New Skincare Product First Impressions!
Today I thought I would do a first impressions video on some new skincare products I've picked up. As I am always looking out for something to brighten up my skin, the Missha Vita C Plus Spot Correcting Ampoule seemed like a good option. I love the combination of ascorbic acid, tranexamic acid, and turmeric they used. It does contain a few fragrant oils, which would have been better if they would have left out, thankfully the scent dissipates nearly immediately. Canmake now has five shades of their viral hit, Mermaid Sun Gel to choose from. Today I'll test out the two newest shades, Purple and Sunny Yellow. Also showing a couple new goodies from The Ordinary in their quick growing collection now that Estee Lauder has completely taken over.

I'm using the ordinary lip balm, and I wasn't blown away as much as I thought I would be, because everyone seems to think it's amazing. It's to lightweight, not thick enough to moisturize my lips. I like my lip balms thick 😊❤
@@aprilneilson1163 it's because all the people who think it's "amazing" are either getting paid to say so or got it for free. When I started seeing videos of it going from a lip balm to using it on your cuticles to your elbows....thats when I said....no thanks lol That told me instantly it wasn't a good lip balm so they were selling other purposes for it. I checked the ingredients for the Provence Beauty Soft Bisous lip balm and it had a lot of good ingredients. Plus it has a vanilla flavor, some people said it's a dupe for the Summer Fridays. I think I'll get it next time I place an order at Ulta.
The TO lip is more of a treatment. Try applying that first and follow it up with a balm type product to lock it in.
I like the elf lip mask.
@@NotImpressed22I wouldn't want to use a lip balm over a lip balm lol
@paulayarbrough6930 I wouldn't either, but I would use a treatment and balm. The TO is more of a serum type texture. If you're into K Beauty, you've seen these types of treatments everywhere. They're getting very popular.
Ty! Love seeing these new products!❤
I was disappointed in TO balancing and clarifying serum. It made me break out so I stopped using it and let my skin clear. Tried it again and broke out again. Something in it just doesn't agree with me.
Yep that's about right it's due tomorrow, lol
It's worth it though they have some awesome prices!
I love the Peter Thomas Roth glow drops! They don’t break me out either and I like the shade. The company also makes a good peptide night moisturizer that is perfect for the summer.
The reviews for TO lip balm are pretty bad at Ulta. I'm happy with my Summer Fridays Vanilla Lip Balm but if I was going to try a new lip balm I'd go for the Provence Beauty Soft Bisous lip balm
I like to use The Ordinary's Stress Less to get the skin neutralized after C serum. Then I can layer peptides, copper in particular. But the Stress less I believe is beta Glucin and centella.
Stress Less is from Geek and Gorgeous.
I am curious about the new The Ordinary lip balm. However, I just bought the Topicals lip balm so I don’t want too many redundant products on the go at once. I will try it eventually.
I also have just started using the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness serum. Normally this is not a brand I’d go to for skincare but it was on sale and the ingredients looked good. It features ingredients like colloidal oatmeal and centella and is not fragranced. It’s green like a color corrector but I don’t notice any actual tint when I put it on. I have rosacea so this has been a good fit so far.
@@GlowITG I was curious tpp until I read the reviews from Ultas website. It has some really poor reviews at Ulta. Most said it was thin like a lotion or compared it to Vaseline.
I’ve loved the Ordinary lip balm so far (and I don’t use a lot of their products normally except for their pycnogenol.) My lips feel much much more hydrated.
I picked up The Ordinary's new lip balm, about to try it. Wondering if it will be difficult to get remaining product out when the little round container is nearly empty. TO is one of my favourite brands.
Lol i thought the same exact thing
I really like that APLB company. They have some great reasonably priced items. I’ve been told the company’s name is A plus B.
Hi Sarah, Ike and Mr cameraman 👍 I love the furst impressions videos. It's 117 today in my Phoenix suburb.I can't wait to go to Minneapolis in Aug! My people ❤
OMG, 117 sounds stifling. Any special occasion bringing you to the twin cities?
@@NOBSBeauty Suster in Edina, Daughter in Maple Grove, Son in Coon Rapids....Born and raised by lake Nokomis in so Mpls. I usually come back for 6 weeks, but colon cancer diagnosis, tests, I can only go for two weeks this year. I'll miss the State Fair! My son and his family have a cabin on Big Sandy. Jetski and boating fun.
I’d appreciate a comparison between The Ordinary clarifying serum with the G&G aPAD serum! I love azelaic acid!
Great idea- will add this to my list of videos to work on- Azelaic acid is so wonderful for so many skin issues!
Did I hear you right, The Ordinary's new serum contains an Azelaic Acid derivative? If so, that could be something that I'd like. Maybe I might try it because I usually love TO's products ❤
Can you please please please recommend a good Korean style (chemical) MATTE sunscreen? I really can’t do these glowy ones with my skin 😢
Haruharu is the least oily sunscreen i’ve tried and i’ve tried probably 8 korean sunscreens
@@matt8953 thank you so much! I haven’t tried that yet and I will! ❤️
@@Olovoll the yellow bottle not the purple one! Purple is mineral

