The 140mm uses the same blade design as Noctuas NF-A14 or shoud we say, the Thermalright TY series fans. So its seems that the top manufactures have agreed on the best blade design. Atila
Tried these ML140 series fans yesterday as an intake fan on my Corsair 750D and they are noticeably noisier than the Noctua's NF-A14's I've been using which I had previously used on a radiator. Needless to say I'm looking for some airflow/non-static pressure fans now. Today I tried some Fractal Venturi HF fans and I have to say they are sweet! They are just as quiet as the Noctuas, move more air and look great in all black. Will be ordering more for my other rig soon.
I was looking to upgrade my casefans, but couldn't decide which ones to get. Looks like now I have decided and will get 3 or 4 of these. Very nice review. It pretty much covered every part and answered all my questions that I was having about these fans. So thanks for your time with this amazing review :D
i wonder why no green LED version. Does Corsair know that nvidia themed builds are a thing?? Also for that price, i think they could have chucked in some RGB LED's
i've also seen ppl say they will purchase when they bring out a purple version (like the older fans), so im guessing there will be a few more colours at some point
would buy green ones as i normally do green and black builds, not nvidia themed just like the green n black combo, RGB would be nice but would push the price up further and would need some way to control which means either a dedicated fan controller or individual fan rgb controls which is a clunky solution
this is a good review, a lot of people been slagging them off because how loud they are. these people aren't setting custom fan curves to suit their needs surely. practically inaudible at idle for me, and set to a bearable db under load. for £22 for x2 fans (non led) im very happy.
Nice to see these ones being released, should mean the Corsair RGB ones shoudn't be far behind. I really want to replace my aging Xigmatek purple LED ones with ones of the same shade of purple, only much brighter and quieter, by selecting the exact colour I want from 16.7 million colours, while still having a decent balance between static pressure, noise and airflow, like these new Corsair mag-lev ones have. (There are other "purple" fans out there, only they tend to be pinkish purple, which I hate, rather than the much nicer blue tinted purple of my existing Xigmateks.)
I have bought cheap fans that were reasonnably quiet, at first, they got progressively louder with time. If these could keep quiet for their entire lifetime, they could be worth it, but that's quite difficult to test, and it's a big investment to find out for yourself. Also, don't like LEDs, the only light coming from my setup should be from the monitor. It's good that it comes in all black version, and it's cheaper, so I'm not paying for something I don't want.
Tom when you say they have less "motor noise" do you actually mean less bearing noise? As I understand it what's special about these fans is the bearing not the motor. An example of a fan that should have less motor noise would be upcoming Be Quiet Silent Wings 3, which has a 6 pole motor which is supposed to be quieter.
Can you please explain this to me? You know at 9:40 where you are saying the LEDs stay the same brightness beacuse of PWM no matter what the actual speed of the fan is. How come my old Thermaltake Contac 39 fans that had PWMs LEDs got dimmer and brighter to the fan speed? Also the same with the rear case fan I had which was a Enermax T.B. Vegas fan which had the strip of LEDs around it for the lighting effect, that was PWM, and the lights never came on until the fan got to higher speeds.
Thanks Tom! Definitely going to pickup 2 of the non-LED 140's to go in the front of my case and 3 RGB 140's to go in radiator and rear when they come out. So tired of my default case fans being the only things making noise in my PC!
I ordered a set of ML120 White's after a drink or two. Next day I woke up and said "I can't believe I spent $26 on fans". When they arrived I understood why. MAN these things are not just quiet, they are designed REALLY well. Corsair are really onto something, I have them on my 240 AIO and then 3 AF120's in blue and white for my case.
wait so its only maglev when it is powered? why not all the time with 2 sets of permanent magnets? i could see the the wear caused during spin up and spin down being a significant issue, what it needs to be is a passive maglev bearing in the center spindle, and then tip magnetic drive
How did you keep the leds bright even though you changed rpm? Ive plugged my ML140 into a 4 pin header on my motherboard yet when I changed my fan curve in AI Suite the leds gets less vibrant and at 400-500 rpm turns off the led off completely
