Weathering Model Railway | Weather Wagons Using Only 2 Paints

- In this video we weather a model railway wagon from Mainline using only 2 color paints. The paints can be mixed and thinned to achieve various shades and effects.
This technique will give you an effective weathering finish in your rolling stock in a very short time. We shot the entire video in under an hour, and that included stopping for a coffee and stripping down the airbrush when it clogged up.

Your expert weathering really brings out all the molded details on this wagon, man. Mainline really made fantastic quality rolling stock for the time which still holds up by today's standards, in my opinion. :)
Mainline wagons are great value. And the original moulds were used for Bachmann wagons too. Wouldn’t be surprised if they still use some of them. Thanks for watching again 👍🏼

@@BuntersYardThanks when watching the video I see you got good results with the air brush. I have just bought one and tried using it after thinning down the paint and varnish I used but even spraying lightly I got a bubbly uneven effect.
How do you manage to get a good finish?

I don’t have an airbrush set up as I’m not confident enough to use one lol 😆 But after watching your videos I’m sure I’ll get one and have a go as your tutorials really help. I’m going to my local model shop the Locoshed in Manchester when the lockdown ends as Jim has a scrap bin of old stock that I could practice on.
