I have a head cannon. So before all the loaned engines came along, it was only Thomas and Edward. The NWR asked the workshop that Percy came from to build his saddle tank. What came out exactly suited their needs. Then topham realized he could just loan a bunch of engines for much cheaper. So Percy just kind of… sat in the workshop until someone loaned him. A railway on the great western trial him, but wasn’t happy with his overall performance. So we went back to the workshop. This happened about seven times. Then, years later, the fat controller remembered the engine that he commissioned from the workshop, and swiftly bought him for cheap. He didn’t need to have a bunker added at Crovan’s Gate, as he was specially made for the railway. Where he was built? Technically, Avonside, but not.
2:43 funny they say that as they’re weird engines themselves, thomas is much shorter in size compared to his class, james’ has a single set of bogey wheels which his class never really had, gordon’s boiler doesn’t have a slope and duck has those dumb sand boxes on his front.
Yeah, that's how I'll probably have it. Minus the Sudrian smokebox. Or should I keep it? I just know that I'll have Percy be built/assembled by the same guy that sold/built a lot of engines for Topham. Henry and Emily being some of them. Henry sold, and Emily built and sold.
He was assembled in Avonside as an experiment, Then after he was deemed unsuccessful, Sent to the mainland, Overhauled and repainted green then sold to sir topham hat *Edit:* The longer full detailed story including his original name number and so on.. is on the pic page
Theory: this is sort of a reference and inspired to The Mr. Arkwright clips from Team Up With Thomas. Because of this video and the clips from the DVD, it’s said that Percy has a boiler like James (which Red boiler came from LMS) but with Thomas not the same part (TUWT cab but this vid chassis). This is just a theory. It’s possibly just a coincidence.
I've done some research. Percy is from the GWR because he's based on the 4-0-4 Saddle Tanks which originated from the GWR. You can even search it up on the internet.
Percy is a GWR Avonside 0-4-0ST, which was also called a GWR No. 1340 Trojan. He would've been built at the Avonside Engine Company at Bristol, England in 1897.
*HOLD IT!* Actually, the recent Awdry Extravaganza revealed Awdry’s Percy Mk1 model is the definitive, “proper” Percy. Not only is this from The Railway Series writer himself… *But this also legitimizes that Swindon is where Percy was built!* So out of the arguments listed… Montague! *Your argument has been proved valid!*
Wow Tho my god Percy is a mix of everything . And that’s just funny . The guy is from everywhere And I now know how to make an real Percy now . Boom now my fellow people . We will make awdery proud and make the true real Percy from this info . WE MUST ither that or we modify a peket saddle tank with a bunker or something
What if Percy was a private engine at work shop he lived at or his builder was making an engine with his friend and it happened all those parts would lead to him being alive an who he is
We found out that he was actually built in the local Walmart parking lot
Now that explains it wonderfully!
@TankEngineTim XDDDD
What is the song at the beginning?
Lmao
That explains it
Percy sounds like Frankenstein's monster. And like the monster, he's actually nice. Good work.
Its the green trolli worm himself
yup. Percy is a kitbash made from bits of other kitbashes
Four square companies makes a round caterpillar engine
Hey Vick
That’s what I’ve been thinking.
Technically he was built in all 5 railways. He is just a mash of spare parts left lying around.
I have a head cannon.

Percy is Percy. Nuff said.
Indeed
Fun fact: his sandboxes were reused from a Mc Donalds deep fryer
Wait what
@@ryandhisfriends5571 It's true
Lol
WHAT
@@Lorenzo_the_brazilian_loco That is the lore
I was expecting Percy to be built by parts from all of the Big Four. Makes it interesting and at the same time fascinating.
I think of him as a scratch build model meant for industrial railways.
fun fact: his valve gear was made from a frame of galvanized square stee-
Percy is a mix mash of spare engine parts, There I said it.
“There I said it” headass.
So, the Sodor Workshops built him, using engine parts from different Railways! Percy is so bizzare, even more than Henry.
Henry was built from stolen plans that Sir Nigel Gresley thrown away, while Percy is a mix of different parts from different companies
I love this so much! The fact you made it without a script makes it even more impressive!
Thanks!!
I mainly didn’t write a script because I usually procrastinate when doing so, and then it would’ve taken months to get it done
Percy’s built from a workshop’s owner’s cousin’s friend’s pet’s son from Canada that speaks Chinese living on NWR metals.
What?😅
Percy: Ain’t no thing like me, except me!
This explains why there isn't a real life basis of Percy!
Fun fact: His whistle is reused from a nerf dart.
Percys like a chimera engine. A mix of many railway company parts but he's not from any specific rail company 😂
For me, Percy is a one off built at Crovan's Gate Works, mainly based off Trojan from the GWR, but with several modifications.
Some People Said He's A Hybrid
But Maybe He's A Prototype

