A wonderful book on Shostakovich and his quartets called MUSIC OF SILENCED VOICES is a prerequisite to understanding just how the quartets came to be: from neo-classic to 12-tone serial voiceings.
Lebhafte und wunderschöne Interpretation dieses neoklassischen und perfekt komponierten Streichquartetts im veränderlichen Tempo mit seidigen doch gut phrasierten Tönen beider Violinen, mildem Ton der Bratsche und tiefem Ton des Violoncellos. Der zweite Satz klingt besonders schön und echt bezaubernd. Die intime und perfekt entsprechende Miteinanderwirkung zwischen den vier Virtuosen ist wahrlich beeindruckend. Zweifellos eine der zehn besten Interpretationen dieses Meisterwerks im 20. Jahrhundert!
