  • When was the last time you saw a Classical Music video, featuring the soloist and conductor? Not of a performance, but a storyline video?
This unique Music Video to "Summertime" was produced by Climage Studios, directed by Daniel Wyss, and filmed by Bastien Genoux, in New York, to create a "back to an imaginary, golden age" ambiance.
The track comes from the Album "American Serenade", released on Warner Classics, featuring works that are linked by one theme: Love. Gershwin's Fantasy on Porgy and Bess, Carmen Fantaisie by Franz Waxman, and the Serenade after Plato's Symposium by Leonard Bernstein. Three great composers who transcended artistic boundaries, who spoke to the soul, who were inclusive, not exclusive, and who wrote for all generations.
Our wish with this video is to recreate the ambiance on the CD, and to inspire people to appreciate these amazing compositions. Summertime is, of course, universally known; but in this work, one can hear in this arrangement by Alexandre Courage, how the harmonies create a veil for the sound of the violin to sing and express the tenderness of the song. This is sensual music, colorful, but also virtuosic, and perfect for a video of an imaginary, romantic rendez-vous.
With Rachel Kolly d'Alba, violin, and John Axelrod, conductor.
    Released on Warner Classics - 10. 2012

La musique est sublime, et la romance fait rêver.