plot twist:lady summoned percy out of thin air
TTOS?
THIS IS SUCH A FUNNY VIDEO.
I really love it. Thanks for blessing all of us with this.
I've seen from both NWR Origins 2 and Liz's Journey that Percy is Avonside built.
Exactly!
That's fan interpretation
Yeah, but that doesn’t apply to everyone’s content.
2:20 Topham really doesn’t know how to measure things
he was probably built from spare parts. He is like a hybrid saddle tank thingy
You tricked me to thinking that this was going to be analyzing video 😭
Your not alone
who’s to say percy isn’t just a complete custom build?
He was assembled in Avonside as an experiment, Then after he was deemed unsuccessful, Sent to the mainland, Overhauled and repainted green then sold to sir topham hat
*Edit:* The longer full detailed story including his original name number and so on.. is on the pic page
This was an amazing video!
In my AU, he's a rebuilt Pug built in 1935
Percy is uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, a caterpillar

Hey!
Atleast Percy is happey for being a green cattepillar with red stripes
They forgot to ask one question, where was Percy's workshop located at?
the balls. 🖐🤯🤚
0:08 James is from the Lancashire and Yorkshire railway
Yeah James is a LMS
Yeah, which was absorbed into the LMS.
Well I'm satisfied with that answer 😂. Excellent video
I've done some research. Percy is from the GWR because he's based on the 4-0-4 Saddle Tanks which originated from the GWR. You can even search it up on the internet.
This is good. Be nice to see more.

I thought duck an Gordon have put this to rest now it’s back to it but this time James an Thomas have joined the debate

Percy must have a ginormous smokebox then
Percy came from the GWR
Now I have to Google where is Percy from damnit.
Percy doing his own thing
Well Percy's basis is unknown but the closest one is Trojan from GWR but he doesn't have a bunker so maybe he's been rebuilt by his previous owners???
Percy is an GWR trojan
I know he worked very hard on the midland Scottish London railway also known as LMS.
Percy was built in 1900 by the Avonside Engine Company for the GWR
Fun fact his siderods are old chopsticks
Percy is GWR he was built by avonside engine company which the GWR owned during the 1920’s grouping act of the Big 4
Fun fact: in a great race promo he was confirmed to be avonside built
And Percy’s brakes were made out of the McDonald’s ice cream machine which is why he always crashes
Percy came from a caterpillar, who is his mom
Percy’s bufferbeam was actually from a Penn Central diesels scrap metal
So Percy was built all over the place?? Alright then
I like to think Percy was built at Hunslet
Percy is from the GWR
that mean percy is a custom build
I have Percy as Stephenson and Co. Saddle Tank design.
I thought he is a gwr built sattle tank? Like the boiler the firebox but the southern chassis
So Percy’s from everywhere lol
So, Percy's a hodge-podge build of different railways, eh? Isn't that interesting?
Fun fact: percy was based from an gwr engine. He might be a gwr enhine?
The talking sort of reminds me of Gordon Goes Foreign
I actually thought you were doing an analysis 😭
So did i
So pretty much he was a hybrid
Guys, it's obvious Percy's obviously from Heaven! Why else is he so angelically adorable!? 🥰
No idea where he's from.
Takes 1 to know one 😅
Wow

ngl i used to think percy was gwr since he looks like a trojan.
He doesn't look like Trojan at all there cabs are completely different
look at his boiler in the rws illustrations.
Percys made of parts from Baldwin Alco North British Lima St rollocks Hunslet Neilson Doncaster Crewe Darlington

Can we adapt it?
No
@@TankEngineTim why not?

No
@@TankEngineTim ok
Percy from britsol
Allow me to solve this.
