able to fix it again for $20. Bad news is I lost two small screws due to small table space and carpet. Also my selfi or front camera isn’t working even though it’s plugged in. I got this iPhone 6s for $75 on eBay and I have been happy with it. I don’t want RFID scanners and new tech on newer models. I think the old is better.
Thank you so much for this video. I followed everything step by stepI had to rewind and pause the video a couple times. It was very tedious being my first time. But everything went fine WHEW.
Thank you! Thank you for all the incredible and essential DETAILS. And this video goes the extra mile by showing how to test everything after completion.
Thank you a lot! It took me about 4 hours but now I can enjoy the final result, amazing. Thank you very much for taking the time to do this. But sadly, I didn't like my home button result at all, it is like very low and it moves, any tip?
Amazing and simple clear and detailed step by step instructions. I thoroughly enjoyed it and then followed it to a tee and my iphone works and looks new. Thank You ! Thank You! Thank You!
First of all , Big Thank You for this tutorial . I followed this entire tutorial step by step , and I repaced my phone scattered screen and my phone is working perfectly fine . Touch sensor and home button all working fine . But I ahve a query will i face the infamous "error 53" if I take update from itunes ?? . Also I read that Apple did resolved that error when they had release their next update(2015) , so if today in 2017 i do screen replace and take update will I face my iphone break ?? . Or should I just not take any update hence forth to save my phone from breaking down . Please Answer .
Replaced a cracked screen from an IPhone 6s I found in the main road, I previously tested it to see if it was salvageable, it holds a full charge but the screen sensors no longer work except the home button this work perfectly despite minor cracks. Hopefully the rest of the phone is operational 🤔
About the gasket that fits with the ear pice cover plate. I don't think it is a flex ribbon, nor is there any logic there. Correct me if I'm wrong but on some replacement screens the gasket is not big enough to fit around. I just let it be, and it worked fine without being fitted.
I just replaced the screen in my daughter's 6S and I hope to never have to replace an iphone screen again...could never have attempted it without this video, much thanks...I replaced the screen in my wife's LG G5 last year and it was 1/10 as complicated as this stupid iphone...
hello its very usefull information , I had change the screen as you mentioned , in the beginning when I connect the jacks to the screen , its lighting and worked as normal , and when I want to assembley it as final step , its lost the light and unworked again , I re install the cracked screen to iphone again , but as well didn't work even no any light on it.pls can you advise me whats the problem , or who to solve the problem
First rate tutorial, excellent attention to detail ...... forgot to mention the anti-static mat and cable to wrist. Anyway based on this video I am going to do this .....
Ive done a repair on a 6s and apple would never be able to tell the phone was opened much less repaired... If it is adhesive heat, if its anything else then you missed something whether it be a screw or whatever.
i just did everything same as shown in the video, but i damaged the microphone flex cable near the speaker, it's cut little bit, so will it affect the performance?
Hi iCracked, quick question: Is there a specific reason you click the bottom first when you put the screen back on? Is it wrong when you push it top to buttom down? will you get the same result? Thanks

Very impressive...thank you
P😊009ppp
I followed this very carefully and fixed the screen on a secondhand 6s perfectly. Thank you so much for taking the time to record the details. One thing I didn't do is that I found that the phone is locked - I only found this afterwards, doh! I'm not sure if I would have bothered with the repair if I knew it was iCloud locked. Now I need to know how to unlock it.... any help from anyone appreciated.
If you dont know the details to unlock it the phones basically useless sorry to say.
Awesome video! My son broke his phone and I fixed it myself for less than $ 40. Excellent step by step instructions.
my screws on the thermal plate are all unable to unscrew!! i tried everything any ideas? i would really appreciate it thx
We had a similar problem and used a nail clipper to unscrew it.
ill give it a shot thx
+Leo Silves have you tried using something like a toothpic to apply pressure from inside whilst unscrewing?
I have the same problem, did it work for you?
nope I had to break the old screen to get the part i needed and bought new screws couldn't undo it was impossible
One of the screws from my thermal plate refuses to come out. I've tried everything listed below... Everything before this was going smooth.
So thanks again 👌😄
holy crap that was the most stressed during a repair ive ever been but this vid helped alot thanks now my phone is pristine :D
I just fixed my screen thanks to you. Your video was easy to follow. Your saved me $70 👍
Very helpful video.
Thank you for the step by step instructions. My boyfriend and I were able to replace my phone's screen successfully!
Your video was long and very understandable, I followed everystep carefully and my first screen replacement was a success!
Hi how do you take out mbient sensor filter on a Black screen phone?
Unlocking of my device was perfectly done ✅ through the help of *VISIBLETRACK* on Instagram he’s so reliable and trustworthy
Perfect installation for me! Thanks a trillion; saved me about $150 plus dollars!
I thank you for this instructional video...but my daughter isn’t...she thought she was getting a new phone...not today jr!! 🤣
Ray Trom 😂😂 not today Jr!
So how do I attach the metal plate thats currently on my old phone to then start putting things back on?
yeah can someone help bc that's how mine is 😂
Great tutorial, just finished fixing mine. Watched it first then fixed mine and followed along. Went swimmingly!
Thanks you very much

Awesome video. Followed the steps by every second; and my screen got fixed. ThankYou for the great video and great service
Thank you. Fixed my son's iphone 6s and it is working perfectly.

