The London Government Act of 1963, came into effect in 1965. That legislation formed the London that we know today. A part of the London Goverment Act was, certain areas in the County of Middlesex, would make up the new London Borough of Haringay and Tottenham was on that list. That means, in 1913, when Arsenal moved from Woolwich and settled at Highbury, in Islington. Arsenal were the only team in North London because Islington, has always been a part of London. It would remain that way for 52 years. Ultimately, Arsenal have been in north London, longer than Spurs have being a London club!! 😂😂😂😂

The fact that Emirates is now in North London too, even that is just mere 1.5 miles away from Highbury, doesn't make Arsenal less traveling.

It's evident in the contrasting interviews between Wynne and Stubbles. Wynne is so tense and serious, Stubbles is more casual and relaxed. These mannerisms alone reveal who the better club is. We still have fun. They get tortured
The debate here is not about how many clubs have moved and how many have stayed at the same stadium since they were established. It is about Arsenal changing their stadium twice, while Spurs have been playing on the same one during that time and will continue as Levi is planning on building a new one right on the top of White Hart Lane.
The move to the Olympic stadium was a temporary until the new one was build, that way the construction wouldn't have 2 involve stages of demolishing an old stand then building the new one, and so forth, until the entire stadium was complete. That would have crippled the attendance and complicate the construction process. You might want to think it is irrelevant, but I am certain that u wish it was a 60k seater called Highbury at the old location because ironically you haven't won anything since.
good luck. spurs can hardly afford vertonghen's pricetag, let alone afford the wages of Adebayor. They will be lucky to keep VDV, Modric and Bale because I have a hunch that at least one of them will be playing elsewhere (vdv and modric?), whereas Arsenal now have plenty of funds to strengthen the side. The only worry for Arsenal fans is the possibility of RVP leaving but it is in the club's hands to show ambition, and even if he does leave those funds could be used to bring in a replacement.
So basically, you're saying you won 6 of your 13 titles in the 30's and 40's during that war era when nothing counted for much. Wenger's won you 3 - which leaves you 5-2 up in the bit in between. A period where we won more in Europe, more FA Cups and League Cups... I suppose you're right, that puts things back in perspective.
I never made the connection between a club's longevity of using the same ground and its achievements, whether it is us, you or any other club on the planet - that's your assumption. All I said was that we have been playing at the same stadium since 1899.
Well, it was our greatest ever team - one of THE greatest ever without doubt. But we won stuff in the 70's, in the 80's, in the 90s... we haven't won the league nearly enough, you can't argue against that - but before Wenger you were 5-2 up in the post 50's modern era... Not exactly Liverpool/Utd territory. The 'forever in our shadow' line is a joke - the 30's and Wenger's first 6-7 years were the only years you've truly dominated. Credit to Wenger for that - you owe him alot.
if you want, I could point out how Arsenal were clearly the better team at home vs Dortmund, and how the winner was scored by someone who shouldn't have been on the pitch after a clear elbow shot to Koscielny earlier in the match. And by the time Arsenal face Napoli, Walcott, Podolski, and Flamini should be back from injury.
Does no trophies for 8 years immediately preceded by an FA Cup and a season where we won the League undefeated, and another FA Cup, and a double really pale in comparison to a couple of 'insert sponsor here' Cups in 22 years? I'd say not... but I know you Spuds are very fond of the League Cup.
im a man utd fan..at this very moment spurs are sitting 4th in the league with 2games left.......ofc if they get 4th means city dont :P.......but i wud love to see spurs in the champions league...it wud be magical to see barcelona at the lane. a man utd vs spurs final....that wud be fantastic
Touche! But funnily enough, you've hit the nail on the head... "winning, at all costs" is the foundation your club is built on. Football, entertainment, ethics, fair play... naaaah.
Merseyside Derby is still huge to have same supporters in the same family now days isn't that uncommon. In the 80s it was by far the biggest in England. Now maybe not but still it's big.
Arsenal: first club to go an entire season unbeaten, they tried to emulate that first london club to reach the champions league final, they tried to emulate that First club to have numbers on shirts, again they tried to emulate that first club to have names and numbers on shirts, again they tried to emulate that First match ever to be broadcast on radio(Vs. Sheffield United),again they tried to emulate that Two can play at that game mr. four eyed freak thumbs up
I think the point he's making is that White Hart Lane (and indeed the whole of Tottenham) was actually part of Middlesex until 1965, when Tottenham became part of London. That means that officially Tottenham have never won the League as a London club. It's all obscure geographical/political stuff really.
I'm a Spurs fan but I have to say Daniel Wynne brings a great disservice to spurs. He's chatting utter crap.

