      Happy New Year! I've been mostly doing a Mediterranean food lifestyle for the past nine months, and so far have lost 21 lbs. Off topic, but I'm concerned that with the amount of coffee you drink, you might end up with kidney stones like my husband did. Now he drinks lemonade at least once a week, and hasn't had a stone for years.

    Aside from the eggs, this sounds like an expensive diet.

    • @bobdole7292
      @bobdole7292 Год назад

      Depends on the cuts of meat. If you figure eggs are a couple bucks a day and the steak you get is about $7/lb (pretty reasonable quality ) you’d be spending $15 a day on food or a little over $100 a week /400 a month.
      Not horrible

    Why are you consuming so many salts and electrolytes when you aren’t moving a ton??

    • @Derek_Reynolds
      @Derek_Reynolds 2 месяца назад

      Because your body doesn’t hold any subq water in carnivore due to extreme low carbs so you are peeing like crazy and need to consume more salt. Recommend to atleast consume 4-6g of salt daily.

  • @BmanNL1
    @BmanNL1 Год назад +21

    Another RUclips channel jumping on the carnivore bandwagon just because it gets you views.
    Without any medical background, just promoting a dumb diet. People should eat a healthy balanced diet, that includes all food groups.
    But it's RUclips so everything for the views.

    FYI : Is it OK to drink electrolytes everyday?
    Electrolyte drinks are not meant to be casually consumed throughout the day as if they're water. Due to their high electrolyte content, drinking these beverages every day when there has not been a loss of electrolytes, could result in toxicities (poisoning) of different electrolytes.14 Sept 2023

      As much as I appreciate Ken and have been a fan for a while, it feels like the best idea here isn't a fad diet but to just stop consuming so much fast food. If you're going to diet so you can continue to eat fast food I really don't see the point. As far as research goes, there's nothing I've found proving the validity of this either. Not sure where Ken is getting his info from.

  • @JRDN9393

    Ken you should really reconsider this fad diet. The *only* reason you’ve lost weight on this “diet” is because you consumed a measly 1695 calories for your whole day. On top of that, you ate all of those meals within a tiny 2 hour window. That is not sustainable nor healthy….

  • @robocop1985
    @robocop1985 Год назад +12

    Good to see you take the environment serious by eating only meat. Meat production accounts for 57 percent of the greenhouse gas emissions of the entire food production industry in North America. Thanks for keeping our planet safe by doing that and by flying all over the freaking place. Happy new year Ken and to mankind

    While I applaud the weight loss aspect. I suspect that this diet for many folks isn't going to be sustainable or heathy. In terms of the medical literature -- there has to be more balance. A high fat low/zero carb diet hasn't been proven to lead to long term weight loss. If some one is diabetic or in any other compromised health position this could be very dangerous. High fat often = a fairly large increase in cholesterol, and this can lead to gall stones. Easier to probably say this works for you, but diets like these are often difficult to see as a panacea for most. Weight loss as the cost of other co-morbidities isn't exactly a great thing. Still find you entertaining -- just this is the first series of videos where I wonder is this dangerous for a viewer to try and copy.

    That's the New York strip. Or strip loin in Canada evidently. In the USA sirloin or top loin is a different cut. If it was half the thickness we'd call it a Kansas City strip. Anyway, New York strips are often on special in Colorado for $5.99/lb or $6.99/lb. A few years ago they used to go on special for $3.99/lb.

Beat diabetes youtube talks about this century old diet. Dr. Bernstien of diabetes university promotes a low carbohydrate or a 0 kind on the youtube and he's in his 80's / 90's. Still alive and kickn'! But slower. Carnivore diet was prescribed for diabetes when there was no insulin in the 1900s from some doctors to children or adults. More like low carb. When insulin came and the diet was discontinued and now it's making a comeback strong.
