    Nice to see these on little module boards. I use an old laser pointer and a phototransistor on my chicken coop to keep the automatic door from squashing my birds.

    I have these lasers setup for a basketball arcade game. They work great but if a ball hits the basket. It registers a score. Any ideas to make these less sensitive?

    Hi, the problem with this setup is that when the laser is interrupted the input in the arduino is left floating, which means that you don't get a deterministic low signal.

    Does the laser need to be completely obstructed to trigger the sensor? Could a 0.05mm copper wire be detected?

      that is tough to know. I have not tested. Let's see if anyone else has done it. Try it.

    Hey would it be possible to use this system to tell 2 6V DC motors to rotate whenever the signal is interrupted?

    What is the maximum distance between the transmitter and the receiver?

      as for as you can see and aim it. there is no limit. with naked eyes, you can't see the receiver to aim in a distance longer than 10 meters.

    hello my laser isnt working and i dont know why could anyone help me i followed the tutorial exactly it just blinks a couple of times then stops idk how to fix it

      try interchanging the polarity. In my case I had the S and - mis-written on the PCB. I just inverted my connections, it worked..

    I have purchase the KY-008 laser with the associated sensor board. For my project I only need the 3 pin sensor but I'm unable to identify it, and I can't seem to find any references to it on all the sites that are selling it. Does anyone know the Mfr and Part Number of the detector which inserts into the 3 pin socket? Thanks!!!

      you can identify it by watching the video. it is veyr simple. it is + and GND and output and I have shown it.

      @@robojax You mis-understand. I'm looking for the part number of the receiver only. Just the detector that has the tiny lens bump on it. I want to purchase it separately without the board that it mounts on.

      it is already cheap. just get the with the bord and discard the boad. when I was making this video, I tried to find so I could includ it in the video and even today I tried but could not find it.

      that is the name "detector" or "sensor" it has no model or anything. Just follow the links you will see it
