Thank you, but I would like that illustrator had a selecting tool and a moving tool separated from each other, just like 3d modeling (like 3ds max) I`m beginner, and I think that isolation mode can help me to solve these selecting problems do I think right?
I don't think it would work the same. 3D programs have those separated for good reason, but in Illustrator, I think it would be annoying. Isolation mode will help you only work on whatever you've selected in it. Direct selection tool, hotkey A, will also do this without entering Isolation mode. I use both. It depends on the situation and which one is faster.
So I can't seem to just drag the mouse over objects to select them. When I left click and hold, it just moves the closest object. Is there a setting I need to change? Trying to learn this program but the selection tool is giving me fits.
@@CaryHawkins A lot of times these tutorials are part of our workflow. We just need that one thing. It's why we type those specific keywords. I had to sit through a whole lot of talking before you actually got to the meat of what I came here for. No offense.
I am trying to change the colour of the dots above the eyes, but just cannot work out how to do it, as the direct selection tools picks up all the text, any advice Please?
Convert the text to outlines and then select the i. Right click and release compound path (or something like that). Then you can move the dot freely, color it as you see fit, etc. Or you can just cover it with your own dot.
thanks
Thank you so much, this really helped me.
Happy to hear it!
Thank you Boss for your nice tutorial.
Thanks for taking time to give me feedback!

Check your preferences under edit > preferences > selection & anchor display. Your tolerance might be too high.
I have a problem with the regular selection tool, can't select object if you're notselecting the points. Please help, my version is cs6
I don't think I've had that issue before. Maybe check preferences or settings somewhere. Is it with every object or only some?
@@CaryHawkins with every object sir. it's very hustle. any specific solution about this problem.
I have other problem to, curving the angle of the square. the curve option in every angle do not show when i click the square.
I think CS6 doesn't have that option. I'm not sure about the other issue. I've not used CS6 in a long time.
Time stamps please.
Would you please??? 😁

None taken. I appreciate the input.
The entire logo gets selected. Impossible to select a specific area. Why please ?
Your logo is grouped perhaps?
@@CaryHawkins I did double click like you suggested, but nothing happens. Strange, isn't it ?
It can be several layers of groupings. You might see how far you can double click.
I guess you forgot to show the Wand Tool options.
Nice video unsubscribed and unliked 👍