I ordered the APLB egf & peptide essence lol still waiting for it got it from yes style
I'm impressed with APLB so far, I've only tried a couple products from them so far and have enjoyed them.
I order stuff from yes style and it takes a month to come!😊
I order something from yes style and have to wait a month to get it!
Can you pls review the new Laneige eye mask? 🙂
Oh i well check that one out!
Has anyone tried the InnBeauty Project Elastic Skin serum ?
Where would the balancing serum go in your routine?
I typically use Azelaic Acid in my evening routine, this one is super light textured so I apply it right after toning. Azelaic Acid (and it's derivative) is super friendly with other ingredients and even other actives so it plays well if you still wanted to use a retinoid.
The APLB has tea tree extract (thank goodness not essential oil) in it. Is it a red flag? Mine is on the way 😂
Missha vita c vs. paulas choice booster vita c. Which is better?
They are both great. If price is no factor I'd go with the Paula's Choice, if you don't mind the initial scent the Missha is great. The pump on it is annoying but once it dispenses it feels really nice on my skin.
That egf serum made me curious as it’s so much cheaper than the Haruharu 2gf ampoule I’ve been using. It seems to have a much lower concentration of egf than the Haruharu, 1 part per billion vs 10 parts per million respectively (that’s a difference of 10000 times). Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any info online for what concentration of egf is best for achieving desired results in regards to skin, but if you operate with the assumption that more is better (which is of course is not always true), the Haruharu has far more egf than this APLB serum. Though, definitely not saying the APLB has nothing else going for it.
My thoughts too. The HaruHaru also has both sh-oligopeptide-1 AND sh-oligopeptide-2, while the APLB only has one.
I haven’t tried the APLB but I’ve used an entire bottle of the HaruHaru 2GF, which really helped with recovering and tolerating my new tretinoin & hydroquinone prescriptions. I just haven’t repurchased it because I’m planning on trying the 4GF eye cream from Manyo first (since the sensitivity/dryness I usually get is around my eyes anyway).
The yellow canmake mermaid sunscreen has vit c
Also it has iron oxide, titanium oxide and zinc oxide. It’s a hybrid sunscreen.
Hope this helps 🙂

Are you sure about the collagen peptide serum? I noticed a lot of red on your neck after application. Did you notice any long term irritation?
That caught my attention too! 🙈🙉
Oh wow yeah, by the end of the video it looked like a sunburn! I rewinded the video and realized it wasn’t 😧 definitely a product reaction of some kind!
When did you lose so much weight??? Make a video about it
The hot dog water smell belongs to ferulic acid not vit c .....the more you know😂😂😂
The missha vitamin C was so disappointing for me! There was a serious problem with the design of the bottle, so the product didn't come out at some point
The bottle is frustrating, I was thinking maybe it was just mine. It's definitely challenging to dispense a fair amount. I bet they were probably trying to make it air tight, but that didn't work as well as I was hoping for.
Is Missha still animal testing? I want to try their stuff so bad!
