Our guest today, Major General G. D. Bakshi, is a retired Indian Army officer. He served in Jammu & Kashmir Rifles. He subsequently commanded the Romeo Force (Part of elite Rashtriya Rifles) during intensive counter-insurgency operations in the Rajouri-Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir and succeeded in suppressing the armed militancy in this area. He served in the Army from 1971 - 2008. He has been awarded several medals for his distinguished service in the Indian Army.
Author of several well-researched books on military strategy, he is best known for his forceful articulation of the national interest on prime time news on several channels. His new book "The Quantum Book of Soma: Reinterpreting the Wisdom of the Vedas" has been appreciated immensely and includes over 50 years of research and insight.
Grim times for the nation as we mourn the loss of General Bipin Rawat and the other 12 very dependable army officers in the recent fatal helicopter crash. Major General G.D. Bakshi & I got a chance to discuss Chief - Gen. Bipin Rawat and salute the courage shown by him all through the years of serving in the Indian army.

The country mourned the death of such a dynamic personality.. I personally how difficult it is to challenge the system and dastoor.. He did those things at such a big level.. CDS Gen Rawat you have my honour.. feels like a personal loss to every patriot.. At such a difficult time.. we have been never worried because deep inside our heart every one knew that we are in safe hands.. RIP sir, you played your part very well 🙏💐
I'm from Assam and I'm a NDA aspirant,as a defence aspirant i had a dream to meet general bipin rawat sir but this tragedy happened,I hope he is in peace with his wife late madhulika mam❤️ and also those who lost lives in the helicopter tragedy
Such a dashing personality my god. I personally felt very bad on hearing the tragedy. He was a true Hero.
Uttrakhand and Himachal Pradesh are two such states who give quality over quantity.
They have been quality + Quantity past 20 yrs.
Exactly my brother there is no doubt when it comes to quantity northern states brings more efficiency but when it comes to quality Uttrakhand and Himachal pradesh are two bright States who never failed over well qualified officers

The Indian Air Force should start having a backup helicopter with medical emergency team and equipments following the main helicopter carrying important/high ranking officers of armed forces... timely action would save precious lives..

Whether China is involved or not ,one thing is certain . China had the biggest vested interest in seeing Gen Rawat go away. Right from Doklam to Ladakh it was Gen Rawat who scripted India's new and bold / muscular response to China. Gen Rawat ended Nehruvian legacy of capitulating to Chinese aggressive moves much to China's discomfiture .

One correction . His grandfather was also in army . 3rd gen
General Bipin Rawat Uniform is very huge to stick too, I guess CDS needs more time and direct recruitment style moving from 3 branches isnt enough at all for the 4 th branch. Also the change of Regiment from Regular Army or any other service to CDS is not possible since the loyalty to their own regiment is at risk. So does NDA having only 3 branches is not enough along with OTA. So they cant move to CDS directly the cap needs to serve its personal directly.