How do these perform versus Be Quiet!'s new Silent Wings 3 fans? Could you tune them to the same levels of noise and show the difference in temperature, and then tune them to the same temperature and show the difference in noise generation, and compare the temperatures they achieve while still just being completely inaudible? I'm thinking of upgrading my Silent Wings 2 setup with either of these two and there aren't many resources online allowing for an actually informed decision yet.
ML120 pros are magnetic levitation so they a can run quieter & the pros obviously come with LED variants & the pros are PWM's so you can control fan speed.
where do I find the dual pack on the black bladed non led? all I find are the gray bladed one which I'd rather not buy. also the old sp120s came in a 4 pin pwm model
If you set these to stop on the PWM does the led stay lit. Thinking of getting the aquaero 6 and wanted to know if the system is heating up could these not come on until it hits a set point temp but the leds could still be on. Would look rubbish if all the lights come on all of a sudden.
Are compatible with the H100i fan control/power unit on the pump? By Compatible I mean has the 12 volt power ideal for the mag lev on the original H100i.
Being an ultra silent watercooler I'm really interested in the low noise and efficiency matter. And I also have to say I like very much the design, BUT I don't think I could stand those LEDs always turned on and the fact that rotor and blades are transparent. I would have loved to see a 120 blu or whatever colored model without LEDs, just lke the old blu ones but with new maglev rotor and new cage design. IMO. I actually have 9x SP120 Pwm quiet fans on my rads and I've been quite a "fan"
I wonder what should be the best case fan for a small case, im getting a nano to a jonsbo c2 case, thermalright ty143 is my best option but if there are better fan, please let me know.
How do you connect so many 4 pin connectors? Do you run them off your mobo if it offers that many, or is there a PWM hub on the back of the case that offers many more 4 pin connections? I'm putting together parts for a build and I really want to lace my case with these fans and going to do 4 120 and 2 140. Please let me know, I am stuck here :X
You can just get 4 pin fan splitters. It's just a Y cable that splits off the motherboard to power two fans. And they are super cheap if you get them from the right place. I got a bunch for under $2 CDN not too long ago.
It took me a while to get the "weird logo" reference when talking about the lights in the old fans. Looking at the front of my case made me release again (Corsair 760T standard fans)...
Those black and white fans would go perfect with my build. The thing is, those LED's. I have my own RGB lighting I just want the black and white fans. Any suggestions? The only one's i can thing of off the top are Corsair AF140's Even with those, i'd have to paint them white still.
I want to get a ML 120 for my CPU cooler (air cooled), because the original fan got very loud within the years. Compared with the AF and the SP it seems to be me that it should work good on that, don´t it?
For the price - would really have liked to see RGB - but they're slick. Early pricing has them here in the few places that have higher priced than the Noctua industrial range which makes them a bit hard to swallow.
i think i'd probably end up getting the white ones. That way if i also got RGB case lighting strips, any colour i'd pick would mix much nicer with the white fans
I love these fans. I use the PWM at 50%. Even at 50% they move a lot of air without creating that whoosing sound of air. The motor is extremely quiet. People say that these are loud and I think that what they are hearing is the air not the motor because these things when put above 50% move a lot of air.
is there a reason why after years of my maglev being set to exhaust it was fine, but today i switched it to intake and now it makes a whining noise at high temp speeds.... at the top of the case so it was upright now its upside down but it shouldnt matter right? why is this an issue now....
Hi, I Allready buyed two Ml120 Pro Led for my AIO liquid cooler, and somebody sayed to me, that fans requieres real 12v power to activate de magnetic levitation... How should I connect them to the motherboard so that the levitacion works for me? I allready use the 1st system fan (4-pin) with a splitter, to power the two fans of my 120mm liquid cooler. I want they working 100% all the time... or control the speed by using the gigabyte software...
posting before i watch the full video (yes yes, i know) but is it safe to run these magnetic fans near HDD/SDD, VRAMs etc and other PC components. perhaps my thinking is oversimplified but i know magnetism and PC components don't mix. i plan to run a couple on my front intakes (since the specs do seem to show pretty decent static pressure) so they will be smack dab next to my HDD and SSDs.

