I don’t have social media on my phone… I get on Facebook OCCASIONALLY. I get sucked into the vortex when I do go on there so very sparingly. RUclips is for worship music, playing scriptures while we sleep, preaching/teaching/content or home repairs, lol. BUT I am on RUclips way too much. I need a digital fast so I can hear the Father’s voice for myself, not constantly someone else’s revelation.

I did a one month thing where I only allowed myself one hour on it and no more. That did work well but once it was over I went back to my bad habits. Truly I am convinced that it is a good thing when it brings conviction to me. My church held a "21 days of prayer and fasting" in January. I fasted all media for the sake of general entertainment (along with a few meals), and focused on Bible study and theological topics, and also went through The Awe of God audiobook. I experienced a kind of awakening in my spirit during that period. During and since then, I've realized how much entertainment has become a de-facto idol that's always right in front of our faces and blocking off the stillness of a focused life of prayer, and keeping us from perceiving God's direction in our spirits. I've also come to recognize the health of my spirit is directly connected with sensing the presence of the Holy Spirit throughout the day.
I also did this with my church twice, starting in January year before last and then again in Nov and accompanied that with some food fasting but the initial one was strictly staying off Facebook and RUclips and it definitely was a huge renewal in my walk with God!! 💛
Negative mind. Whatever is hard for you to refrain from for the Lord and Pray..it shows the Lord your heart. You can tell your a judgemental person. The Lord knows a person's heart. And our words reveal our heart.
Amen. I've been on an Instagram fast for almost 60 days now; it's the only social media platform I use other than RUclips. It's cleansing me of jealousy and comparison. All praise to God and His Holy Spirit as they led me to the fast.

I deleted all of my social media accounts over 3 years ago after a crisis in my marriage and I realized that it was going to destroy me. I had my Facebook account for 15 years. It was the best decision I ever made. I felt so free and was no longer feeling any fomo. I use all that extra time to really be present with my children. The only exception is RUclips but I only use it to watch sermons, worship videos and Christian-based podcasts.
My church, grace Bible in Virginia Beach and Norfolk just started this! It’s hard because I am military and the first week I failed miserably, but once I turned my phone into a “dumb” phone it’s helped tremendously!
I spend several hours listening and watching teachings and sermons. At work I talk for a living so I socialize but I do scroll a lot between customers. Since I work on commission only I don’t have to busy myself. Now my feed is going to have a lot of good stuff in it but I do see temptations and I do feel my attention span getting sucked away. I need to do this fast. I know I do.

In the early 2000's, when all my friends were getting into the newest phone technology, I had a flip phone. I didn't care about the new phones that came out every few years, and I still don't. They always felt like a distraction, and I never liked that. Aside from listening to YT vids at work, I still spend less than 1 hour on my phone per day. Anything I need to do online can wait until I get home. I spend a fair amount of time with online gaming after work, but that's a slightly different topic, and one I'm working toward addressing. I'm glad that I never got sucked into the whole social media distraction. That's saved me from the stress my peers constantly deal with. I remember the days before cell phones and the internet, and they were simpler times.
Scrolling social media and so forth can actually be considered idolatry if it takes up a spot that was meant for God. I believe that idolatry is the number 1 sin in todays world, because the flesh wants to worship creation instead of the creator.
I started fasting again year before last with doing a social media fast from Facebook and RUclips when my church was doing a 21 day fast and then again in November along with food fasting. But the original one with just fasting social media, it reawakened my relationship with God and prayer life so immensely!!! 💛💛💛 Every time i would have checked into Facebook or wasted time on my phone, i would spend in scripture, praying or talking with God! And on top it of it, it was amazing how much more I would get accomplished in the day outside of work!!
I'm a computer nerd, but I'm 48 years old. So I didn't grow up with these devices. I only had a plain old computer. I avoided the doom scrolling until about 3-4 months ago. Once you start, man, it's easy to do it again, and again, and again, and again, day after day. Just a few days ago I mostly stopped, but still do a little here and there. But yeah, really ought to just turf this stuff.

