Happy New Year! I've been mostly doing a Mediterranean food lifestyle for the past nine months, and so far have lost 21 lbs. Off topic, but I'm concerned that with the amount of coffee you drink, you might end up with kidney stones like my husband did. Now he drinks lemonade at least once a week, and hasn't had a stone for years.
Depends on the cuts of meat. If you figure eggs are a couple bucks a day and the steak you get is about $7/lb (pretty reasonable quality ) you’d be spending $15 a day on food or a little over $100 a week /400 a month. Not horrible
He’s most likely going to write it off as part of his “job” as a RUclipsr anyways. Will be interesting to see how it changes his food review videos though. Just gonna eat meat and meat only at every restaurant now? Boring
Because your body doesn’t hold any subq water in carnivore due to extreme low carbs so you are peeing like crazy and need to consume more salt. Recommend to atleast consume 4-6g of salt daily.
Another RUclips channel jumping on the carnivore bandwagon just because it gets you views. Without any medical background, just promoting a dumb diet. People should eat a healthy balanced diet, that includes all food groups. But it's RUclips so everything for the views.
FYI : Is it OK to drink electrolytes everyday? Electrolyte drinks are not meant to be casually consumed throughout the day as if they're water. Due to their high electrolyte content, drinking these beverages every day when there has not been a loss of electrolytes, could result in toxicities (poisoning) of different electrolytes.14 Sept 2023 I love your videos by the way! I am from the land down under.
As much as I appreciate Ken and have been a fan for a while, it feels like the best idea here isn't a fad diet but to just stop consuming so much fast food. If you're going to diet so you can continue to eat fast food I really don't see the point. As far as research goes, there's nothing I've found proving the validity of this either. Not sure where Ken is getting his info from.
Ken you should really reconsider this fad diet. The *only* reason you’ve lost weight on this “diet” is because you consumed a measly 1695 calories for your whole day. On top of that, you ate all of those meals within a tiny 2 hour window. That is not sustainable nor healthy….
Good to see you take the environment serious by eating only meat. Meat production accounts for 57 percent of the greenhouse gas emissions of the entire food production industry in North America. Thanks for keeping our planet safe by doing that and by flying all over the freaking place. Happy new year Ken and to mankind
21:41 - There's not "good LDL and bad LDL". There is good "HDL" and bad "LDL" however. If your HDL is in a high and healthy range that can "offset" some of the negative effects of having elevated LDL levels. (I'm not a doctor)
While I applaud the weight loss aspect. I suspect that this diet for many folks isn't going to be sustainable or heathy. In terms of the medical literature -- there has to be more balance. A high fat low/zero carb diet hasn't been proven to lead to long term weight loss. If some one is diabetic or in any other compromised health position this could be very dangerous. High fat often = a fairly large increase in cholesterol, and this can lead to gall stones. Easier to probably say this works for you, but diets like these are often difficult to see as a panacea for most. Weight loss as the cost of other co-morbidities isn't exactly a great thing. Still find you entertaining -- just this is the first series of videos where I wonder is this dangerous for a viewer to try and copy.
Hey Ken, try to put the fat layer side first and hold it in place like that until the fat side is golden; then the flat sides. You get a crispy fat side and the melted fat is then used for frying and gives it more taste
Sear the steak, then put it in the oven till almost done, then take out and add butter and baste. Or look up reverse sear, best steak I’ve ever tried, medium rare every time.
Not even. You realize when you consume no carbs you need a shit ton of salt because you aren’t holding any water. Shows your lack of education. Gos bless though.
That's the New York strip. Or strip loin in Canada evidently. In the USA sirloin or top loin is a different cut. If it was half the thickness we'd call it a Kansas City strip. Anyway, New York strips are often on special in Colorado for $5.99/lb or $6.99/lb. A few years ago they used to go on special for $3.99/lb.
Good luck on your journey, you won’t regret it. Personally I’m on a animal based “diet”, and it has been the best decision I’ve ever made for my health. But don’t slow down on the exercise, very important! Also seed oils are the worst thing you can consume, use beef tallow or coconut oil when frying! Olive oil is fine, but not at high temperatures.
Happy New Year to you and your family. Thank you for doing this. I've been hoping you would eat keto/carnivore and you're doing it for me. You rock as always !!
I’m almost carnivore and I use homemade ghee instead of oil. I buy grass-fed butter on sale and convert four pounds at a time to about two scant quarts of ghee. I don’t trust olive oil to be genuine nowadays.
Hey Ken , you should have your hood fan vent on while using your gas range. If it is off, you are putting carbon monoxide in your home. Hopefully, it's vented outside as well. Lol, you turned it on just as I finished this message.
Yay I’ve been waiting for a new upload from you Ken! Steak and eggs looked delicious! Thanks for sharing how you cook it. Happy New Year to you and Carol and the kids!
Ken you should be using an oil with a high heat smoke point like Avocado Oil or Sunflower Oil not Olive Oil for high heat cooking. Also you should be adding the pepper after the steak is done not before this will avoid the pepper burning and getting that bitter taste on the steak.
@@KBDProductionsTVKen avacado oil is ok. But better is butter or beef tallow or ghee. Never seed oils!! Been carnivore for 7 months now. Love it! I sugest start with 2 meals a day for the beginning and after a week or two you can go to 1 or keep it at 2. Also get ready for the bathroom.. but it will get better ;)
This carnivore diet is also excellent if you have diabetes. Not exactly new. I can't exactly remember. something maybe in the 18th century? Doing the Benton Diet? Beat diabetes youtube talks about this century old diet. Dr. Bernstien of diabetes university promotes a low carbohydrate or a 0 kind on the youtube and he's in his 80's / 90's. Happ New Year Ken and Carol? Perfect steak and eggs, just the way I like them myself. Ken you have actually inspired me to take a look at my diet and to start exercising this year. I am 61 and need to get off my rear and do it. Looking forward to your content this year from both of you.
Nice! Though yeah a little undercooked for my liking. One of my friends is on carnivore and seems to have decent results. We went to a bacon festival last month that had mainly grilled meat products, so he was in heaven. Apparently beer is not carnivore, so he was drinking whisky... I was like, um sure. To be fair, maybe it was about the carbs... ;)
Did you let your steak come to room temp before cooking? I've made that mistake too many times. You should've done 2 min. each side and then finish it in the oven at 450.
Hey Ken & Carol 🎉 Happy 2024! Thanks so much for sharing this, your information and learning journey is so helpful, I'm turning 44 soon, my diet needs have changed, I also "fast" and mostly only eat once a day, sometimes twice, but its happening naturally. If you're iron is low should get it checked out, mine was and it was bowel cancer. Only way to do steak is to BBQ it and only flip once

You really need help cooking steak 😂
Celtic salt is supposed to be the healthiest to use. It has the highest mineral count.
I am happy to wish you luck. You will need it eating that stuff.
It seems like you would get tired of only eating steak and eggs everyday……
Definitely
Aww sunny 🌞 love see her in the video and good luck on your weight loss journey! You got this 💪
Steaks are around $16.00 US per pound for beef at my meat market in Ohio. Pork is much less expensive

I love how the cat just likes to chill in your arms lol. My cats hate it when I pick them up like that
use avocado oil instead. it wont burn like Olive oil and its neutral in taste. 👍👍
don't forget liver for the vitamin c
bbq that thing with a real grill not fry it