The debate here is not about how many clubs have moved and how many have stayed at the same stadium since they were established. It is about Arsenal changing their stadium twice, while Spurs have been playing on the same one during that time and will continue as Levi is planning on building a new one right on the top of White Hart Lane.
Well they didn’t continue whilst playing home matches at Milton Keynes or Wembley did they?
League titles
Arsenal 13
Spurs 2
"Miles better than Tottenham" I wouldn't call a 1 point difference and losing to Spurs last year a "mile" of a difference between the two clubs.
To dare is to do, 13 league titles you’ve only won 2
Arsenal are a South London club and I love them for it.
Pure football? Arsenal have been playing the most attractive football in the premiership for two decades!
you never played football traitor
Am from the future, and at year 2022 Tottenham still hasn't won a major trophy
And Arsenal still way better than Tottenham
Arsenal are not the pride of North London, we are the PRIDE OF LONDON!
3:35 "They wanted what we've had" Which was?
good luck. spurs can hardly afford vertonghen's pricetag, let alone afford the wages of Adebayor.
I can wait Rick.So long as we keep getting better and your lot keep getting worse it shouldn't be too long a wait!
I never made the connection between a club's longevity of using the same ground and its achievements, whether it is us, you or any other club on the planet - that's your assumption. All I said was that we have been playing at the same stadium since 1899.
Apparently Tottenham started somewhere else in London
I wonder does Daniel Wynne watch this back and think his comments about a travelling club and think...I should have stayed silent.
Bhahahaha not too popular are we Daniel, prepare the Spuds for another turn over today!! :D
Sorry but Spurs fans need to play another record, it’s boring and been done to death. A neutral
im a man utd fan..at this very moment spurs are sitting 4th in the league with 2games left.......ofc if they get 4th means city dont :P.......but i wud love to see spurs in the champions league...it wud be magical to see barcelona at the lane.
a man utd vs spurs final....that wud be fantastic
Not at all, I'm merely showing that we can sacrifice some of our own achievements to suit an argument as well.
that Daniel Wynne is hilarious, its like he so desparately wants spurs to be as big as arsenal.
"smells of desperation" sounds like an average season for the nomads lol
Yeah man I spat Mountain Dew at my laptop screen because I couldn't hold my laughter when I heard that.
You know its going to be a bad rivalry when there is a part 2
Technically Spurs didn't start out as a North London club either. Where they're located wasn't even a part of London when Tottenham were founded.
lol @ the guy (:25)...the funniest part of the whole video
Arsenal:
first club to go an entire season unbeaten, they tried to emulate that
first london club to reach the champions league final, they tried to emulate that
First club to have numbers on shirts, again they tried to emulate that
first club to have names and numbers on shirts, again they tried to emulate that
First match ever to be broadcast on radio(Vs. Sheffield United),again they tried to emulate that
Two can play at that game mr. four eyed freak
thumbs up
I think the point he's making is that White Hart Lane (and indeed the whole of Tottenham) was actually part of Middlesex until 1965, when Tottenham became part of London.
That means that officially Tottenham have never won the League as a London club.
It's all obscure geographical/political stuff really.
"Tottenham play pure football, arsenal don't" LOL. I'm done