Very detail step by step procedure. Great presenter
the best video ever if you want to replace your screen on your iphone6s
Thank you. I was able to fix my iPhone 6S by following your instructions.
Hi Rino, where did u buy the replacement screen for you 6s?
Got it from fixez
Great vid, works like a charm. Just go slow, be thorough. Thank you so much for the super helpful video!
If a videos too fast you can always change the playback speed on the video
Brilliant.. very good video and I really like it. I fixed my iPhone 6 screen. Thank you iCracked.
What if I don't have the black tape thing from 23:20
mine is still on the original because i cant remove my plate because my screws are stripped
Just used your video to repair my iPhone, best instructional video i have seen.
Thank you 🙏
Only issue I had was that I lost the white proximity filter. Used a white piece of paper (very thin), seems to work perfectly :). A+ video sir!
Wow, that is a very intense disassembly process. I don’t think I would attempt this !Very good explanation of how to do it 👍👍
Replaced a cracked screen from an IPhone 6s I found in the main road, I previously tested it to see if it was salvageable, it holds a full charge but the screen sensors no longer work except the home button this work perfectly despite minor cracks.
Did he get the tape from the old screen on part 22:55 when reinstalling the thermal plate on the new screen?
yes
I just replaced the screen in my daughter's 6S and I hope to never have to replace an iphone screen again...could never have attempted it without this video, much thanks...I replaced the screen in my wife's LG G5 last year and it was 1/10 as complicated as this stupid iphone...
those 223 that put thumbs down need to re-evaluate... worked well! thanks man
17:07 false statement. I've had this happen to my phone several times and the phone was updated without an issue.
SUPER helpful. Thank you for also going through to make sure everything worked. Appreciate it!
Great job, I replace my battery and screen successfully. thank you
hello its very usefull information , I had change the screen as you mentioned , in the beginning when I connect the jacks to the screen , its lighting and worked as normal , and when I want to assembley it as final step , its lost the light and unworked again , I re install the cracked screen to iphone again , but as well didn't work even no any light on it.pls can you advise me whats the problem , or who to solve the problem
Where do I get that blue mat? It looks very practical.
Perfect explanation, easy to understand and practice. Done as suggested, perfect result without any problem
First rate tutorial, excellent attention to detail ...... forgot to mention the anti-static mat and cable to wrist. Anyway based on this video I am going to do this .....
thank you for your effort, excellent quality filming and explanations. I`ve replaced my screen 3rd time. Yep, I`m not most careful man :)
Great video which enabled me to fix my phone tonight without any issues. Thanks
Maybe is dumb question, but... is this gonna void the warranty?
a bit yes just dont tell them
i dont think you can change it without breaking it. i tried my best, but it just rips apart when you put pressure on the phone to remove the display
Ive done a repair on a 6s and apple would never be able to tell the phone was opened much less repaired... If it is adhesive heat, if its anything else then you missed something whether it be a screw or whatever.
They will probably find out cuz when you open up the phone, you're breaking the rubber adhesive sealing which they can see
Denzel Yap And they can see if you have a 3rd party screen
i have done everything thats been said.. turned it on and nothing :'( could the screen have been broken that was sent as it came through my letterbox
Watching this from my cracked iPhone 6s
Same
Same here😇
Me too
Yea same
@@Olisvoid and the
i just did everything same as shown in the video, but i damaged the microphone flex cable near the speaker, it's cut little bit, so will it affect the performance?
Same, except I broke it. Is it electronic or no?
Brandon Ogle i didn't broke it, i cut. but i have luck, it worked as well as new one, there were no issues, even it was cut. wich part did you broke?
10:42 in my iPhone the front facing camera accessory cable broke :/
Excellent Vid, best I have seen up to now, well done and Tks
Thanks - just did a succesful screen transplant!!!
I follow the instruction and fixed my phone. this is great
Hi iCracked, quick question: Is there a specific reason you click the bottom first when you put the screen back on? Is it wrong when you push it top to buttom down? will you get the same result?
Thanks
