I have had a pair of Timberlands similar to these since 2008 and just tossed them away. I never waterproofed them after original purchase and the waterproofing lasted about 10 years. My favorite boots by far for the price.
I wore these while as an Amazon Prime driver as they are comfortable, durable for the price, and have an excellent amount of tread in them to walk on rough terrain like gravel roads. I personally recommend them just be sure to put in some quality insoles and waterproof the boots with oil if possible.
Just got these yesterday from Amazon. Paid about $90 for them. So far so good. Waterproofing works well & for the most part they're comfortable. They're light as well. I like the look too; mine are black. Can't wait to take these on a long trek.
@@BootSpy They seem to be wearing out quickly but again, they are comfortable. Did notice some burning in my feet early on but they feel like they're broken in now.
I’ve worn a pair of timberland bosshog 5-6 days a week for almost 5 years. Not hiking boots, but I’ve never re applied waterproofing & they’re still waterproof. The sole is finally separating & one of them got ran over twice by a forklift & it just rolled back off. I know these aren’t safety toe but just my experience with their quality & durability.
Thanks for the review! I am debating on whether to get these shoes or not. Primarily for use in the winter and snow days. Do you recommend these for use in the snow based on your usage?
I think they're a good fit for winter. They're waterproof, have solid grip, and are pretty well insulated. I really think it comes down to how much hiking you'll be doing. If you're planning on 4 or 5 winter hikes, these are great.
Thank you so much! And I think if these were caught underwater, they'd take 24 hours to dry out. But it's really just the tongue. If you walk through a river, they're mostly waterproof so you won't get the tongue wet really
Hi! This was a great review! I was wondering if you'd recommend this boot for a college student up north. I need something that will be comfortable and warm to wear for walking around campus in and out of buildings and waiting at bus-stops in both warm and very cold weather (like both 25C and -15C). Will these work well?
I just bought a 9W in Mt Maddsen. Wonder why you keep saying no wide sizes? And I have WIDE feet. However the design of Timberlands seems to be narrow. I use 8.5W in Caterpillars at work.
I'm a timber marker. I walk around in the woods 8+ hours a day in rough, uneven terrain. Do you think these will hold up? I need to spend that sweet sweet company boot allowance.
So lets say I go on weekly hikes but nothing crazy, usually the most I go is around 12 miles (thats an upper average) and I probably usually do more around like 8 or 9 mile hikes. Would you recommend these for that? I am pretty broke so I am trying not to go more expensive haha
Honestly, I would step up to a Danner if you're hiking that often. You may be broke, but you'll end up saving money in the long run. Danners will pay for themselves in a year.
@@scarlettjung4531 judging by reviews from timberlands website, I'd say they are suitable winter boots. Some mentioned that they hiked in knee high snow.
You are WRONG about the width. Just purchashed a pair yesterday in WIDE WIDTH size 15. They also had 12, 11 1/2, 11 & 10 in WIDE WIDTH. So if any of you use wide width, YES you can easily get a pair in your size. Happy hiking!
Nice review. I don’t see that brown/orange combination anywhere. Is that a year specific or country specific option? I’m in the US. If anyone knows, thanks!
i personally think these pairs are not very comfortable especially the support is weak and very easy to get fatigue, and you need to get half or one size down so highly recommend to try it out before purchase.
Just checked, these ones in Amazon Germany cost €178. (!!??) Quite a strong pass for such a price. Some great hiking boots from other brands here (e.g. Lowa) cost less than that.
Had a pair of worn them almost everyday for three years hike a lot in the mountains in Southeastern KENTUCKY probably the best l ever seen, just put mink oil on them was all I did.
Look like a very light duty boot. Timberland lost quality , unglue sole, lace eyes broke. Just look the Amazon reviews. White ledge, Cordura, and the other two models of Timberland breaking down . Timberland right now is only "Look" & old stories. Timberland 15 yrs ago was quality. In 1985 I buy a TopSider ($130) shoes and last up to 2002 using Timberland mink oil cream. Now Timberland don't have that Quality.

Ive had multiple pairs of these now. They are perfect imo.

Really I don't trust Amazon they b bootlegged but good to know
I have a black pair I used for work. Walking aroumd doing inside and outside patrol at a state prison. They are doing pretty good a couple months in.
Wore these on a recent trip to Costa Rica. Mad comfy and durable for the money

Do you use mink oil to waterproof your boots or do you use something else?
@@SanMario95never used anything on them. I just got lucky taking a chance on them & they happened to be way better than i could’ve hoped for.

Another great review. I was curious while researching hikers if these were decent for the price. I ended up going in another direction.
Thank you, brother!
I have very low arches. lots of boots just don't feel good for me but these are very comfortable.
I'd rather wear these than my sneakers.
Just got a job at home depot walking around on warehouse floor all day, need something comfortable and waterproof? Are these good ?
Great review! Always been a hiking shoe guy. If they get drenched how long do they take to dry out?

Did you end up going with these boots?
Could I use these just for going out in the winter briefly? I know there’s no insulation, but they are waterproof
I used a pair of these boots every day for work for 18 months. While they aren't listed as insulated they will keep your feet warm year round.
There are now(2023 Oct) wide sizes 2E are available in Black and Dark brown, on REI, Amazon, etc
I will be looking for a boot to wear to Thailand when we can travel again. These may do the job .
How are the boots holding up after a year?

No
Do they fit the same as the White Ledge?

I am a narrow 10.5 so I think I just found my new boots!
Nice! Love it!
Just ordered a pair from Amazon and there was a wide option. ??
If you wear wool socks, you think they will keep your feet warm in the winter? I really do not like heavy boots.
Is the weight for just one shoe or the pair?
are these suitable for winter use, around 20-32 F (-10-0 C)
Did you find out?
@@scarlettjung4531 no, unfortunately not yet

Just wondering its heavy boots?
How well would it work with backpacking?
I see a lot of people trash talk timberland I never understood why, this is proof that it’s at least reliable as a brand.
also you can go a half size up for us wide foot guys

Got my answer. It’s the brown that comes with orange insides. The DARK brown does not.

Wow! That's way too expensive for this boot--- I wouldn't recommend them for that price! Thank you so much for watching!
Try some European made brands less taxes and more boots for the money, meindl lowa hanwag scarpa asolo etc

ive had a pair of these for 4 years, just bought a second pair.
Are these good for 90 degree weather?
Nothing is good for 90 degree weather. They're decent in heat, but just wear thinner socks
BTW I did put boot insoles that I bought at Walmart in them.
Timberland is always sold out in sizes 14 and 15
Seems like these are hard to find right now
There is EE Width; at least from what I see online
nice video
Not waterproof. I work in snow and just snow being on the tips of the boots soaked my socks at the toe end.
that's a huge bummer---I wonder if it was a manufacturing defect---mine are totally waterproof.
