Preorder already! Just became a dad 😊 over the weekend and I wanted to bring my family videos to the next level. I also need to buy a stand to take a ton of videos and selfies in the new adventures to come and this has it all. Can’t wait to have it and start playing with it.

Thanks for reviewing this! I’ve been looking for a good portable option. I typically carry a selfie stick and separate tripod when I travel so this is definitely a better option. Sorry about the break in to your car, such a bummer, but glad you guys were ok!

It's unfortunately very common in Hawaii. The rental car company told me to not leave any valuables in the car and to just leave the doors unlocked so thieves can rummage through. Otherwise they'll just smash out the window of random cars. I saw quite a few near hiking destinations. Locals told me the same thing.
I remember when you reviewed the Osmo 4, and your review made me buy it almost immediately. Then I watched this review of yours the other day and yep, I fell for it again and upgraded my 4 to the 5 hahaha. One of the best gimbals for cell phones in the game. Thanks for this video.

Was searching for OM5 and came across your video/channel, loving the positive energy in the video, feels not sketched, just natural =)
I would like to see if they have fixed the two main issues with OM4. 1) Handling the large phone with their case on. The grip was too narrow on OM4. 2) Android phones compatibility in DJI app. OM4 wouldn't allow 4k 60p recording.
Omo 4 allows shooting 4k 60fps in mimo app. Tested on iphone☹️
The new grip opens wider and you were able to shoot in 4k/60 on the OM 4 (at least on iPhone). My only gripe is the big decrease in battery life on the OM 5. I'm strongly considering keeping the OM 4 I bought two weeks ago because of that and just buying the larger phone clamp separately.
i never heard the om4 grip was narrow. your hands must be very big. and the app never gave 4k 60fps on android, if you want 4k 60 just use your phone camera app. most phone camera apps actually have better image quality anyway than the dji app.
@@truthseeker6804 So we can use the main camera app even when mounted in Dji OM5? because i will be using Android and i am fully aware it has no 30fps or whatsoever when you use unlisted android phones.
For now I will be using Poco F3 but all i want is to use the Stabilizer of the Dji for the meantime while planning to buy flagship phones.
Next week i will receive my Om5, so thank you if you are going to give me heads up.
@@kelskysapal2203 you can use your main camera app with any gimbal. but you cant press record on the gimbal, you have to tap record on your phone screen, and its not a big deal. i always use my phone camera app because most phone camera apps are better than the gimbal apps. the dji gimbal app, gives the motion lapse where the gimbal moves as it takes timelapse. in my opinion, just get the gimbal, you can do basic stuff with the gimbal, without the app. im sure the app would work with your phone although not listed. it worked with my galaxy a51. btw i use om3, but all dji gimbal use same app. om3 was the best gimbal because it could handle heavy weight. om4 and om5 magnetic system are cool, but not good for heavy phones.

That one looks great. I have another brand but this affordable gimbal tech has really helped people make smooth and stable videos all the way down to beginner levels of content creation.

Are there any issues using an iPhone Plus size? I have the DJI OM4 and it seems that at times it struggles with larger sized iPhones.

The DJI Gimbal is so cool!
I am really amazed at DJI because they can still figure it out on how they should upgrade their product; I mean, who would've thought that DJI would put that feature (like a selfie stick) on a basically Osmo 4? hahahhaha it really amazes me that they can still give their customers an upgrade that is worth it and not just a gimmick. Good job DJI.

Does the OM5 have the same sort of magnetic ring attachment as the OM4 or is it just the clamp. I always have trouble with getting the phone straight with my OM3 and was just thinking about upgrading. If I’m going to upgrade I want it to be straight every time

You should change your camera settings to shoot in 4K. I recently did this and have noticed a dramatic improvement in how the iPhone shoots photos and videos.
I used to always wonder why apples stock photos they’d take were so much better than the ones I’d take (despite the photoshopping) and I think it’s because I wasn’t utilising my camera to its fullest potential :)

Which settings have you used for the clips on Hawaii with the iPhone? It looks like very poor quality with only 30fps (might be because the video is only 30...) - not sure if you've messed anything up or what's the case?

I wonder if they fixed the panorama option as the photo is really low resolution. Also it would be interesting to see if they updated the app to take full advantage of the camera’s capabilities from the iPhone 12 or the Huawei P40 Pro, as current version is not able to use all capabilities of the cameras on those two phones.
I ordered this gimbal last night on best buy and picked it up this morning. It’s going back to best buy tomorrow. Barely, I mean barely fits iPhone 13 pro max. Auto calibration would leave the phone just ever so slightly crooked

Does the DJI app support 4K Dolby vision? By using the stock camera app, would the OIS and gimbal stabilization interfere with each other?

Funny story: I got myself a DJI om 5 for Christmas and taken it out to the pit when I went out 8 days after I got it. I left it in the pub and I had it for 8 days. I'm looking for some cheaper alternatives ,like the smooth X, because I'll probably leave it somewhere again.
Would it still be worth it to buy it should I wait for the 6?
