- What is going on everybody, this is TGA, and in today's video, we're at the Harwell Science Campus, in Oxfordshire, home to the European Space Agency, Magnox Harwell Nuclear Site, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Diamond Light Source (The UK's Small Hadron Collider), The UK Health Security Agency (part of PHE), RAL Space, and many other Space, Technology, Science, and Nuclear facilities. We have a nice chat with a friendly Sergeant and his colleague, from the Civil Nuclear Constabulary, who give us a bit of information.

I use to live in the part of Chilton next to the campus and the CNC officers are always friendly and super helpful, Having them nearby is nice in my opinion.

Lol, this issue was raised with the CNC, they amount of body armour etc that they carry, that older officers can’t manage it

They are poorly trained, minimum wage, lack experience and aren’t too bright. Not really their fault. Blame the employers.
@@judithmatthews8460 The CNC actually set the standard for firearms training in the UK so "poorly trained" im not sure where that ones came from but i'd say its not right

@@TFU774 Thank you TFU774.Judith is very ill informed and has based her comment on supposition.So she appears to be the one who is 'not too bright'.I was a CNC officer and I can assure you and her that the people in the video certainly do not lack experience or training.I know ,because I used to work with one of them when I was an officer at Harwell.
I did my apprenticeship there in the late 1980's & the whole place was constantly patrolled by armed cops in Landrovers & at every gate. Was around 8000 workers on site then.

Those officers r so fittttt. I want the quiet 1 to use me like an electric floor polisher. I want to see my sweaty face reflected in the other officers sunglasses as he tells me facts about old RAF bases.

At 14:08 - These two officers as so encumbered with equipment attached to their uniforms that neither one could run down a real evildoer if he bolted on foot. Add to that, neither looks particularly physically fit enough to chase anyone down.
Sometimes big lads can be deceptive on just how fit and fast they are .
Look at the big Rugby players .
And if you are old enough to remember Geoff Capes shot putter, huge lad , but his sprint times were impressive .

It was a good interaction with the Police but, waiting, waiting, waiting, near the end the sergeant asked for his name, so they can put it on there report. They just can't help themselves
That's literally their job.
Why is it necessary to have a separate cop organisation?
Because they want people they can train, and who do not have bad habits picked up from other Police. Regardless of that, they all look ridiculous with all that garbage hanging off them.

When all the "private " police forces were regularised by the home office the CNC and MOD were well put out. They thought they would be receiving the same rate of pay as civil police forces. Sadly no they receive about a fifth less with a poorer pension provision.
Wrong. Cnc got parity and pay far less into their pension so come out with more. Add to that the ot both cnc and mdp dish out.