Lmao, I got these less than a week ago and I love how they changed the led set up. I hesitated getting the swastika version, waited a bit, and was extatic to see a new model had been created right before I was going to make my first pc build

Atila
22 minutes for a case fan review. Gotta love it
Noctuas must use black hole vodoo space levitation because they seem to last forever.
and be ridiculously quiet!
them, scythe and be quiet are smart by not using uniform fan blades. something which actually makes noise
Mine has been running for 5 years 24/7 it's insane.
Best in the world, the amount of R&D they do is insane, no one comes close.
Wish they'd invest in some aesthetic research too though...
if they weren't poop brown I'd get the meme fans in a heartbeat
Tried these ML140 series fans yesterday as an intake fan on my Corsair 750D and they are noticeably noisier than the Noctua's NF-A14's I've been using which I had previously used on a radiator. 22 mins vid for fans , wow love it.
He did it for the fans.
for fans for the fans
Im a big fan of the fans.
4:34 wow that fan is so loud! It really sounds like a car.
I was looking to upgrade my casefans, but couldn't decide which ones to get.
Looks like now I have decided and will get 3 or 4 of these.
Very nice review. It pretty much covered every part and answered all my questions that I was having about these fans.

I was also thinking that they need rgb instead of just single color only
they are too dumb to create a green led version
>having led fans in you pc lul
this is a good review, a lot of people been slagging them off because how loud they are. these people aren't setting custom fan curves to suit their needs surely. practically inaudible at idle for me, and set to a bearable db under load. for £22 for x2 fans (non led) im very happy.
I never thought I would watch a 20 minute fan review. PCMR what have you done to me.

Ooh I love my silent wings 2... I'll have to keep an eye out for these.
22min video about fans. Must be a TTL vid. lol
My thoughts exactly :D
Lol had same thought 😺
22 minute fan "REVIEW" that does not have actual benchmark numbers on noise and CFM. Useless.
You can also get the Enermax Marathon fan for $10 in US (120mm) which uses a magnetic bearing as well. (it is perceptibly silent on 12V Molex)
Haha, love it, 22mins for a fan review! Can't say you're thorough, keep up the good work TTL!
Can you please explain this to me? You know at 9:40 where you are saying the LEDs stay the same brightness beacuse of PWM no matter what the actual speed of the fan is. +matthew4mckeever different brand and different make, maybe?
Do you know whether it's possible to turn off the LEDs on the ML120 and ML140 Pro fans Tom?
Were the fans plugged into the two leads from the cooler?
I have 3x 120mm in the front, 3x 140mm in the top/back of my case and 2x 120mm on the cpu cooler.
Would be 215€ to upgrade to the LED ones...
Thanks Tom! Definitely going to pickup 2 of the non-LED 140's to go in the front of my case and 3 RGB 140's to go in radiator and rear when they come out. So tired of my default case fans being the only things making noise in my PC!

where you get the different color corner mounts?there not on there site
Can you turn off the LEDs whilst the fan is running?

What are the differences between the ML120 VS ML120 PRO?
ML120 pros are magnetic levitation so they a can run quieter & the pros obviously come with LED variants & the pros are PWM's so you can control fan speed.
colour and LED
Excellent video about ML fans ! I'm getting eight for my 780T 4 for my 24CM radiator push pull and other 3 for the front and 1 at the back of my case.
is it better to connect fans directly to the motherboard or connect them to the power source
where do I find the dual pack on the black bladed non led? all I find are the gray bladed one which I'd rather not buy. also the old sp120s came in a 4 pin pwm model

Great review! Wich RGB fan one do you prefer; LL140, ML140 or QL140?
I used to be a fan
Now I'm a magnetically levitating one
can the fan run on a 4 pin splitter?
Just got mine, to say these are quite is an understatement. Well worth the money
Are compatible with the H100i fan control/power unit on the pump? By Compatible I mean has the 12 volt power ideal for the mag lev on the original H100i.

