And that bank vault sound as the doors close speaks of quality engineering every time. I'm not sure about in the US but Mercedes Benz cars were very highly respected in Australia right up until the quality fell away in the '90s. After I got my licence I was given the opportunity to drive one of my grandfather's Mercedes. Even though it had a six cylinder engine it still wasn't exactly exciting to drive. However, I'd give my eye tooth to own it today.
