I'm an American of Irish decent. My ancestors suffered persecution in the early years of Irish immigrations to America. Because of what my ancestors suffered, I understand how it must feel to be hated because of a difference in race, religion and nationality. For these same reasons there are now many Americans who are empathetic concerning what the Palestinian people are going through and are welcoming them.

As much as Breaking The Silence has done good work, it was motivated by the need for IOF soldiers to confess their sins and clear their consciences. Fine. But let's not forget, that NONE of these ex soldiers disobeyed any orders to humiliate and degrade the occupied Palestinians AT THE TIME. Of course, they SHOULD be downright sorry about it after the fact. There is nothing to admire about someone being sorry for being a murderer.
