Plane spotter most of my life and never seen this type of reaction before, travelled to many different airports in other countries to spot and never had bother, our airports police in Scotland actually like plane spotters as we are an extra pair of eyes for them!
The problem isn't the plane spotters, it's the people who make videos of the security measures (and therefore allow people to devise ways of circumventing them for nefarious purposes by broadcasting them on RUclips to the whole international terrorist and criminal networks in foreign Countries) that are the problem. I bet the Iranian IGRC, North Korea RGB, and the Russian FSB love watching RUclips Channels like this - it saves them all the trouble of sending their agents to the UK for reconnaissance.

The pilots and owners of planes positively WELCOME enthusiasts/spotters or indeed anyone with an interest in flight. There's a cordoned off area near the runways, so anyone who wants to photograph, film, note numbers etc, can do so in safety and with ease....Thankfully, this side of the Irish Sea we still employ common sense! 😂
But Oxford City Airport is used occasionally by Royalty and Celebrities, and serving Forces personnel, who are p****** by being 'papped by press photographers all day long. Taking videos of them using their chartered planes is not going to make you popular. How would you like it if every time you left the house you were pursued by someone taking photographs of you, even when you went for a poop.

If this bloke had the common courtesy to report to the reception building and ask permission to film first, people wouldn't think he was a criminal up to no good. If you're just going to wander around like you're casing the joint for a break-in, don't be surprised if someone challenges you and asks you for an explanation of your (frankly suspicious) behaviour. Even genuine terrorists will protest their innocence, but it proves nothing. If you co-operate with security, they'll usually co-operate with you. Write in advance and ask permission to visit, and they might just invite you in for a guided tour. Instead you've spent half the video recording serving RAF personnel on their days off doing a bit of flight training / leisure flying practice.

What a load of coblers I have been plane spotting and taking pictures for about 50 years and have never been told not to take pictures. So if the owners of the aircraft don't want their aircraft filmed what happens when they fly to another airport and the photographers are shooting away? do the pilots get out and tell them to clear off? with my experience and I have worked on aircraft pilot/owners don't worry about their aircraft being filmed. Karen must have had a bad night.

If they don't want people filming/photographing beyond the fence, then maybe they should think about getting a fence that is not seethrough.