BUT I NOTICED THAT MY SPIRITUAL LIFE HAS CHANGED BC NOW I MORE HAPPIER AND SPEND MORE PHYSICAL TIME WITH MY FAMILY AND WITH THE LORD IN A WAY THAT MY MIND IS JUST FOR THEM AND IT FEELS SO GOOD. My husband is not realizing thay he has replaced our relationship and the relationship with our daughter and family with his phone. He is always in his phone even the bible if he wants to read it he prefer to use his phone. He is always screwing down on youtube and not realizing that his life is been control by a his phone. If he is not in his phone he gets mad and will go to sleep but he doesn’t admit.

I really enjoyed this. I agree... fasting is something that we don't do enough of in the church. This year the Holy Spirit has challenged me to fast every other month. I've chosen to do a digital fast: IG, FB and YT shorts. It's been interesting to see how fasting them has changed my desire for/attachment to them. It has also made space for new things in my life. Another thing I tried that worked good after taking all the garbage off my phone, I prayed to God I asked him to take the wheel on my phone and asked him to keep his protection on my phone. I ha e Facebook and the only time I'm on it is if I'm putting a sermon video or a Bible veres on it. Infact I rarely get on utube and if I'm on it it's watching stuff pertaining to God. Sermons or How to pray the Rosary videos and I read the Bible almost every day now. And I have the Chosen app. Pray for God to keep junk from poping up on my screen and the rest I can do with self control now.
Wow, I just started on a year long fast from social media, tv, and RUclips: I can use RUclips only for certain things here and there. I believe this is further confirmation that I heard correctly.
I had to unfollow 900 people, curate my entire social media and only post about the gospel. Create videos about my love and walk with Christ. The one thing the Holy Spirit taught me was to drop or turn off my phones when in the presence of others, at church and when in his presence. That had helped tremendously. I fast social media from time to time
I had a dream a few mornings before this came out. In the dream I had walked up a hill, at the top was a garage door. I was told to open the door. On the other side, there was a lion. People were lining up to walk past the lion. I heard the words "The Lion of Judah". I wanted to take a photo, so I took out my phone. Suddenly a whole lot of adverts came onto the phone, making a lot of noise. I quickly went around a corner to quieten the phone. I was surrounded by dogs sniffing all around me. When I couldn't stop the phone and manage the dogs I put it away saying that I didn't need a photo. I went back out and the Lion was gone. Instead I was bring charged by a rhino. I had to run and hide, and just wait. I knew I'd be rescued, but that it was going to take a while. I believe this was a warning and an end-time prophesy. People will miss their opportunity to meet with the Lord because the world's idols have stolen our worship. This podcast confirms that the Lord is surely warning His bride! J
I just spent an hour and a half scrolling my phone stressfully because I knew I was wasting my time amidst my career-deciding India's one of the toughest exams but I couldn't stop. It's like a spell on me that I sometimes it's very hard for me to keep the phone away from me. I did go on a digital fast for a day and it was effective for a few days only to come up w on and off addiction to youtube. Almost I deleted every social media app from my phone yet I keep craving for entertainment. Memes jokes and silly videos. I cannot change this on my own😭😭 Guess God's trying to help me through this video. I just want to be committed to the Lord and use my time and energy for Him. 😭
Doomscrolling is only a byproduct of having too much power and not enough to do. If you were using your phone for functional tasks, you realize it’s like having the ultimate multi-function tool. A “universal remote” for everything from doing your taxes to building a house. We fundamentally lack skills and purpose for all the power we have been given.