I actually have 9x SP120 Pwm quiet fans on my rads and I've been quite a "fan"
Are they recommended to use with a 280 Radiator or are they bad for a Radiator?
so bettween 2x ml140 pro no led and the ml140 twin pack i should get the twin pack? only difference is rubber corner?
tom put them against the gentle typhoon then we will see if they're so fancy as they claim !!
Like the look of these fans. But need the moat silent fans for my music production PC build that I am working on. Would these fans do the job!!
Just picked up four of the white LED ones. Nice review man!
I wonder what should be the best case fan for a small case, im getting a nano to a jonsbo c2 case, thermalright ty143 is my best option but if there are better fan, please let me know.
@OC3D what software did you use to control the fans RPM?
I think Corsair has their own software. But like many other softwares it's quite buggy.
Do the Corsair ML140 PRO LED Fans come in the RGB ?
I'm waiting for the ML 140 Pro RGBs as well.
Heey buddy, I'm in the same position you were in 6 months ago, what have you ended up doing?
You can just get 4 pin fan splitters. It's just a Y cable that splits off the motherboard to power two fans. And they are super cheap if you get them from the right place. I got a bunch for under $2 CDN not too long ago.
i have the 8 ML140 black fans in my thermaltake tower 900 and two extras to a friend in his/my old corsair 750D case.
over $400 and i dont regret it
It took me a while to get the "weird logo" reference when talking about the lights in the old fans. Looking at the front of my case made me release again (Corsair 760T standard fans)...
What speed would you recommend
Hi Tom, any inside info if/when Corsair would launch ML RGBs?
Id imagine they wont be cheap atm. So Im not sure
Those black and white fans would go perfect with my build. The thing is, those LED's. I have my own RGB lighting I just want the black and white fans. Any suggestions? The only one's i can thing of off the top are Corsair AF140's Even with those, i'd have to paint them white still.
Would like to see an update on this video using the Be Quiet Silent Wing 3 fans and Noctua.
what software do you use to control the speed of your fans ?
Is there any software for these fans? where you can control the lights on/off if you want?
Usually you can set all the pwm fan speed settings in the BIOS of your motherboard. If not, the motherboard manufacturer will have software for it.
can you please link to or review some pwm fan controllers?
Corsair has one www.corsair.com/en/corsair-commander-mini
I want to get a ML 120 for my CPU cooler (air cooled), because the original fan got very loud within the years. Compared with the AF and the SP it seems to be me that it should work good on that, don´t it?
When you compare specs at least match the formatting on both...
I love the new led setup (even though I don't use led fans anymore) no more nazi fans!
For the price - would really have liked to see RGB - but they're slick. Early pricing has them here in the few places that have higher priced than the Noctua industrial range which makes them a bit hard to swallow.
i think i'd probably end up getting the white ones. That way if i also got RGB case lighting strips, any colour i'd pick would mix much nicer with the white fans
i want to swap the 212 evo stock fan with a ml and i don.t know if it is better this way or if to keep the stock one...pls help me
I love these fans. I use the PWM at 50%. Even at 50% they move a lot of air without creating that whoosing sound of air. The motor is extremely quiet. People say that these are loud and I think that what they are hearing is the air not the motor because these things when put above 50% move a lot of air.
whats the difference between the 120 and 140 aside from the dimensions
Are they comparable to the silent wings 3?
I love this channel, 22 min review of some fans :D
21:51 Hail Maglev ?
is there a reason why after years of my maglev being set to exhaust it was fine, but today i switched it to intake and now it makes a whining noise at high temp speeds.... at the top of the case so it was upright now its upside down but it shouldnt matter right? why is this an issue now....
They should make Green & Yellow led versions as well.
That said, I'm just going to stick with my Noctua nf-f12's
how well will mag lev work long term when used upside-down
Have you done a review on the latest Corsair ML 140mm Pro RGB? I just bought three and they are loud as hell from 850rpm.
is there a programm to install to get the Fan faster and slower ?
Probably comes with your motherboard :)
and otherwise you can still use Corsair Link as far as I know at least for Corsair fans
i might consider procuring the white fans. I'm going for a "cool blue" / "arctic" look for my pc
I got 2x Noctua NF-A14 IPPC-2000 on my H110 rad, but I must admit that the LED's are tempting.
how do they compare to the noctua nf-f12a
So where do I plug theser fans into? and if I have to buy a fan controller please link me one compatable with these fans
Nobody building a high end rig is gonna bat an eye at the fans prices.
Phillip Mulligan, The way I see it, if it’s cheaper than the GPU then it’s worth it.
what way are you controlling the rpm's
finally some corsair 140mm without leds!
I wanted some plain sp140's for a while, and these will for sure work.
Abdiel Ortiz Pwm always provides the necessary 12v to the fans as far as i know
is there also an rgb version comming?
Would you recommend them over Noctuas?
what about working with corsair link??
Better than Silverstone AP series? Gentle Typhoons?
next innovation in fans: controllable rgb fans!
Soon......
Get your wallet ready then
they will be bloody expensive i think
When corsair or another fan maker sees this, thinks this is a good idea and develops them
you can get thermaltake riing fans
posting before i watch the full video (yes yes, i know) but is it safe to run these magnetic fans near HDD/SDD, VRAMs etc and other PC components. perhaps my thinking is oversimplified but i know magnetism and PC components don't mix. i plan to run a couple on my front intakes (since the specs do seem to show pretty decent static pressure) so they will be smack dab next to my HDD and SSDs.
ima stick with my thermaltake riing fans cause the fans that my corsair case had the same fan blade design and they hardly pull air though the dust filter.
what program do you use for controlling the amount of rpm?
Did you find the program to control them?
Corsair ML140 VS Corsair ML140 Pro... are both with Magnetic Levitation ? I'm interesting for the non Pro to know. Thanks.
Girlfriend loves the white fans! Myself going with the blue for my blue/white rig! Great fans honestly
Tom, please. PG348Q or PG279Q?
I love these fans soooo much x3 thank you for this review, super informative
Question will this work with my h100i gtx replacing stock fans?
nvm
i want to see a comparison between these, the vardars, noctua nff12 nfa14, venturis would be really interesting
Thoose fans RPM can controllable with Corsair H100i v2 from corsair link app ?
Yes :)
need a static pressure fan to replace fan on an evo 212 heatsink. guess dual pack will fit the bill
Lmao, I got these less than a week ago and I love how they changed the led set up. I hesitated getting the swastika version, waited a bit, and was extatic to see a new model had been created right before I was going to make my first pc build
ive google pwm and havent found out a thing how do you turn it on via downloadable software ?
Did you ever find it?
this is super awesome where can i get these?
No green LED models?
corsair released some RGB fans when they showed these i would prefer RGB and ML but i hope they release the 2 in 1 by this time next year