In these end times, the book of Revelation describes that the prayers of the saints is a vital part of Christ’s end time victory. There is a real medical condition called”broken heart syndrome “ that I often see as a caregiver…heart attacks that can only be explained as coming from sorrow. Yes Christians! Guard your heart for out of it flow the issues of life.
I had a dream after a message i heard on pastors perspective just before chuck smith passed . The dream started off where my husband and i were sitting in a bank with a teller and it was like we were getting new debit cards and the lady says you have to get this and she spells out the letters Y.O.U and we looked at each other in the dream an were like omg! Its here....in reference to Revelation 13...i dont know if it was prophetic but i wonder. As time goes on . Thank u for this message.

It’s crazy this video popped up I literally deleted all my social apps it has taken so much time from me. I literally felt like I couldn’t do it not tat I haven’t done it before but this time is different
Another thing I tried that worked good after taking all the garbage off my phone, I prayed to God I asked him to take the wheel on my phone and asked him to keep his protection on my phone. I ha e Facebook and the only time I'm on it is if I'm putting a sermon video or a Bible veres on it. Infact I rarely get on utube and if I'm on it it's watching stuff pertaining to God. Sermons or How to pray the Rosary videos and I read the Bible almost every day now. And I have the Chosen app. Pray for God to keep junk from poping up on my screen and the rest I can do with self control now.
Wow, I just started on a year long fast from social media, tv, and RUclips: I can use RUclips only for certain things here and there. I believe this is further confirmation that I heard correctly.

I had to unfollow 900 people, curate my entire social media and only post about the gospel. Create videos about my love and walk with Christ. The one thing the Holy Spirit taught me was to drop or turn off my phones when in the presence of others, at church and when in his presence. That had helped tremendously. I fast social media from time to time
I had a dream a few mornings before this came out. In the dream I had walked up a hill, at the top was a garage door. I was told to open the door. On the other side, there was a lion. People were lining up to walk past the lion. I heard the words "The Lion of Judah". I wanted to take a photo, so I took out my phone. Suddenly a whole lot of adverts came onto the phone, making a lot of noise. I quickly went around a corner to quieten the phone. I was surrounded by dogs sniffing all around me. When I couldn't stop the phone and manage the dogs I put it away saying that I didn't need a photo. I went back out and the Lion was gone. Instead I was bring charged by a rhino. I had to run and hide, and just wait. I knew I'd be rescued, but that it was going to take a while. I believe this was a warning and an end-time prophesy. People will miss their opportunity to meet with the Lord because the world's idols have stolen our worship.

I just spent an hour and a half scrolling my phone stressfully because I knew I was wasting my time amidst my career-deciding India's one of the toughest exams but I couldn't stop. It's like a spell on me that I sometimes it's very hard for me to keep the phone away from me. I did go on a digital fast for a day and it was effective for a few days only to come up w on and off addiction to youtube. Almost I deleted every social media app from my phone yet I keep craving for entertainment. Memes jokes and silly videos.
I cannot change this on my own😭😭
Guess God's trying to help me through this video. I just want to be committed to the Lord and use my time and energy for Him. 😭
Doomscrolling is only a byproduct of having too much power and not enough to do. If you were using your phone for functional tasks, you realize it’s like having the ultimate multi-function tool. A “universal remote” for everything from doing your taxes to building a house. We fundamentally lack skills and purpose for all the power we have been given.

About the heart failing: those of the darkness know a disheartened Christian will not pray. In these end times, the book of Revelation describes that the prayers of the saints is a vital part of Christ’s end time victory. There is a real medical condition called”broken heart syndrome “ that I often see as a caregiver…heart attacks that can only be explained as coming from sorrow. Yes Christians! Guard your heart for out of it flow the issues of life.

I had a dream after a message i heard on pastors perspective just before chuck smith passed . The dream started off where my husband and i were sitting in a bank with a teller and it was like we were getting new debit cards and the lady says you have to get this and she spells out the letters Y.O.U and we looked at each other in the dream an were like omg! Its here....in reference to Revelation 13...i dont know if it was prophetic but i wonder. As time goes on . Thank u for this message.
